In comes Dr. Funt and wah-lah! After carefully examining my face during my first consultation, Dr. Funt took her time to explain her findings (hormonal acne indeed). She designed a straight forward treatment plan and made sure to let me know that my skin was going to "purge" or get worse before it got better once I started my trentinoid treatment. She explained that it takes weeks to see noticiable results but to just stick to the treatment plan and promise that I would be very happy with the results in a few months. Three months in and wow! With Dr. Funt's treatment plan (that included both an oral medication and another topical cream I had never had prescribed before), and my dedication to stick to my treatment plan as directed, my skin is better than EVER! Dr. Funt then addressed the hyperpigmentation but only after the acne was under control.
