This place helped me twice and both times they have been awesome. I was in an urgency to restart a 2017 IPhone for legal reasons, with a dead battery, broken screen...I wasn't sure the phone was actually still functional (it had been run over by a truck). The repair person (I do not know his name) didn't make me any promises. He simply said that he'll try to see if it starts and go from there. I agreed to pay some $$ for a diagnosis even though it wasn't requested when I dropped the phone. I told the repair man to charge me for a broken screen anyways if the phone was still useable. 2 hours after dropping the phone, I received a text saying that my old phone was ready, it has full access and charges well. I paid $55 for the (super fast) service. Competent, efficient and friendly staff. read more

Needed a quick fix, because I just can't do without my phone! My battery needed replaced as well as the screen protector. I was told it would be ready in 1 hour. The location was convenient. The parking is a little cramped and depending on the time, it can be a bit of a stickler trying to pull out onto the main road. I'm not on top of what it cost to have these two things done so I can't do a comparison. It was convenient. I gave 3 stars because the screen protector is either the wrong size (small) or not aligned correctly. read more

I rarely write reviews, but the terrible service from John and Lee at this business left me no choice but to let others know. My cell phone died last Saturday, and based on the great reviews for Fix My Phone SD here on Yelp, I brought my phone to their Vista location Monday morning hoping they could fix my phone or at least salvage my contacts and photos. I am self employed and need and use my phone extensively for work, so I am pretty hobbled without it. When I inquired, Lee told me that they could help me get two new laptops configured and needed programs installed on them, so I decided that if they did a good job with my phone issues, I'd bring my laptops to them. John and Lee spent about half an hour while I waited trying all the things I had already tried, then told me I'd need to leave my phone for them to work on it further. Because their printer was out of ink, they could not provide me with any proof that I'd left my phone with them upon departure. When I hadn't heard anything from them by Thursday afternoon, I phoned and John answered. He said he thought Lee had been working on it, that he would call Lee at the Escondido store, find out the status of the phone, and call me back in 15 minutes or a half hour. I did not hear back from John, so Friday morning I went to the shop. John was there. John told me he forgot about me, so I asked him the status of my phone, and he told me no one had even looked at it over the four days that they had it because they were too busy. I took the phone and went straight over to the Verizon store to purchase a new phone (at the tune of nearly $1K, thankyouverymuch!) because the folks at Fix My Phone SD wasted so much time that I could wait no longer to get my phone issues resolved. They may be good at simple things like replacing a broken screen on the spot, but I wouldn't recommend doing business with them after this experience. read more

These guys were amazing and my phone is brand new again. I cracked my iphone many months ago and haven't had the time to get it repaired. I finally decided to stop holding it off and walked into their store the other day to get it handled. They called me promptly when it was ready and these guys were great throughout the entire process. It's nice being able to use my phone without worrying about the glass coming off or staring at the terrible spiderweb it had created from continuously dropping it once it was broken. In order to leave my comments I had to give one star, these idiots deserve no stars for the lousy service and the refusal to fix the damage they caused. I took my phone to the store in Vista to get the dead battery and charging port replaced. Something told me to show the repair guy that the glass screen had no scratches on, I always kept it in an enclosed protective case, and he agreed no scratches. After two days I went to check on my phone, they had to order the parts, ok. After four more days I went back and was told that the battery they ordered was the wrong one but the charging port was installed. The repair guy is Hispanic and it was hard to understand him so he had me on the phone with some lady who explained what was happening. She then said that she would order the right battery and have it ready the next day and I could pick it up at the Escondido store. WTF, why and how is my phone now someplace else, but after being without my phone for over a week I was glad to get it back the next day. So guess what, yep the phone wasn't ready as promised, the lady said she got her days mixed up. WTF, it doesn't matter either you ordered the battery or not? So now what, the phone again was to be ready the next day at 2pm, nope, then after work. So I went to get my phone which was fixed but she needed to test its functioning operations so I unlocked it. She found that the microphone wasn't working and I said that it was working when I gave it to the OTHER shop. She said she would replace it at no charge but needed to order the part. I took my phone home and cleaned it up and guess what, I discovered deep scratches in the glass screen. I took it back to the original shop and reminded this guy about the screen being unscratched when I gave it to him. He too said it would be replaced at no charge. At this point I was frustrated by the poor service but their willingness to fix the damage they caused smooth things over. After another week this lady called me and said the parts were in and to bring the phone in before lunch and she would have it ready by the end of the day. So when I got there this bitch changed he mind and said she wasn't going to fix my phone because they did cause the damages. She then offered to give me a NEW phone, just like mine, to replace my damaged one but with no warranty? My Motorola Moto X, along with the phone she was giving me, was released in 9/2015 until 2016 and came with a one-year warranty. She was giving me a old phone with no guarantees and who knows how long it would last? I left with my damaged phone that they agreed to fix but now refused to. By offering me another phone is saying they still admit guilt to damaging my phone. I contact my credit card company and after explaining the awful service, damage to my phone and refusal to fix it, I requested a stop payment. They said they would investigate the issue and after a week the $139.00 that I paid was returned to my account. If that's all I get, then I'll take it but this is no way to run a business. It took over 8 days to replace the parts, they damaged my phone, agreed to fix it then refused and try to pawn off a probably piece of crap NEW phone. Yeah I'm not going back and after reading this YOU shouldn't go there, both in Vista and Escondido, in the first place. read more

Fix my Phone in Vista did a terrific job! My husband needed a case for his phone, and I needed a battery for my car key. The owner helped us with both, and cheerfully installed my battery at no charge. We were done in 10 minutes and would recommend them to anyone. read more

Call before coming in to get a quote. I made the mistake of coming in and not checking other places first. They have a sign inside that says iPhone screen repair prices vary - not sure why, replacing the whole screen should be a set price like every other place. They charged me $150 + tax for an iPhone 6s screen replacement. Apple charges $129. Another repair place in San Marcos charges $99. The guy was nice, but I feel ripped off. Won't be coming back here again. read more

Brought my Iphone screen/display here a few months ago because I cracked the screen on my IPhone 10s. My family has been bringing their phones here for years. Their prices are good because they use a non apple aftermarket display/screens. The display/screen they put in gave me nothing but trouble this time. It would go black about twice a week and this time it wouldn't turn back on. I was even responsible when I got the new display/screen and bought a nice case. I even bought an expensive screen protector from this store. When I explained to the lady what was going on and how it's been giving me trouble she immediately said it was my fault. They offered nothing to make the situation right! Horrible customer service. She told me that I cracked the screen but all that was cracked was the protector. I peeled off the protector and sure enough the screen was perfect. Looked brand new. I will never go back here again. They claim that they will warranty the screen but it's a lie. They treated a long customer horribly and that's just not how good business is done. read more

I have used R&M Gadget Repair on three different occasions and I always have a great experience with Robert. Most recently I had my screen replaced on an HTC. I asked for a quote through Yelp and received a timely response. I was agreeable to the price so asked Robert to order the parts. They came quickly and I dropped my phone off with Robert. There was an issue with the home button so he kept the phone a few extra days to order a new one. I was charged the original price I was quoted even with that snafu. Robert gave me a quote that was probably 30$ cheaper than the other repair stores in the area and was honest enough to tell me that it's probably better to buy a refurb or used (but newer) tablet than the old one that I had. My dad goes there. My brother goes there. He is skilled with Apple products and Android products. The first time I met him, he steered me right. He was incredibly honest and knowledgeable. He put my charger port under his microscope and brought me an image identifying that the chip was torn away from the motherboard. He explained it to me like a scientist and a doctor, taking all his time with his diagnosis. He did not even charge me. My wife and I recently upgraded to i-phone 6 Plus. On a family outing,one phone fell six feet face down on the pavement, cracking the screen ! But we have repair insurance ! Yes and the deductible is $200.00 ! Next logical step = call Robert at R & M Gadget. True to reputation, Robert repaired our phone to like new condition in one day for less than $150.00 ! It can take much longer if you go through the insurance repair and you will likely get a re-boxed re-furb replacement. These people are ripped off artists. I brought my one piece iMac desktop computer in to have a hinge fixed, they quoted me a much lower price than what it ended up being. No phone call that the price went up or that it was ready to be picked up. I had to call them to find out it had been ready for 2 days. Then when I picked it up the price had tripled because they knew that I needed my computer right away. While I was in there I asked them for a battery that was in my bathroom scale that broken at home they told me that the battery was really hard to find and if they would sell me one for $26. I got home and realized it's a very common battery that I can buy for under two dollars literally anywhere. Under no circumstances will I ever visit these garbage people again and you shouldn't either. They scope you out but what kind of car you drive up in if you drive up in a nice car they will rip you off. read more
