Dr.Bradford is the BEST doctor in Lake Tahoe! I flew from Southern California to see him and i am so glad i did. I am a 30 year old female who had sub mental Lyposuction surgery with Dr.Bradford. Sorry, Advanced Dermatology has been going downhill for a while. The last straw was the loss of their laser machine that was not timely replaced. I had an appointment in March that had to be cancelled because their laser machine wasn't working. I have called several times over the last few months to see if they had gotten their machine working...each time the answer is: "No, but we are working on it." Only to find out today, in fact, they aren't working on it. I think they have lost their commitment to comprehensive care. read more

I first came in for a consultation about some acne scarring and 2 moles - Dr. Salm was able to remove my moles cleanly to the point I'll have little to no scarring. He recommended I get micro needling to help even my complexion and my did it help! It's been less than a week and I'm already happy with the micro needling results. Made 3 separate appointments at this practice for a skin condition. Totally misdiagnosed every time even though I was vocal about their treatment regime not working. I think in total I may have seen the Doctor for a total of about 45 seconds. I eventually had to find a Dermatologist down in Carson. Who took one look correctly diagnosed and provided a script that worked wonders in a short time. Went in to get a spot checked on my face. They burned it, set up a follow up appt. which did not happen because of evacuation. I didnt get a call back, I had to call them to get another appt set up which was not for another month and a half. OK, fine have to catch up from the evacuation...Finally the day comes begining of November.. after their service reminds me of my appointment, I arrive to hear that whoever I was to see, was sent home sick and they couldnt get me in until the begining of the year! I have been going there for years and my insurance has always covered it, I always ask before and they assured me it was covered, they are NOW liars, I just got a huge bill and nothing was covered, I will never go back and they will never get a dime from me. First things first, the blue light therapy has been amazing for my skin, I highly recommend starting off with this treatment if you want a less invasive treatment option that isn't super costly. These ladies are also just the absolute BEST at what they do! I think this the only doctors office I've ever come to where I've looked forward to my visits everyone here is so friendly and genuinely cares about how you're doing, which is so great especially during these odd times of social distancing due to COVID-19. Apart from being extremely friendly, everyone I've encountered is wonderful at their job. They are careful to take proper health precautions for COVID, like offering face masks, limiting the amount of visitors allowed at one time, and taking temperatures when you first come in. They are efficient at scheduling and check-ins, and never make you wait too long before you are seen. Overall I highly recommend this office! read more

I was initially referred to Dr. Salm but could not get an appointment for weeks. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. McCrorey sooner so took my chances. I am so glad I did! Dr. McCrorey is by far the most thorough dermatologist I have ever been to and I've been to a lot with skin cancer running in my family. He really listened to my concerns and did a thorough check up. He is professional, has a great sense of humor, took his time to answer all of my questions... I highly recommend him! read more

I'm one of those people cursed with trillions of moles, so one of the first things I sought out when I moved to Lake Tahoe was a dermatologist for regular checkups. While Dr. Salm's front office staff all seem more interested in the perks of working for a cosmetic surgeon (or perhaps it's a rule that they all have platinum hair and unusually perky boobs and noses?), it's still very much a dermatologists office once you get beyond the facade. That, however, takes a long time if your appointment is scheduled for anytime after about 1 pm, just like Southwest flights. Dr. Salm himself is a competent doctor, and his preoccupation with minimizing scarring (the cosmetic surgeon in him) means that any mole removal is usually followed up by scar removal measures, be they tattoos, creams, lasers or bandages. And while he doesn't always appreciate the dry humor I employ to combat my nervousness when he approaches me with a large hypodermic needle (we all have our coping mechanisms), he gets the job done in a gentle and efficient manner. I'm giving him a 4 star because of the perpetual lateness of the late afternoon appointments, which is exceptionally frustrating. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I am beyond frustrated with my partner's visit today. First off, the woman taking us to his room said I was not allowed in the room d/t covid. My partner wanted me in the room bc I know his moles better than he does (his father passed at 44 from melanoma so we are hyper focused on them). She allowed me in the room, but made US wear a mask and said "sorry, I've just had covid twice.." (The office no longer required masks for patients or staff). Next, the doctor and 2 other people came into the room and the doctor's first words, very rudely were "oh it's a crowded room," staring directly at me in the corner. I said yeah, "why are there so many providers?" She then said they were training. She proceeds to "inspect" my partner's moles VERY quickly. He had socks on and she simply asks "do you have any moles on your feet?" and never even looked at them. I pointed out a few strange moles (she completely missed), and she ended up doing a biopsy on one. She didn't explain anything to him, grabs a lidocaine syringe, and injected it WITHOUT cleaning the site. She does 2 injections, doesn't wait even a minute before she begins to shave off the mole. He is wincing in pain bc it isn't numb and I say "does that hurt?" and he said yes. She then says, "you need to speak up" to my partner. She is finished at this point, slaps a bandaid on it and gives minor aftercare info and walks out. The dirty sharp was also left sitting on a tray table. I am APPALLED. We will NEVER go back here, and honestly if you're concerned about cancer and/or actually want a thorough mole inspection, never go here. read more

If I could double the stars I would! They help to make even sensitive procedures comfortable. The assistants are so sweet and helpful! They explain procedures carefully and truly make you feel at ease. Even though the practice is busy they don't make you feel rushed or brush off any questions or concerns. Absolutely a horrible experience. Made appt. for laser consultation and got billed $127 for nothing! Never saw a Doctor, instead a kid named Kyle, a medical assistant. I even paid cash($60) for their over the counter Retin-A and they didn't even know the correct protocol for the usage of Retin-A. I asked numerous times if there was fee for office visit but never got an answer. I made an appointment for fillers($500) but since cancelled. The staff is unprofessional and unqualified. Don't waste your time or money, there are plenty of good doctors around the lake, Carson and Reno!!! read more

I went to Dr. Salm to treat a sizeable Nevus Sebaceous. I was born with it and it grew to be positioned over half my nose and partially within, into my cheek, beside my left eye and into my eyebrow. Dr. Salm was knowledgeable, personable and professional, explaining my options, listening to my concerns and ensuring I felt confident in my choice. The surgery was quick despite the delicate areas requiring excision and recovery was painless, now I have what feels for the first time like my own face, and the scarring is barely visible! My initial appointment was scheduled months out, which I thought was excessive. I waited over 40 minutes at my initial appointment to see the doctor, which, to my surprise turned out to be a quick consult with a physician's assistant instead. My follow-up with the actual doctor to do the small cyst removal would not be for several more months. The day of my procedure was quite concerning. The surgical tools that they would be using were in a pile covered with a towel. Not unwrapped in front of the patient like all past experiences with other doctors, ensuring sterility. The assisting nurse was visibly sick with a cold, blowing his nose into his gloved hands while assisting the doctor. I had to request that the doctor sterilize the area before proceeding to use a needle on my skin. Overall cleanliness and unorganized appearance of the procedure room was concerning. One of the removed cysts has grown back, which I understand is not unusual, so I initially called to schedule a consultation with the doctor to check it out, but was informed that I would have to see the physician's assistant first and go through the entire process again. After further thought, I decided not to go through the months of waiting to see the doctor again, and did not want to risk any sort of infection or blood-borne disease due to the questionable practices I witnessed before, so I cancelled my appointment and instead sought treatment with a local general surgeon who I've trusted for years. I cannot recommend Advanced Dermatology, and I will personally never go back. read more

My boyfriend had a couple large skin squamous' on his neck that grew quickly. Advanced Dermatology was able to get us in within a couple of days of a simple phone call. Because the growths on his neck were as large and scary looking as they were, they did the surgery on the spot. Dr. Salm was very professional and informative along with all of his medical staff. This is by far the best dermatology office I have ever been to. I've been a patient since I was young and I always appreciated how caring and compassionate the doctors were. The entire staff at this office is very friendly! Which is hard to find at a medical office- especially in Tahoe. I noticed some of the bad reviews complain about having to wait a long time... But let's be honest here, this is a place that cures skin cancer and does surgery. I would never get upset about having to wait longer than expected because the doctor was tied up with curing a skin cancer on someone. Imagine if that was your grandmother in surgery? I like to focus on how clean the office is, and how knowledgable the doctors and nurses are because as a patient I want to feel like I'm in good hands... And I get that from this place. read more
