I have many health issues related to Service-Connected chemical exposure to Dioxins-A/O from the 1960's. HBOT: Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Update For Coronavirus post-viral syndrome: Mine was a combination of EBV, Shingles, Chronic Fatigue and Neuro-inflammation. Many of you have asked me if the HBOT therapy has been helping with my cognitive dysfunction and extreme exhaustion from having coronavirus. The answer is YES. So far I've been in the tank for 50 hours and have another 40 hours to go. It takes commitment and calm. I have known Janine Thill, the program director, and her staff since about mid-2011. Working with her twice a week, I had an opportunity to see her and her staff in operation from a sort-of insider's point of view. I've been around when things are going fine and when there are stressors present. The general vibe is quiet, professional, pleasant, competent, clean, organized, and top-level. From an equipment point of view, everything is top-of-the-line. There are three large steel hyperbaric tanks with plenty of glass windows to prevent feelings of claustrophobia or confinement. One of the tanks is either the biggest in Northern California or as big as any other. During treatments, you can watch DVDs, listen to music, or take a nap. It's all very unremarkable in that there is no drama to the process. The results, however, can be dramatic. There are photos of gnarly-looking wounds that have been healed and amputations prevented. There are numerous thank-you letters to view. I'm a stickler for many things, and I appreciate the extremely pure filtered water in glass glasses, the you-wouldn't-know-it cork flooring, and the strict adherence to and exceeding of all regulations.The facility is so well-run and professional that there are negotiations under way to treat the athletes of an elite professional sports organization for injury healing. Janine has a big heart. Although the facility charges no more than about 20% of a hospital's fees and isn't rich, she has established the Hope for Healing Foundation, which donates treatments to indigents. Having read about and seen the effects of high-pressure pure oxygen on the body, I continue to be highly impressed by new realizations. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) can bring improvement to a wide range of conditions, including the normal problems of aging in healthy individuals. Alzheimer's prevention, anyone? One of the younger clients told me he had regained the sight in one eye, his balance, and his health.I was surprised to learn that there was a chiropractor in the same building when they were at Larkspur Landing who is advertising his HBOT but uses a collapsible tank. Those are only approved for altitude sickness, like on mountains. They cannot withstand the same internal pressures as the steel tanks. He doesn't use pure oxygen, and the effects of such treatments can be worse than doing nothing. He seems to be accelerating oxidation, which causes rust and degradation, as opposed to oxygenation, which is healing down to the bone and into the brain. He's upstairs, contrary to regulations which require HBOT facilities to be on the ground floor for safety. He doesn't seem to be the greatest guy I've heard about. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy completely changed my life. After being in and out of various doctors appointments and even trips to the ER for all kinds of symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with Lyme disease and 2 potentially fatal co-infections at 16. I was put on heavy-duty antibiotics which, as expected, made me feel worse and worse. After about a year of various antibiotics, I thought I would never be myself again. I mostly gave up hope as time went by and I was expected to be normal again although I really wasn't, but at the suggestion of a family member I decided to give hyperbarics a try. I am physician with an autoimmune syndrome who developed a fungal bone infection that usually only occurs in people with severe immune suppression. I was treated with multiple different oral and Intravenous anti-fungal medications for more than 8 months total, had 3 surgical bone debridements and nothing worked (and I had a pulmonary embolus as a complication of one of the infections). My Kaiser Doctor referred me to AHR for a series of hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions ( the medical profession calls the sessions "dives") in conjunction with massive doses of a powerful antibiotic. I had an ischemic stroke about a year and a half ago which affected the whole right half of my body, and I've been going to Advanced Hyperbaric Recovery for about 30 treatments or two months. Also, because of my stroke, I had two seizures about a year ago leaving me postictal. I wish I knew about this then!
