His manner is kind and considerate and, when he came into the room, he introduced himself as Forrest - not Dr. Murphy - and extended his hand. How many doctors do that!? He quickly assessed the issues and said "Would you like me to take care of that now?" Not "call my front desk to schedule another appointment" but "now"! I was beyond happy to say "yes!". He took me into another room to take care of a PCO issue in both eyes which he handled in literally seconds and said I was "all done". The results are so wonderful. I cannot praise Forrest Murphy enough for his demeanor, his compassion and his expertise. Wow!

I purchased prescription glasses from this location in September 2025. The glasses were not correct and had to be returned and remade twice. After the second remake, they still were not right, and I returned them to the Palm Desert office. I never received usable glasses. For months, I tried to resolve this directly with Acuity Eye Group. I made numerous phone calls, left messages, and repeatedly asked for help. I was told that someone would contact me, but the follow-up was extremely poor. At one point, I was told by Claudia at the Palm Desert location that my refund had been approved but had not yet been processed. Because I never received usable glasses and still needed corrective eyewear, I eventually had to take my prescription and purchase glasses elsewhere at my own expense. I disputed the original charge with Bank of America and provided extensive documentation about what happened. Unfortunately, Bank of America ultimately denied my claim because I could not provide a receipt from Acuity showing that I returned the glasses. Acuity Eye Group did not provide me with a return receipt when I returned them, and they will not provide one now. What happened today was especially frustrating. I called Acuity Eye Group again asking for documentation of the return, and I was actually told that I "do not have an account with the Palm Desert location." I find that astonishing considering I purchased my glasses there, dealt with that office regarding two remakes, returned the glasses there, and spent months communicating with them trying to obtain my refund. So I am now in the position of having paid for prescription glasses that I do not have, being unable to obtain the documentation showing that Acuity took the glasses back, and being told that I don't even have an account at the location where all of this occurred. I have made every reasonable effort to resolve this directly and privately. I did not want to resort to leaving a public review, but after months (almost one year) of calls, messages, an unprocessed refund, and now being told there is no account for me at this location, I feel other consumers should know about my experience. I would still welcome Acuity Eye Group correcting this situation by locating my records, providing written documentation that the glasses were returned, and issuing the refund I was previously told had been approved.

I wrote an email to the Dr. outlining all that took place. I did not receive a response. I missed going there in 2017 , but went in late 2018 and essentially went through the same thing. The Doctor told me that my vision had not changed appreciably and that I would need a pressure test. Two weeks later I was called and told they forgot to the test for peripheral vision. After that test two weeks went by and the called and said that I was very close to having glaucoma and needed to have laser treatment or start drops as soon as possible. I asked the associate what my pressure score was and she didn't know what that was. I was called back and told it was 14. I started on the drops and after 3 weeks my vision was worse and my eyes hurt from the drops. I made an appointment for the procedure, but decided to have another doctor provide some insight and opinion. He told me I was a "soft case" for glaucoma and had a reaction to the drops. I take a medication that has " floppy irises" as a side effect. He was able to adapt his procedure to account for that, and it went very well.
