While reviewing my skin condition, Dr. Hesterman checked out a mole which seemed to be changing and performed an immediate biopsy then submitted the tissue to a lab for review. A skin cancer was detected and I have received further treatment and review to make sure no further issues developed. When she first meets you she talks you through everything. She tells you how the laser works, what it will feel like, what you'll see in the weeks to come, etc. She has a great "bed side manner" and she seems to never be running behind schedule. If you're doing the laser hair removal you'll need to go back every 6 weeks for at least 6 treatments. The laser works best on dark hair and the area needs to be shaved prior to each treatment. The pain is not too bad, kinda feels like getting popped with a hot rubber band and it's really quick. I very rarely wait longer than 5 minutes in the waiting room, and once I'm back in an exam room I'm in and out in another 5 minutes. The staff here is great and when I complete my treatment I'll provide an update!

On my first visit I was very impressed that the doctor took time to sit down with me and explain what he had seen and what it could mean without my having to ask. He was very patient, took me through my condition and procedure step by step, made sure I was well informed, and most importantly did not make me feel like he was rushing to get done with me. It was great to feel like a person and not an item on the checklist. Wait times when you get to the office can vary. My first visit they weren't busy and I was taken to a room almost as soon as I was in. On my second visit there was a larger crowd but I still got back into a room and taken care of within fourty minutes of my appointment time. Not the worst wait I've ever had at a doctor's office. Plus, the online appointment scheduler for new patients was great. I didn't have to wait a month to be seen, I was able to get in and be seen in a week. The office may seem humble from the outside but inside is as professional of medical care as I could have hoped for.
