Watch band broke and pieces were stuck so that we couldn't remove the part of the band to put a new one. Came to Advanced Repair Center, where we've had very positive experiences in the past. Once again, they were awesome. He fixed the issue in a few minutes and wouldn't take a payment because he said it didn't take him long. SCAM ALERT!! I had my iPhone 11 Pro (which has a "soft OLED" screen) for about three years before I cracked my screen for the first time. I got my screen repaired at Advanced Repair Center by Richard, the owner. He claimed to have replaced my cracked soft OLED screen with a new soft OLED screen, not the cheaper and inferior LCD option. It cracked again less than a week later. It broke three more times in the following couple of months. After the fourth broken screen and $600 worth of repairs at A.R.C, I took my phone to a new repair shop. They took off the screen Richard installed and showed me how they knew it was a lesser-quality LCD screen (liquid crystal display). I took it to a second expert, who also said it was an LCD screen, and he would stake his reputation on it. My screen cracked only one time in three years, and then four times in 2 months after Richard replaced my screens. I have no doubt the experts are correct. Advanced Repair Center was selling me lower-quality LCD screens but claiming they were the more expensive (and more resistant to cracking) soft OLED screens. I've included two pictures. One proves the many times I've visited that business, paying $150 for a new screen on each visit. I never received a discount, despite the fact that the materials they installed kept failing. The other is a receipt that actually states I was being sold an LCD screen. This is a case of dishonest business practices, fraudulent repairs, and substandard work. As a small business owner, I have no idea how much business I lost due to the many days I didn't have a phone because of the crappy replacement screens Advanced Repair Center was selling me. I want it noted that my initial review was a sparkling five-star review a couple of paragraphs long. I believe in giving people what they deserve, and I thought I was receiving good, honest service. I was wrong. Do not enter this shop unless you want to be swindled. They prey on people who do not know the difference between genuine Apple products and cheap knock-offs. My old Motorola cell phone finally died and since I had a new exact same cell phone that I inherited, I thought it would be a quick fix to switch over to the unused phone. Wrong. Verizon told me they could do it if I first got the screen fixed on the old one and then get a new battery for the new one (it was dead after 4 years in my drawer). Total cost was going to be almost $400 and take several days. They provided me a quick quote on Yelp and provided answers to all my questions and comforted me on bringing my device in. The quote was reasonable and better than other private mobile repair places in the area. Best yet was my screen was actually not broken but just the tempered glass screen protector was cracked so they honestly just replaced it for $25 and I was on my way. Went to this shop to get my screen repaired as my mom accidentally broke it. I paid $324.00 for a "off brand" new screen with a 1 year warranty. After looking at my phone I noticed a lot of glitches; the screen was changing different colors, keyboard wasn't working, quality was pixelated & my phone would randomly freeze. I brought my phone back to the repair shop for the 2nd time & the owner let me know it was just a software update. After updating my phone I realized I was still having the same issues. I brought my phone back to the shop for the 3rd time & the owner informed me he would just put on a new screen. After waiting 20 mins the owner told me he didn't have the screen I needed in-stock so he would have to order one. The screen he put on my phone while I waited for the new screen, is the same screen. However the screen he put on my phone has a manufacturing issue with the lighting censor. I then brought my phone back to the repair store for the 4th time & when bringing in my phone the owner said I cracked the bottom of the screen which I wasn't aware of. He told me he couldn't switch my phone to the new screen since "I broke the screen". I told the owner this is the 4th time I've had to come to his shop & that I need a new screen since I paid $324.00 for it. The owner then said that he was in a predicament because he had plans to send the manufacturing issue screen back to the company & that he wouldn't be able to with it being crack. We both sat in silence as I was getting the impression he wanted me to pay another $324.00 for another screen. I told him that this is unacceptable, took my phone & left. Now I have a screen that has a manufacturing issue, $324.00 down the drain, wasted my gas/money/time going to his shop 4 times (I live 35 mins away, I spent 4 hours driving to his shop & wasting gas all to have a screen that does not work properly). After I left the shop I called the Apple Store & turns out they would only charge $352.00 for an authentic Apple screen. Don't waste you time here, just go to Apple!!!! RESPONSE TO OWNER- Richard, you literally said you would call me when the screen came in & you never did! I had to contact you to get confirmation it was delivered, like I mentioned previously I live far & can't just drive an hour to come down to your shop every single day to constantly deal with phone issues that you couldn't seem to fix from the start. I didn't drop off my phone & "run out the door". I said hello, asked how you were & then said I needed to stop by the store across the street & I would be back in less than 30 mins. I did not know when I dropped off the phone that the screen was cracked, I'm not a timid little girl who is scared to admit to cracking the phone. I truthfully didn't know it was cracked & must've happened on my way to the shop when I put my phone in my purse. Whats EVEN worse is you are trying to attack my character by saying I'm lying, ran off & was embarrassed. I have been so kind & patient with you during this whole process!! I recently visited this shop to purchase a mobile phone and a recommended plastic film screen protector for my 12-year-old daughter. The owner was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and honest. His prices were very reasonable and fair. His work was exceptional. Unfortunately, within four months, my daughter accidentally cracked the screen. However, the plastic film screen protector that he had recommended and custom-cut for the phone remained intact, without any bubbles or peeling. Despite my warnings to my daughter to be careful with the phone and screen, accidents happen, and children can be prone to breaking screens. She cracked the screen! For her birthday, I decided to have the owner replace the screen and install another custom cut screen protector. He completed the repair within 30 minutes. I highly recommend this establishment over any other repair shops in Oceanside. In contrast, I had a negative experience at another shop on the same street, where the owner was quite rude and forgive me, an "asshole." I will not be going anywhere else for my phone repair needs. Took my device for weeks at a time. Would tell me it would be a couple days and never call. First time they took my phone it took over a month. When I got my phone back it had no service and no way to turn on. I asked the technician in the shop about this and he said to go to my carrier. Carrier had no clue what was happening and said they had messed up my phone. When I took it back they said it would take 1-2 days to fix. They never fixed it. My PS5 was overheating. I paid them $85 for dust cleaning only. Without asking me, they did their $125 service which also includes liquid metal replacement. My PS5 wasn't working as intended when I got it back from them. They refused to help with the console when I brought it back. Took it to another spot. This is what the other business found and took pictures of inside my PS5. The liquid metal is supposed to be evenly spread across the chip. They didn't even clean the fan. This is a follow up to my previous post since our phone drama is ongoing. I called Advanced Repair on Monday because my son's phone battery is no longer holding a charge like it did prior to the screen replacing. The same kid that did the replacement answered and said it was an old phone but we could bring it back for him to look at it. I expressed my hesitation because he didn't listen to us the 4x s we told him our phone wasn't a mini. He said, "ya I had a lot on my mind that day." Not trusting his work, I scheduled an appointment at the Apple Store where they ran diagnostic testing. More that likely some of the sensors were damaged when the screen was replaced. I am including a picture of the numbers on the phone were you can see lines through them. Our options are replace the screen with an Apple screen $279 but if the sensors are damaged then that would be $200. Basically we have to replace the phone. I appreciate the owner commenting on my previous post asking how to right this. A new iPhone. That's what would right this situation.
