Two months in a row, I sent them our rent amounts due, (via our bank's bill pay system.) Both times (last month, and this month,) they have taken our money, payment processed, I got receipts for both payments, but they still claim our rent is not paid! We are moving out asap! PLEASE, PLEASE think TWICE before renting from them!! If there was a "minus" score to give them, I would give hem a -10.

Their representative was supposed to come to our home and storage at 2:00 PM today and provide us with an estimate. My husband cleared out his schedule for this. My husband got a call from the owner - Richard Burton at 10:30 AM this morning. He was asking if we were told by other movers how many lbs. our belongings weight. (Isn't it his job to determine that?) He gave us "an approximate" estimate and asked us to... (Drums, please) COMMIT to it. (Yes, he used the word "commit.") Naturally, my husband refused to commit to anything over the phone. Mr. Burton then informed us that he's very busy and has other clients to assist. He mentioned that he "doesn't want to twist our arms," but needs a commitment before visiting our place for an estimate. Again - my husband refused to agree to those terms. So Mr. Burton agreed to honor his 2:00 PM appointment. And so we waited... 2:00 PM - No one showed up. 2:15 PM - There's still no one. 2:20 PM - We start calling RJ Burton Relocation Services' phone number. Nobody picks up. We try several times. And there's no response. 2:22 PM - We call them from our home phone number (which they don't know) and someone picks up immediately. Eventually the owner said that he isn't coming to give us an estimate after all. He insists on a commitment from us before he visits. My question is: how does one commit to an approximate estimate for moving without knowing if it includes the following things? Elevator Carry Flight Charge Linehaul Charge Wrapping furniture with reusable blankets & tape (yes, some companies charge you for that.) Transportation Charge Fuel Surcharge Auxiliary Service Storage-in-Transit Warehouse Handling I think the owner had us mistaken for people who are moving for the first time in their lives... Luckily we found another company that we're going to use. So we won't have to deal with Mr. Burton's unprofessionalism and attitude problem. I suggest that you do the same.

Super friendly and helpful and pleasant to talk with. When we finally got our Camano Island remodel done and also moved into our brand new home in Arlington we didn't need the storage units anymore. There wasn't any up charges or surprises A year later we are renting a few storage units again just because our first round went so well I will always recommend and use Stanwood Self Storage. And even when renter shows proof that they were not behind on rent owner tells renters to f-off and hangs up phone or threatens to taze renters. Owner is nearly impossible to get a receipt from for any payment other than initial rent when contract is signed and will call renter stupid and make fun of renter for requesting receipt for payments of any kind.

There name has changed to iron hard storage this is my recap on all of the issues that I have had…read moreI did not know how bad it was until I had to move the stuff out 1) The staff at this and other locations are the rudest people I have ever dealt with on multiple occasions 2) on arrival at the gate you will notice a small dog that will bark uncontrollably at you with a lady smoking in a chair with no regard whatsoever 3) The gates lock after 10pm we were about maybe 10-15 minutes after 10pm and the on site guy that is literally living there was just not a happy elderly person and was saying extremely rude and inappropriate things and jesters around my kids I'm probably also filling a police report do to this incident that my oldest son was recording

I have rented a 10' x 30' unit for the last 6 years and although the rent price did increase periodically while it was Anchor Storage, it never jumped up in price like it recently has since being acquired by Iron Guard. Rent went up 80$ per month on my unit! NOTHING has been done to improve the facility. Gates are chincy and act like they don't want to open up all the way, turns and corners are so tight that it is extremely difficult to maneuver a moving truck or truck pulling a trailer. This is why the corners and sides of their units are all scraped up with paint from vehicles, storage units have openings in the roof line and my belongings are so covered in dirt and dust that has blown in and settled (and this storage facility is surrounded by industrial area, dirt parking lots for semi trucks and road construction so you can imagine how much dirt is flying around outside in the area). Also, and this is NASTY, so many of my belongings are covered in absolute filth from mice. Piss stains, poop droppings, mattresses and pillows that were in bags have been chewed into and left with holes. I went to the office at 9:30a this morning (they open at 9:00a). Open sign was turned off and door was locked. 9:00a opening time was posted on their window. I went to my car and tried calling the number for Iron Guard and their automated message told me to stay on the line and someone would be right with me. It played that message over and over for 10 minutes while I waited for them to answer their phone. They never did and they also never opened up their office during that time. I had gone there this morning to give my vacate notice. Guess I will have to waste my time again tomorrow. This makes me even more anxious to terminate my business with them. I do not recommend this storage facility at all. They are greedy and don't do anything to improve their grounds and units. Maybe new ownership will bring some needed changes but so far in the last 6 months I haven't noticed anything except for new signs that say Iron Guard Storage and the biggest increase in rent price that I have ever seen at a storage unit. Also, 172nd is a traffic nightmare and getting in and out of this place can be frustrating to say the least. With the Amazon building and tons of other construction in the area, it will only get worse.

If it is still the same owner / managers of the once named Papa Lockers as before, & if still the "Ma & Pa" of which you can see pictured out in front of a gate with the pups and the name banner behind them)- well then, i can assure you fully that you'll never find a better place to do buisness! Your stuff will be safe and youll find comfort in knowing this from day one! I stored with this family uber Papa Lockers DBA years ago for many years and i honestly can tell you this: they literally saved me time an time and time again. Many times my stuff could have been auctioned but instead they worked with me they helped me figure out a plan and get back on track they locked me out when i really feel behind but they never sold my stuff and they could have. I was honest with them about every single up and down with my health and lay off. Was truthful and they did more than they ever needed to help me not loose the last remaining part of my normal life before all of the bad began that made it hard to keep up on my bill . Eventually I was able to get my bill right and move my things out and I hope I never forget . They're kindness gave me so much more than I can explain in just a Yelp . I have never since met such a kind and caring person in business. I owe them so much keeping my stuff truly safe and remaining mine. They saved me little bits at a time in a way that continuously keeps on from their faith shown *not just in myself, but towards the good that they manage to spot inside all people! I hope one day they read this and hear me say thank you for all that you did for me for all the times you kept my items safe kept my bill low let me make my payments late and tried to help me so that I didn't lose my stuff with ample warnings . After only 6 to 7 months renting a 10 x 25 unit, Glacier West increased my rental rate nearly 11%…read more I emailed them 3 days ago and have not received a response. During 4 years of renting with a small storage facility, Chain Lake Storage, in Monroe, WA, my rental rate was only increased 2 x's at a fair, reasonable amount. The staff there were very accessible and super great people to work with. Glacier West advertises a lower rate on line to lure customers in then seems to employ a bait and switch scam, it appears to me, to up rates months later. I think 1 year or more to increase rates 5% max is fair and reasonable to deal with inflation. Not 10.9% 6 months into leasing.
