What was most upsetting was hearing the practice manager MARY CLYMER say, "We just give pills." That statement alone perfectly summarized the experience. We were seeking actual medical evaluation and support for my husband suffering chronic spinal pain and limited mobility, not a rushed prescription visit with no compassion or meaningful assessment. To then be told he could return and pay even more money ($150 to $300) for another evaluation after already spending hundreds of dollars ($350) was incredibly frustrating. Patients are being extorted and demeaned in person and over the phone by admin staff. $350 for 5 minutes is enough to submit my formal complaint to the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners. This office presents itself professionally, but our experience felt cold, dismissive, and heavily focused on collecting payment rather than genuinely helping patients in pain. My husband sought treatment at a pain management office after spine surgery because he lost insurance coverage and now has to pay out of pocket while living on disability income. Unfortunately, our experience with this office was extremely disappointing from start to finish. At the first appointment, almost nothing was accomplished because the office claimed they did not have his medical records. I personally offered the records to the front desk, but there seemed to be little interest in obtaining or reviewing them. As a result, we paid for what felt like a completely unnecessary visit just to be told they could not properly evaluate him. I spoke with the Dr.Sharma directly about this and he stated he would address it with his staff. Before scheduling a second appointment, I specifically contacted the office (disrespectful rep) to ask whether the doctor would complete long-term medical disability update forms, because these appointments cost hundreds of dollars and we could not afford to waste money. I was told they "Normally don't," but that the doctor "sometimes makes exceptions." Based on that information, we scheduled and paid for another visit hoping he would finally receive a proper medical evaluation. Instead, my husband was treated with open irritation by the front desk staff. The woman at reception spoke to him rudely, acted annoyed by basic questions regarding billing, and repeatedly stated she "didn't know" why charges were so high. He was unexpectedly told he owed $350 due to a prior balance we were never informed about. Rather than helping clarify anything, the staff directed him elsewhere and treated him like an inconvenience. A black woman whose name I was not able to obtain was bouncing her leg aggressively to make her annoyance pronounced. The actual medical visit lasted no more than five minutes. He was not properly evaluated for pain management. He was not asked to demonstrate mobility limitations, identify pain areas, discuss restrictions, or explain the severity of his symptoms in any meaningful way. He was simply prescribed medication and sent out the door. Days later, we were informed the doctor would not complete the disability paperwork after all. The explanation given was based on an older follow-up note from another provider stating he "may" be able to return to work in several months. I only provided that previously completed form so the office would have a point of reference when filling it out. The entire reason we paid for the appointment was so this office could conduct their own professional evaluation and determine his current limitations. The form I am referring to was only 1 page long. We believe Dr.Sharma's office is forcing unnecessary visits for financial gain, this is unprofessional conduct facilitated by front desk. There is also an additional $100 random drug testing fee that they may charge you for whenever they see fit. Please read all the reviews before entrusting your care with this facility. read more

Incompetent staff undermining good medical care I had a very positive first impression with Dr. Sharma himself--he was thorough, clear, and I trusted his plan for my pain management. Unfortunately, his staff have repeatedly failed me and put my health at risk. Calls and voicemails to schedule appointments, get documentation submitted to insurance, or request refills are not returned. I was given misinformation about the prior authorization process (told insurance could not provide billing info due to HIPAA, which was completely false). Multiple incorrect prior authorization submissions left me without medication, leading to withdrawal symptoms and uncontrolled pain. The office manager and staff have been unprofessional, dismissive, and even hostile when I asked for accountability. On one occasion I ended a call in tears, and even my pharmacist was reduced to tears after trying to work with them. Despite me personally resolving issues with my insurance, the office still claimed nothing was fixed. The contrast is heartbreaking: Dr. Sharma is excellent, but his staff are incompetent and unprofessional, and they directly undermine patient care. The front office staff and nurse practitioner are absolute trash. Not only can you NEVER get through by phone, but when you do their front office staff are so incompetent prescriptions don't get filled and referrals get lost. Not only that, but they scheduled my partner for the entirely WRONG procedure and imaging testing for his pain. The doctor himself is great, however, his staff make this place a LITERAL hell to deal with. If i could give zero stars i would, dont waste your time. Very hard to get them on the phone and they are also bad at responding to voicemails and calling you back. I've had an issue with a referral not being set for several months now. I had to call once again and luckily got someone on the phone but they very short and rude. No empathy for what I've dealt with their office. Do not use this office if you can avoid it. The staff is absolutely horrendous. They are argumentative and will tell you the doctor does not want to see you. You will have voice-mail from their staff for an appointment, and upon returning the call, they will argue that no one ever called you. They do return voice-mail. You have to call multiple times a day for many days to reach a live person. Appointment availability is very far between dates. I have, on multiple occasions, had the staff call.me.and day I need to make earlier or I would have to schedule for two to three weeks out. Just add another bad review to the pile. Yes, the office staff are incompetent, talked badly about the Dr. P in front of a completely full waiting room. They have never answered the phone or been able to even get through since I started going here 6 months ago. Dr. S is a vindictive one. I spoke up about having no problem scheduling with Dr. P, who was my initial Dr if the 20 ppl in the waiting room were all for Dr. S, and Dr. P is asking for patients, and I'll gladly volunteer. Dr. S didn't like that, immediately had me drug tested, and said I could schedule with Dr. P my next visit. The next visit rolls around, and I'm still seeing Dr. S, and what do you know? My drug screen comes back positive for a drug I've never even heard of, let alone take. (I swear, and I'm not even taking anything heavy for my horrible pain.) Now let's talk pain. Both doctors make you feel like a complete loser for asking for pain management. I am in pain. I have so many tears and crushed things in my body, take your pick. Tried surgery that was less complicated and it failed. I don't trust Dr's here. I'm waiting until I move back East next year. That's my choice. I don't want to be paralyzed. Dr. S sure pushes the cortisone injection surgeries and what a surprise! Not only was I treated so poorly at the surgery center, he never came in before surgery, I woke up not able to move my arm, and it's been 10 days now, and my pain is so much worse! My arms keep going numb and then my shoulders are shooting/stabbing pain. The surgery protocol is horrendous. No call from the office, no follow up, no talk about expectations, didn't see him in pre-op, and definitely not in post-op. Now with my biopsy just the month before? My Dr and the surgery center were on top of things, (still had complications but they handled it professionally) I felt like a real person. I have an appointment scheduled on Monday at 8:30 a.m. I called on Thursday, during office hours, to cancel. No one answered and it eventually went to voicemail. I left my name, DOB and phone number, telling them the day and time of my appointment, nd that I wanted to cancel it. I did nit hear anything back. Today, Saturday, I received a text reminding me of my appointment and that there is a $25 fee if you don't cancel at least 24 hours in advance. I called again today and left another voicemail message saying that I am canceling the appointment. Just to be sure, I went to their website to try to leave a message. On the doctor's profile, it says you can leave a message on the "Contact US page. It says the same thing on the page for existing patients. However, when you go to the "Contact Us" page, it just has a phone number. There is no place to leave a message. I'm just waiting to see if they try to charge me $25. read more

Get ready for a wait, while people who show up an hour after you (seeing the same dr) are taken back, as well as the added bonus of the staff hanging up on your incoming calls! The Doctor and nurse were great, however the experience was not worth the pain of dealing with a front staff that could care less. I called on 3 different occasions over a 1 month period and was just hung up on several times. This included just trying to make the initial appointment, which looking back, should have been my first sign of trouble. The pain and suffering she has experienced resulted in removal of the stimulator here in the last few weeks( thankfully NOT performed by Parikh ). Avoid at all costs. I'm so angry I'm shaking (and in tears). Dr. Satish Sharma doesn't just have TERRIBLE bedside manners, he truly does not care about his patients. Besides the 1-hour wait, the office is positively frigid - like shivering, can't-feel-your-toes cold. If you mention it, he shrugs and says it feels fine to him. He asks you questions, then interrupts your answer. On the off chance that you are actually able to blurt out most of the answer before he cuts you off, he says, "That doesn't matter." He must have told me what I had to say didn't matter at least a dozen times. He saw on my chart that at one time I had been on a specific pain reliever after a surgery. He asked why I was not taking it now. I told him it did not work for me. It did not relieve my pain. I stopped taking it, and won't take it again for obvious reasons. Most of my symptoms are quite visible. He said these didn't matter. He wrote me two prescriptions and a referral for an extremely expensive test. He said he specifically chose the prescriptions based on my insurance. We go to the pharmacy. One prescription is indeed not covered by my insurance, and far too expensive for me to gamble on. The other prescription is - you guessed it - the one I literally JUST told him did not work on me. We have now wasted 4 hours of the day on a very expensive wild goose chase. I called the office to let them know that both prescriptions were useless to me. Their answer? Go back to the pharmacy, get the prescriptions, bring them to his office and M-A-Y-B-E he would try something different. The receptionist was nice, but she said she couldn't make any guarantees. I told her to let him know that he completely demolished any trust this new patient could give him. He showed he wasn't interested in me as a patient or even as a fellow human. REMEMBER, THIS IS A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR - this is literally his focus, his sole practice, the name of his clinic. This means he has only two jobs: 1. Listen to patients 2. TERRIBLE......if it wasn't nessary for me to go to this offoce once a month for chronic pain I wound not subject myself to the stupidity of the staff that works at the desks and answer the phones. These people treat patients like a number and they do not care if you are getting your medication from the pharmacy or going through withdrawals etc. I have been dealing with this office for years and they seem to get worse every year, it's your word against the staff because The providers do nothing about your complaints or even care to hear you out. Staff changes every 3 months or so. When you leave messages they do not listen to anything you're telling them and just leave their own messages in whatever way that they want to. The experience my grandmother and I had with Dr. Sharma's-Advanced pain management was absolutely terrible from beginning to end. It started from the time I called to schedule an appointment for my grandmother. I had all her information ready to go, and they were going back and forth with me to try and find her insurance when I was told it was accepted from the beginning. I finally was told she was all set and scheduled. My grandma and I showed up to her appointment more than an hour early to make sure her paperwork was done properly, and as soon as we arrived we were told the appointment was scheduled wrong, and we were left standing there for quite some time. She finally returned, and said she could be seen by a PA, as there wasn't a doctor there which when I called I requested to see an actual doctor. We then were left waiting over an hour to see a very unprofessional PA. The front desk was also very unprofessional, as they used foul language in front of us multiple times. They were very rude and had no customer service what so ever. As we were waiting to see one PA, we over heard a customer right in front of us complain about the PA she just saw, and reported she never wanted to see this man again. This now left my grandmother feeling uncomfortable before even being seen. Once my grandmother was seen by this lady PA that seemed half asleep, and didn't seem to care much, or do much other than write my grandmother out four different scripts. She also asked ME if I knew a medical term for the left knee! Uhh excuse me? Why are you asking the patients granddaughter how to do your job?! It was a total joke. I then took my grandmother to fill her prescriptions to find out she couldn't even fill them because they were written out incorrectly. They tried multiple times to get through to the office, and could not. My grandmother went back to the office the next day to let them know the mistake and they were no help to her and very rude! I had back surgery and the next day I experience some complications and pain. I tried calling the Henderson office many times but no one was answering the phone, it just went to voicemail. I left several messages asking for a response as soon as possible. I did not receive a call back until several days later. This is not acceptable. The office staff is very young, not that ambitious and lacks training. If you are in need of more staff than hire them. Where do I begin with this place! Office staff is very unprofessional, sloppy, lazy, eating at the front desk, ignoring you while they finish a personal conversation, act they would rather be anywhere but there. Quick to ask and take your deductible or copay but HORRIBLE to get a refund from. I have been trying for 8 weeks and no one seems to have any record of my five requests for a refund. Dr. Sharma preformed procedures on my C4 and C5 without anesthesia that most doctors would routinely use anesthesia. Needless to say why I won't go back and why I'm requesting a refund. I have seen this doctor for several years. Over the last 6 months I have been turned away from my appointments on 4 different occasions. First time I was 15 minutes late, second I did not have a co-pay. 3rd I was given a drug test and because I had 2 types of pain medication in my system (both of which were prescribed to me by this doctor) I was discharged. I was told to start looking for another physician. I was told as I was exiting that day that the PA that discharged me was leaving and I could probably appeal the discussion. 2 weeks later I was called by this office and was scheduled an appointment. The call was initiated by this doctors office. When I arrived today after waiting a month to see him, I was turned away again stating I was discharged and the appointment was made by mistake by their office and they could not see me and I had plenty of time to find another doctor. I stopped looking for another doctor because this office called and booked me an appointment. I am now unable to obtain pain medication for my surgery where I had 11 screws and a bar surgically installed in my leg. This office treats patients like cattle call. They do not listen to patients and I believe just hand out the same medications and dosages to all patients. This office is a joke!!! The first visit I waited for 2 hrs and didn't see a Dr. the nurse practitioner came in. Sent me to have an MRI and then to the surgery center which also was a joke to get a steroid shot, which hasn't helped my hip pain. They scheduled me a follow up visit which I got there before my appointment time which was at 8:00 am and they never unlocked the doors till 20 minutes later. Told me they weren't seeing patients on this day. I never received a call prior to let me know. Horrible practice. Been coming here for 9 years and they tell me per my urine sample that I'm NOT taking my opioid??? I'm so confused?? Apparently the metabolites aren't showing up!! Really?? I take my meds! I swear my life on it and I'm being treated like a piece of shit. I'm taking my chart and my so-called test results and be on my merry way. They tell me that most of my urine panels came back with a lack of metabolites. Don't you think someone should tell me?? Instead I look like an absolute liar!!!!! I would not waste your time here. The worst thing about this whole ordeal is that Dr. Birkhead (the head of practice) won't see me. You call me a liar and now you won't see me so you can explain things to me?? But no, you go hide. I've been a patient here for a few years' As a professional Doctor Sharma is highly qualified and knowledgeable. However he does lack a bedside manner. But, to be honest I believe that the best doctors do lack a bedside manner and it doesn't bother me. It's all down to the facts and what he can do to relieve your pain. And I'd rather have the facts and realistic expectations. The office staff is friendly. I've had billing issues but, Doctor Sharma took care of it. The office is always clean. It can be difficult to get an appointment I have recommended Doctor Sharma to friends. His knowledge, intelligence and thoroughness is something you don't see everyday . this pain management doctor is the rudest doctor ever!!!! when i first came to see this doctor i try to talk and explain about my exrays i had done on my upperspain and lower spain and my right shoulder being served i gave him copies of the exrays i was intears do to my pain. he told me stop crying and gave me a prescription and say i see you in a month. i came back the second time and again try to talk with him and he told me shhhhhh and sit down. i told him i came here cause i wanted his help to get my problem fix! what can you do? he say nothing and wrote me another prescription. i told him that he is the rudest doctor ever! am not here for narcotic drugs am here to see if there was anything he can do to fix my problem like surgy? he walk out and say i will see you next month. i told him like hell i will fine another doctor who will take the time and talk with me and listen to me and look at my xrays. i rate it 1 worst and rudest doctor ever! read more
