I went to see R.Shulstad APRN for this annoying blistering Rash on the inside of my Elbows and Chest , during Examination and Conversation he diagnosed me with Medication Allergies, he also gave me an Prescription for a Ointment .. I fallowed his instructions , his Diagnosis was accurate, the Rash is gone and so far hasn't returned . Everyone was professional and friendly . read more

As a long-time patient, I've been with the practice for over 15 years, and they are always happy and efficient, ensuring you don't have to wait long in the waiting room. The procedures are quick, and then they make sure you are back for follow-up. Wouldn't go anywhere else. Seems like the low rates are coming from folks who don't have insurance, and then are mad at the doctor's office about that. read more

This review, comes after the billing period, which they could not seem to explain, the inflated costs of a single, short "15 minute" visit. Almost $800 for that visit, a quick slice and of course the laboratory biopsy, which incurred 2 separate costs to me, when I inquired, all I could get was the person on the phone, rattling off billing codes and what Medicare and what little my secondary didn't cover. The office visit fees are exorbitant and they (the doctors) have to know what the patient will incur. All I got was, we won't know until, this or that. I cannot be the only one who has been ripped off by this place! Poor billing and lack of transparency on services they complete, needs major help here. The end result is emails, mail billing with poor explanations from billing codes and inflating and overcharging on initial visit, and all this wait and see type of results from insurances. They know exactly what they're doing here! PATIENT BEWARE, inquire first before the knife comes out, or you're screwed! read more

I arrived for my appointment on time, but since no one was attending the front desk, I signed in and sat in the corner to social distance from the other patients. I ended up waiting 20+ minutes because they forgot about me. The time delay wasn't an issue; I'm a patient person. However, what was an issue was that the receptionist refused to believe that I arrived on time, refused to consider that she could have made a mistake, and had the audacity to say I was lying to my face. I've been there in the past and was pretty much satisfied. The last time I was there, I was mis-diagnosed with a herpes sore OR shingles. After a month in intense pain I located a stinger between my upper lip and gum. I had an insect bite with a severe allergic reaction. I went a 2nd time. PA insisted it was shingles or herpes again. He ordered a blood test. I never got the test results. When I called stating I found a stinger, I got no response or reply. The bottom line is: The dermatologist couldn't tell the difference between an insect bite or shingles making me question whether other diagnosis by Advanced Dermatology were accurate. This should be NO stars due to the pain and suffering I've experienced for 5 weeks. I'll repeat it: Advanced Dermatology couldn't tell the difference between shingles and an insect bite. Stay away from there and find a reputable dermatologist. read more

I have been going to advanced dermatology for three years and I would not change providers for any reason. From making an appointment, to discussing my bill, it is all accomplished with such ease. The treatment is explained and handled carefully, with great pains taken to ensure I am comfortable. The medical staff is professional, qualified, and empathetic to the patients. read more

I would not recommend Advanced Dermatology simply because the skin check l recieve was next to nothing. I did not see a doctor and the skin cancer was missed on my arm even when l asked about the spot. Today l went to Bay Dermatology and actually was seen by a doctor. Dr. Dorton was very professional and l felt like he looked at my skin. Oh yeah, the spot on my arm l pointed out to Advanced Dermatology was most likely skin cancer. He did a biopsy and will know more in a week. read more

UNBELIEVABLY BAD. I took my mother for mohs surgery at the University Point Office in Tampa. We arrived on time but it was over 2 hours before she was even called in to start. The waiting room was packed. I know the process for this procedure well because I have had it myself twice: once at Florida Medical and once at Bowman Institute. I never had to wait more than 15 minutes to get started and even though you do have to plan to be there a long time as the doctor needs to check to make sure the margins are clear each time they remove some of the cancerous tissue, it was not like this. There was never more than 1 or 2 other people getting the surgery at the same time as me. Here, we arrived at our scheduled time at noon but she didn't start until after 2pm. It was close to 7 pm when we left and she only required one cut! She was the last one to leave. I could understand if she required multiple surgeries like I did to make sure they got it all but that wasn't the case. I understand that some of the other patients did require multiple incisions, but the issue is clearly overbooking and the fact that since they take Humana Insurance all but one of the patients there were my mom's age or much older - she is 80! Making older patients sit for this long when it isn't necessary is abusive. I am not sure how early they started before we arrived but I counted at least 10 patients from Noon on. Every one had the same feeling; a clear "more patients = more $" take-away. Everyone was complaining. The one patient that was younger than 80 said he would go somewhere else next time even if he had to pay cash. I am starting with this Yelp review but I am not stopping here, I will report it to Humana and whoever else I need to. This is elder abuse. This was not the first time either, we had this same experience 2 years ago here when my mom had the same surgery - but I just thought there must have been a medical emergency that day, but one of the other patient's wife told me they had been there 6 times in the past few years and it was always like this. Unacceptable customer experience is an understatement-and the fact that all of these patients were in their 70's 80's and 90's is just shameful. One of the over-80 patient's wife was diabetic and she couldn't leave because her husband had sever hearing loss. They keep the patients in a separate room where there is cold pizza available "for patients only". If they would let you post with zero stars on Yelp, I would, (actually more like negative zero stars!) If you can go somewhere else do it. If no one else takes your insurance, show this review to your insurance agent. read more
