This establishment is unfriendly, unprofessional and unwelcoming. After waiting over 6 months to be seen I was given a follow-up appointment at 9:30am. They called the day before to tell me the earliest they can do is 10am even though this throws off my schedule for the rest of the day. I came in 20 minutes early and waited until 10:40 to be called back. I asked several people at the office what the exact procedure is called and they evaded telling me. They would only say vague things like "it's a steroid anti-inflammatory injection" and they would not give me the name of the medication being injected. They did not walk me through what the procedure would be like, what to expect, how much pain to expect, or how many shots would be administered. I asked the nurse and doctor what the possible side effects, risks, etc of the procedure are and got varying vague answers such as "sometimes pain before it gets better." I tried to ask the doctor A few questions regarding the medication I had been prescribed and he cut me off saying "let's just get through the procedure today." As if to say "don't waste my time." The nurse was not friendly or welcoming. She didn't even smile. She told me to lie on the table and she proceded to pull my pants very far down my legs without warning. I asked what kind of pain to expect and she said rather rudely and curtly "it's hard to tell because I've never had it done on me." Okay, but surely you can comment about what others have reported? The pain was sudden and unexpected. I wasn't told that there would be a series of injections. There was sharp, sudden nerve induction pain running down my legs. I cried because I was so shocked by the sudden rush of pain. I have broken bones and never cried from the pain before. So yes, this hurt. Rather than trying to soothe me they simply said "try to stay still" while continuing to inject me and causing more pain. They seemed annoyed that I was crying and like they just wanted to get the procedure over with as soon as possible. The doctor did not answer any of my questions about medication as promised. He simply rushed out of the room after the shots were done. I have never encountered such cold behavior during a painful procedure. Nurses and doctors are usually much warmer, more encouraging and friendly. I would not come here again. read more

Terrible customer service. The front desk girls are rude, unfriendly, Monica is the worst. She refused to take my Aetna PPO insurance, delaying making any appts telling me I needed to get authorization from an insurance I do not even use anymore and does not take their dr. PPO means you can go to ANY dr. They have wasted 3 weeks of my time instead of treating me. Do not go there. Waste of time and they have no idea what they are doing. read more

Went and he said he called in my meds but didn't., what kind of pain management is that?

Zero stars. I was referred to this office for pain management on 092514. 3 weeks later, no one had contacted me to schedule my initial consult. I called the office and left multiple messages for the "scheduler" who never returned my calls. I called again in early November and was finally told that the doctor still had yet to review my medical referral to determine if I would be accepted into this practice. Also, I was not considered a priority because of my insurance type. Ridiculous protocol, but I continued to wait an additional 3 weeks with no response. Completely unprofessional and inconsiderate behavior. It is evident they refuse to accept patients of Partnership Health, despite being on their referral list. Highly do not recommend. I filed a complaint with Partnership regarding this matter. Thanks Dr. Tarasenko for wasting 2 months of my precious time, during which I could have been receiving treatment from another provider. I would've had more respect for this office if they had the professional courtesy to just call and deny my referral from the very beginning. read more

I am a 21 yr Air Force veteran with chronic back pain. I was referred to this office by DGMC at Travis AFB. I waited 30 minutes in the lobby before getting put in a room. Then much to my frustration I was "laid to rest" in that room for 40 minutes WITHOUT ever being seen by Dr. Terisenko! I asked several times where the doctor was and they said he was busy. Finally I did something I've NEVER done before...I grabbed my belongings and left. Walked right by the front counter with 2 med techs sitting there and they NEVER asked me where I was going! I never got a call afterwards and would NEVER return. This office is a patient "assembly line" and they told me its NOT unusual to wait 1 1/2 hours for initial appt. That's unacceptable! If you are thinking about going to this place for treatment, find another place. I had a very bad experience with this place. First off, I had a 2pm appt. scheduled weeks in advance. They sent me the paperwork to fill out in the mail and I filled it out and faxed it back. To help the appt. I arrived 30 mins early. I didn't get into a patient room until 3: 20pm. This is exact time with no fudging. On the paperwork it asks me to put any prescription refill information and to bring the bottles of the exact medication that I was taking. I calmly told the doctor the problems I was having and he asked me to bend over, bend backwards and take deep breaths. Then as if he was being called, he ran out of the room..twice this happened...Then he comes back and says we can set you up for a shot that might help you. Goodbye! I then said, wait a minute!! What about my prescription refill until I get the shot??? Front desk or him never asked me about the medications I was taking and also didn't ask to see the bottles of meds that I was taking. Then he asks me how long have you been on this drug? When I tell him, he whips up the government site that shows all the refills I have gotten for this medication and shows it to me. He says the best I can do is give you 2 weeks of meds and then set you up for the shot. I say ok , but then I question him about the shot. Then he changes his mind and says, we help people get off the meds and I said, that is great but I'm really concerned about that shot. Then he says, actually, I'm not going to send you with anything until you come and see me again ( another doctor visit $$$ ) And on top of that , we are booked 7 months out so there it is! I left the office owing money with no prescription to take for my current pain...Now I'm hurting with no recourse but to go back to the doctor that sent me... The absolute worst doctor, of any kind, that I've ever seen in my life! Extremely unprofessional from his wife, running the office, to himself, masquerading as a compassionate doctor. I watched at least three patients being called before me that were behind me on the list, which I saw and verified that my appointment was ahead of theirs. He actually asked me to hurry up while I first started to speak with him about my problems. He's more interested in seeing as many patients as possible; literally rushing them in and out. He's always wanting to treat his patients with very expensive meds or procedures that usually have to be paid out of pocket. He try's to prescribe addicting meds such as suboxone, and keep patients on them for extended periods of time, while padding his pockets. I have been seeing doctor Tarasenko, for about 4-5 years now and I can't say enough great things about him and also his staff. I have been going there for my opiate dependency that I had for around 16 years and because of him, I am sober. Him and his staff have been there for me through some of the toughest times in my life and I don't know where I would be today without their help. I think that he has a wide perspective on pain medications than other physicians do purely because he also deals with the addictive aspects of these medication as well. He is very aware of the opiate epidemic and I love that about him and his office staff. I have seen people come in before for an appointment and literally freak out at the office staff yelling and screaming at them because they were asked to take a drug test before filling their script. This is something that everyone has to do, it isn't something that he just does to certain individuals, and he does it for good reason. He truly wants to help people with their pain issues and do it effectively and if you are there for that, he will be there for you. The people that go here to truly get help for their pain management or dependency issues can expect real solid help with that. People that come in for other reasons expecting him to just write any scrip they want have to remember before getting upset with him and his staff that he is making sure you either aren't like me, or don't end up like me. Like I said, if you are going there for legitimate help, you will find it here. If not, just be aware of that because he runs this place the right way and is incredibly responsible yet empathetic to all that need his help. Also, I'm really surprised to read reviews about appointment issues or problems because I have never had an issue with that at all there. I always get calls back and I can always get in touch with staff. Tarasenko went out of the country for vacation to Greece I think and I needed an emergency refill while he was gone and he made sure that within 24 hours that I got it even though he was out of the country!! This has been my experience with them and like I said I have been going here for years and it has never changed. I waited 2 hours after my appointment time on my first visit. Then on the third visit it was 3 hours that is all in the waiting room. The staff really seemed nice but when I saw the Dr all he could say I'm not giving my patients none of that poison. He also tried to put a lean on a law suit I have going. But it was my medical insurance that sent me to him. When I said fine just give me something to ease the pain. Nothing ever happened other than I'm not giving any of my patience that poison. What's the difference between narcotics and the poison he is shooting into someone's back. That only lasted until I got home. read more

I was skeptical about starting Ideal Protein but after a week of being on the protocol I quickly became a believer. One of the reason I was skeptical was because unlike Jenny Craig, weight watchers and the countless of weight loss products on the market, Ideal Protein discourages exercise in what they call "phase one". As I continually slimmed down week to week I forgot about excersising. The food is delicious and I like that I can incorporate one regular cooked meal a day. I'm not dependent on "packaged" food all day, i can still have dinner at a sit down restaurant and live in the real world. I love the variety of drinks, bars, chips, soups, cookies and puddings there's to choose from. My favorite snack is a strawberry wafer, I love having chili for lunch and the bars are always great as a quick breakfast option. I'm definitely going to continue the program because it's definitely an easy weight loss program, where I'm not starved or feeling hungry all day. read more

I have had 6 surgery, 2 staff infections, been oxy for 8 years, been to doc's in San Fran, and Sacramento, and 3 suicide atempts. I was told these Docs were the best of the best. I have been dealing with pain from 1983. Doctor Tarasenko was the first doc to tell me what was going on with my back, nerve damage, arthritis, the back muscle are fighting themselves. So I have been in lower back pain since before 1983 tell I have been treated by Doctor Tarasenko. I now have spinal stimulator, some non opieds medicine. I now living a normal life with my wife, kids, grandkids. But you need to listen, and follow his instructions, Doctor Tarasenko will tell you how it is. I have been going here for years. They staff is awesome especially Emily. Dr T has helped me so much with my chronic pain. I'm always hurting but I never realized how much the injections were helping until I tried going without. Doctors have told me that surgery is not an option so that's where Dr Tarensanko comes in. Great place to go when in pain. I have been going through back pain for over 2 years. Treated by 4 therapist 1 quiropractor and 6 doctors, 2 Qme and everyone just said that with time i would get better. Xrays showed arthritis, mri showed degeneration and bulging. pain was terrible on a daily basis. When searching for a doctor i was referred to dr tarasenko. I have fibromyalgia and a couple other issues....I was deathly afraid of needles and exhausted from trying to get some relief...Dr Tarasenko has eased my pain and my fear of needles so much so that I actually look forward to getting my trigger point injections because I know that means I'll get some relief....anyone who has chronic pain can understand that word relief ...the staff here is amazing!! I have been going to see Dr. Tarasenko for 2years now. I went to him for chronic pain and to start Suboxone treatment, which is a step I decided to take to help me with my pain medication addiction. Both treatments have been very successful for me. They are really good about giving me emergency office calls if I need them, if I have an appointment at 3:00 then I get called back at 3:00, I have never had a long wait to see the Dr. His staff is so nice and friendly and really care how I am feeling after I get my injection or have a treatment. Making the decision to drive to Vacaville was the best decision I could have made. I feel Dr T saved my life. I have been a patient at APMI for a few years now. I came to Dr. Tarasenko with severe pain and on long term Rx meds. I was miserable, in pain, and stuck on pills to deal with that pain.....I was extremely fearful of what would happen but could not continue on same path any longer. I was totally open and honest with Dr T and this is something a person needs to do.....don't lie to you doctors if you truly want to get better. I have not had Rx meds for a few years now and I have had many specialized treatments to assist with my pain management. I am in less pain than I was when I was on all those Rx meds from my old Doctor. You have to understand that it is a process....with chronic pain finding what works is tricky at times. Dr. T has worked hard to target my triggers and provide relief for me. I highly recommend seeing him if you have chronic pain and need help. Remember, he is solution based, not a pill pusher so this is not the doc to see if you are searching for narcotics only. I am thankful I do not have to live like I was. I let go of fear and was transparent with Dr.T and trusted the process. I also want to add that sometimes there is an added wait and the first visit is usually a long one. Its not only pain management, but the other side of that too: getting off the pain meds. Dr. Tarasenko helped me get off the numerous opiates I was addicted too and I'm at a place in my life I've been wanting to be at but couldn't do on my own. The key is Suboxone. It wasn't easy at first, but he worked with me to get the right dosage so I could go through my day without feeling cravings and without feeling any withdrawals. He treated me as if I was a patient that he wanted to help, not as if I was somehow lower than others for being an addict, which does make a difference when you're in that state of mind. If you want to get off opiates and simply cannot make it through the withdrawals, try Suboxone, and do it exactly as prescribed, do your part and stick to it, and you will succeed. I tried several times to do it on my own and I got 30 days and still wasn't recovered. With Suboxone it has been half a year and I am very happy with myself. I am very serious, if you are on opiates, you want to quit but you have no idea how because the withdrawals are too hard on you, call Dr. Tarasenko and setup an appointment to start treatment with Suboxone. Just as I am now, you will not be let down (as long as you do your part). read more

IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS, I WOULD HAVE. I was in a car accident two years ago and still have major pain while sitting, no relief from P.T., have herniated disc,etc. I was at the office 2 hrs and 20 mins and only saw the doctor for 20 mins. I waited in the waiting room about 40 mins then was brought back to another room to wait some more then a girl came in for me to do my urinalysis, that took about 10 mins start to finish. Then I waited about 10 more minutes when she came in to take my vital signs and asked me all the questions on the forms they sent me ahead of time to fill out. There was about 6 pages and 2 pain/emotion index forms. The girl asked me all the questions on the pain form over again while entering them in the computer. I should have asked why she was wasting my time when I'd already filled that out, but was so pissed by this time, I answered as abruptly and quickly as I could. By this time we're easily at 1 1/2 hrs in this office, still no doctor. Then I went to an exam room and waited maybe 10 mins more. The doctor was beeped once and left the room. He did a brief exam and asked me about my pain level, where the car accident occurred, what happened etc. During some of my descriptions of the therapy or pain level, he interrupted me and said, "Just answer yes or no". Once I stated this was due to car accident that was all he could focus on, he kept saying he'd have his staff come in so I could fill out a lien. I informed him that wasn't necessary since I have insurance and my insurance is paying for everything, I even had auth for visit to him. He insisted that's how they run things in their office and I needed to sign the lien. I did and upon speaking with my lawyer we decided my lawyer wouldn't sign the lien. I was told by either Flor or Cassandra(forgot which) who I spoke to later on the phone, that if my lawyer didn't sign, they'd bill my insurance. I had scheduled nerve block the following week there and asked if they'd obtain auth, Flor said she would. I cancelled my nerve block as things seemed too sketchy . My lawyer just received a bill for $823!!! The claim form states NO insurance and stated not due to car accident. At least if they're going to rob a patient, they might want to get their facts straight. Needless to say, I will be calling the Dept of Consumer Affairs, BBB, and Medical Board to report him, as well as contacting my insurance company to make sure he bills them. I will also contact them tomorrow to make sure they bill my insurance. I will most likely have to pay the portion that Blue Shield writes off if this ever gets settled, live and learn!!! But RUN, RUN RUN from this quack. read more

I usually don't write reviews but I noticed some of the negative reviews and I had to share my experience. I have been going to Dr. Tarasenco for about three years now. Without getting into specifics I will start out by saying that Dr. Tarasenco literally saved my life. He knows this because I tell him almost every visit. Dr. Tarasenco and his staff have always treated me with the utmost care and respect. Throughout the years I have never seen anyone have to wait an unreasonable amount of time nor have I seen anyone disrespected. Dr. Tarasenco has a tough job. He has to sort through people who are actually there to get help for their ailments and people who are just there to TRY and obtain pain medication to feed their addictions. I assure you Dr. Tarasenco is a highly skilled and intelligent individual that will see right through you. Don't try it. Instead, If you are struggling with opiate addiction please be honest with the doctor and stop these absurd negative reviews and get a life. read more
