What a breath of fresh air. After the HORRENDOUS treatment and (lack of) service by PODS in the Tacoma, WA area, I cancelled the PODS delivery and called UNITS (after reading the GREAT reviews of UNITS and AWFUL reviews of PODS) I went to the Units website and ordered four containers to be delivered tomorrow. I then placed a call to schedule the delivery which was answered by a LIVE person who had just seen my online request. He said "it sounds like you need the container ASAP so if you would like two of them delivered this afternoon we can do that and deliver the other two the following day". And they ACTUALLY followed through on their promise. They were kind, respectful, honest and prompt. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND UNITS located in Kent, WA. read more

Nobody likes moving. Moving day is the worst day ever. UNITS makes it a little bit more bearable with how easy and convenient it is to use their storage containers. Their robot that moves the storage unit is also really cool. It was the same guy who dropped off and picked up the storage container at both originating and destination addresses -- I forgot his name, but he was super nice. He was able to park the UNITS precisely however I wanted to on our driveway. With the opening towards the garage and on the right side. We paid for storage for a few weeks for the UNITS and nothing was damaged. The driveway to our new house is steeper than most but the UNITS didn't budge an inch while we moved things in and out of it. UNITS was the smoothest part of our move. Compare the UNITS Yelp reviews with PODS and other competitors and there is no comparison. Don't even waste your time. Go with UNITS and you'll be happy. read more

Fantastic service. Every drop-off and pick-up was on time, quick, and easy to set up over e-mail (just be sure to give 10 days notice). A rep was even able to look at Google Maps to give their input about dropping a storage pod in my small and hard-to-reach driveway. We had a great experience with UNITS. We got our floors refinished so we had our furniture stored in a unit on our driveway-- which is long and narrow, there is no way their truck would fit down it (9' wide). The skilled operator put the unit on a smaller platform with wheels and used a remote control to drive the unit down our precarious driveway. He maneuvered it beautifully and parked it squarely in our driveway. UNITS was very communicative, even responding to one of my emails late in the evening. Very glad I used this service. I moved out of one home and didn't move into the next home for 2-1/2 months. Yes, I could have saved a wee bit of money renting trucks and using storage units... but was SO glad I didn't; because we would have moved FOUR times instead of twice! (Once into the truck, once into storage unit, again into a truck, then a fourth move into the final destination.) It saved so much time just moving into the storage unit, then from the storage unit into the final destination. Plus, for reasons I don't fully understand, the other similar services I tried to get bids from didn't even service my area. The Unit itself was great! They were able to maneuver into a narrow driveway. My complaint is on the billing. I emailed on Jan 29 that the Unit could be picked up on March 1, or after February 28. In the contract it says they need 7 days notice, so when I was billed for March, I was surprised and thought it was a mistake. When I called, he emailed me back essentially saying that since it went past February 25 (my auto payment date), I had to pay for the whole month. I feel like he was somewhat dishonest about it. For example, when I emailed him, he could have said, "If you are out by February 25, we don't have to charge for a whole month, for three days." But he didn't and I got charged an extra $187. read more

Simplifies moving. Pack the UNIT, they take to their warehouse, ready to be moved to the final destination. Storage is a little expensive, but the convenience of only have to pack and unpack one is worth it. They're easy to work with. I ordered a second UNIT by phone and they had my previous work order from last week, so it only took a minute or two. The contract is 10 pages of easy to read conditions and qualifiers. There was nothing for me to object to, it all seemed reasonable. Of course it hasn't been delivered to it's final destination, but the whole process is so simple that I don't foresee any problems. read more

The best experience I have ever had and I'm in the customer experience business! We are doing a major purge of belongings, downsizing, and temp relocation while our house is remodeled. We looked for a storage solution and hated to do the regular public storage thing. We settled on PODS and made the arrangements. The delivery arrived on time but we didn't know about the room required for the huge POD delivery machine. Our backs were against the wall on timing and we went back to the drawing board and within an hour had found Dan and Units, and had a Units storage cube on its way. I watched the videos on line while we waited, I was amazed by the robot loader that needed no room and eased the unit into the driveway. So cool. The delivery guy was wonderful, Dan helped us out of a jam, and when we figured out we would need help to load it we went back to Dan and he connected us with Kendric at Acme. They had the whole thing loaded in 2 hours! I cant say enough great things about Dan and Units. I wish I found them before now. read more

I needed to store most of my furniture and personal items in order to "empty" my house in order to sell it. UNITS brought the storage unit to my street (I recommend arranging to have the parking blocked off if you live on a narrow street like I do) and picked it up once I had it filled. They took the unit to their Renton storage location (charging a monthly storage fee) and then delivered it to me on Vashon Island (some companies won't deliver to Vashon) on the day I needed it, positioned it exactly where I wanted it to make unloading easy, and picked it up after I was done. The delivery person is very careful about COVID-19 and was skillful in maneuvering the unit under difficult conditions (3 contractors' trucks and another truck delivering a generator all at the same time.) It's not cheap but well worth the money and they were very clear about the total cost from the beginning. read more

Dan and crew got us in at the last minute, walked us through the process, and delivered a unit less than 24 hours later (on a Saturday!). Delivery driver walked me through the process and very adeptly steered the unit into position with extreme precision. Dan walked me through the process, the contract, and the billing. After submitting an online quote with several vendors he was the only one who actually reached out personally and was still within a standard deviation of everyone else's prices. Units of Kent delivered a 10x10 portable storage unit to my home. Using their remote system they maneuvered the unit up a very steep driveway without any damage to the driveway or surrounding area. When we open the unit it was clean and looked new. Once we loaded the unit, It was removed from our driveway on the time of day we requested. Units in Kent, Washington stored our pod for approximately four months. When it was time to deliver the pod to our new home, once again everything was done professionally and with great communication. When we opened the unit at our new home all of the contents were just how we place them originally. Dan is the man we communicated with. He was awesome with text and emails, often replying within minutes. The remote control system they use to maneuver the storage units is amazing and you should be able to get these and many difficult spots. Inquiries/communication: Dan responded promptly to our initial inquiry, He was professional, courteous, and patiently answered all my questions (which were many since we were storing many family heirlooms), Scheduling: Amazing! The closing on our home was postponed at the last minute and we had to call Dan to reschedule the delivery of our UNIT. No problem! He also offered some suggestions to help us save time and money, and delivered the UNIT on the new date as promised. On the scheduled pick-up date, a cancellation had skewed their original schedule, but Dan kept me updated on the new ETA by phone and email throughout the afternoon. UNIT placement: SO COOL! We asked whether we could have our UNIT placed in a specific area that has a narrow opening. Dan said that as long as the clearance around the top and sides were good, they'd give it a try. Well, whatever that robot gizmo is that they use to move the UNIT...wow! Talk about precision!! Dan placed the UNIT right where we wanted it, with the door facing away from the street and toward our entrance (especially helpful during our occasional midnight runs to the UNIT for some necessary item that we forgot to bring in before retiring for the evening)! And when Jon arrived to pick up the UNIT, he had several people from our neighborhood as an audience...that robot thing that they use to move the units is just so cool! You really have to see it to believe it. The UNIT itself: We had our UNIT for 3 months. The UNIT was so clean that it looked practically new. Clean, spacious - and designed and constructed to keep the contents dry and insect/rodent free. We were thrilled when we entered our UNIT during and after the recent torrential rains and found everything perfectly dry. The entire container is some sort of heavy duty metal - including the roof - and the roof is designed with an overlap around the perimeter to keep out the elements - so important during Seattle's raining fall and winter season! Cost: Very reasonable! We had been storing items in a local storage place prior to our move and, while we were very happy with that particular facility, we really wanted to have our belongings nearby since we now needed to store clothing and other daily use items during our renovation. The cost of our UNIT was comparable to the off-site storage unit we had been using, and the UNIT provided us the convenience of on-site storage...we could access it 24/7 without having to drive anywhere. And, as mentioned earlier, there were no hidden costs - no unpleasant surprises. When we scheduled the UNIT, Dan provided a detailed breakdown of costs, so we knew up front how to budget. I needed to move out my old house and temporary stayed in my friend house for 2 weeks before I can finally moved to my new house. Consider how many business/contractors/services I need to use. UNITS easily be the best business overall in this whole process (well, beside my real estate agent). That's really the way how a business should run. In short, good price, good value of product and good service. 1. Price Compared at least 4 other similar type of service include PODS, U-Haul storage box, etc. They are the best in price per cubic foot of storage. 2. Setup the rental process Easy, simple and clear. Every charges are show upfront and being broken down including the initial delivery and re-delivery and the monthly rent. Believe me, since I research others service, it's not necessary like that... I almost sign up for another service before I read their review... 3. The storage itself Nothing special here. As described in their web page - size wise and structure wise but SUPER clean. I even feel guilty to put stuff in it.... 4. Delivery/Re-delivery That's something I can't review. I personally not at home every time they come. But nothing to report mean good I think. 5. Customer service The best of the best. Dan (may be the owner??) always communicate with me days before delivery and pick up of the containers. He call me on follow up the schedule even before my wife remind me to call them! Our new house has delayed closing and they have no problem and really flexible to re-deliver the container on ever changing date. They are really the most reliable party in the whole process when everybody else being not reliable. Terrible situation for me! I have been charged $500 for NOTHING but upset and stress!! Please be VERY CAREFUL before you do business with these people. It may work for you, but it sure did not for me :( In a rush to move I called UNITS to rent one of their storage pods. Over the phone Dan was extremely nice and assured me that he could get one delivered on Saturday (I called on Thursday). However, once I received the contract - OMG make sure you check this out - there are so many charges for every little thing and so many conditions - I became concerned and had Dan send the contract to my husband (who negotiates contracts on a daily basis!) He decided that this was a very one sided and unfair contract and we would not go ahead with the rental of the UNIT. We did not sign the contract or the credit card authorization and told Dan that we were concerned about the contract on Friday - he did not get back to us and as we had not signed either the contract or credit card we assumed this meant that we would not be getting the UNIT. We did NOT get the UNIT but we have been charged $500 for NOTHING! Buyer beware ..... Anyone who really thinks it is ok to make a $500 charge like this is not someone I would ever want to do business with. read more

We ended up needing a storage solution because of lag time between selling our house and getting into our new one. I am SOOO happy we went with Units. Dan has TERRIFIC customer service and made it an easy process. We ended up needing 3 Units for our 2 bedroom house and they were delivered and picked up exactly on time. And NOTHING broke! They have a robotic thing that moves them around, and it must be awesome because I really expected a bit of a jumble when we opened one of them that we had packed with nothing square (all our weirdly shaped things). But NOTHING was broken. A few things had shifted in the front, but I was really impressed with how nothing moved so much to break, not even frames and a glass table top. I was looking for a storage container which was large enough to contain the majority of our furniture for a move. I inquired pricing through the Units website for delivery to the current house, rental for a month, and delivery/pick up from the new house. For the 16' container, the price was the best I could find and the quote was instantly calculated on the website. Immediately after my inquiry, Dan from Units gave me a call to answer my questions and set up the rental. The Unit was delivered without any problems and I was happy to see that the container was very clean. Looks new! And all of our items stayed dry in the container through pouring rain! The unit was great and all, but I really must give a rave review to Dan for being accommodating beyond expectations! He really helped me out despite last minute changes on delivery time and date. This is by far the easiest portable storage system out there. The technology they use for delivering and picking up the unit is so compact and smart. It can be used on Seattle's residential streets as long as you have two street parking spots together blocked off for them. So simple! Like everyone else I've done my research comparing Pods, U-Haul Ubox, Door to Door, SmartBox, Pack-Rat, etc. From the start Dan Domingo went out of his way to provide all of the detailed information I asked for and usually within a few hours! His responsive time and responsiveness is incredible. We're in a unique situation where we close on the sale of our condo and the house we are moving into on the same day. The anxiety that comes from moving and coordinating all of the details is more than overwhelming - but you know what? Dan has taken a huge chunk of that away. I know without a doubt that the container we order will show up as promised and that they will be proactive about calling to confirm the delivery time window. In addition because of our same day closings - we are concerned that we may not be able to move in the same day - if there is a hiccup. I asked Dan if they could accommodate a last minute change and guess what - he said YES! How many companies would do that - AND do so at no additional charge? I've always worked in customer service and am usually disappointed at the lack of follow thru or putting the customer first. I just got my container yesterday, and I was really pleased. They were very flexible with delivery, bringing it within hours of when I asked for it. They sold me some lights and a lock, which was great to have and reasonably priced. The pod is cool. It's all metal, and has easy open doors. I think it's brand new. And, they drove this cool robot gizmo down my steep driveway, and fit it into my carport. It's perfect. And, the price was a tad lower than PODS. read more
