    We had our master bathroom completely remodeled - down to the studs. That included taking out a…read moredifficult spa tub, rebuilding the floor, tearing down a shower - everything gone. In its place is a beautiful walk-in-shower, new upper & lower cabinets where the old shower was, new vanity, new lighting, beautiful porcelain floor tile, bidet seat for the toilet, they even stripped the popcorn ceiling and repainted it. The bathroom took time - with snow storms causing a minor delay, a long freeze requiring their plumbers to address other customer's emergencies - but it is gorgeous! We love our new master bathroom. Additionally, every carpenter, plumber & electrician that worked on the bathroom were gentlemen - friendly, accommodating and precise in their responsibilities and work done. We would recommend WB Dickenson in a heart beat.

Called the office again on Tuesday and was told that they would arrive Wednesday. They did not arrive. Thursday, they arrived without notice around 3:30. The plumber who was difficult to understand said that it was plumbed incorrectly and he would have to re-pipe in the basement and that it was too late to do that day so he would have to come back another day. Since this has been working for over 80 years, I felt that the more likely scenario was an issue with the mechanism within the tank. At around 4pm, the same person/receptionist that I had spoken with, called and asked for payment of $165 dollars. I provided the credit card and made the payment. I explained that although I am not a plumber, I wanted to better understand the problem prior to paying and additional $500. She said that she understood my concerns and would have someone call me Friday. Of course I was not called. They demonstrated urgency in securing payment for the call fee and half-hour minimum, however, their performance in meeting agreed-upon obligations was lacking.

    Blatant rip-off Our…read more8 years old LENOX central air conditioner (still under extended warranty) stopped working 4 weeks after a maintenance visit from Glasco that installed it initially. The technicians very quickly ( 1/2 hours) identified the damaged air handler control board and recommended changing the Magnetic Float Switch. They redirected us to the headquarters for actual work pricing. The price check on the Internet resulted in 15-60$ max for the switch and the control board is covered by our extended warranty. So, we prepared ourselves for up to 500-600$ if we double the time technicians actually worked on diagnostics and repair. What we got as an estimate from Glasco was 1481.41$ !!!! Our request for the itemized estimate has been categorically denied after several heated and rude debates. We understand reading Connecticut law documents (Public Act 22-104, Sec. 37.) that a contractor must provide an itemized bill with specific breakdown of cost on parts and labor. In our case we don't even know whether Glasco actually honored its obligation on extended warranty although inclusion of the cost of the control board increased it by only 200$ max. Our 8 years of relations with Glascor that we deeply regret were one long chain of deceptive practices, poor technical work, broken promises and rip-offs. In the last conversation they have threatened to send technicians to take the installed parts off. For those who are thinking to deal with them we give a citation from the document they sent us recently: "Prior to membership cancellation your account will have to be reviewed and all benefits, discounts or service fees that were applied as a member must be paid in full." How would you like that? Don't get hooked on their ad campaign.
