The MAJOR problem is their understanding of working with a home warranty company. They REFUSE to call the warranty company before doing any work and the don't follow up on the claims. I have been dealing with billing issues for almost six months because of their stubborn refusal to coordinate with the warranty company. Don't waste your time with this company.

In my younger years, I used to do these sorts of things for myself; now we have to rely on others, and in judging their performance I consider whether they've done the job as well as I probably would have. Maybe there are some issues with expectations here. I look upon a "handyman" as a resourceful, experienced, hired hand ... not as a licensed contractor ... a "Mr. Fixit", not an engineer or builder. We generally use a "handyman" to fix things are broken, replace things that are worn out, or correct mistakes made by prior occupants of our 125+ year old home. If we're ever thinking about doing a major remodel or addition, we'll be looking for a reputable licensed contractor, not a handyman ... someone we can hold to top quality building and code-compliant standards. About refuse removal ... if you're working with a handyman, that'll be your responsibility. Light accumulations can probably be combined with your weekly trash pickup for free. Anything more that that will probably cost $200 to $400 to have someone haul away (GotJunk, Bagster, dumpster, etc.). Settle this issue with your hired hand before the work begins and it won't come as an unhappy surprise later.
