A brief conversation turned into him loudly talking over me and not allowing me to speak. I told him when the siding had been done and when the windows were done, he immediately started telling me the reason it was leaking was due to the contractor who did the siding- they were the cause of that even though the siding was done six years ago and it's only leaked twice starting about four weeks ago. Then he said it was because of the immigrants- they were doing all of the wrong work. I told him that this particular job was not done by immigrants. our regular Handyman and his son did all of it. He also was telling me I wasn't qualified to tell whether someone was properly licensed in NY or not because I just had someone else give an estimate who showed me their license who had wanted to take the window out and then put it back in with new protection etc. At some point I said are you going to tell me what you think about the window and he said I already did it's $800-$1200 without really explaining what they were going to do. I don't recall him saying that in this crazy conversation before perhaps he did and I couldn't remember because it was mostly him berating me. Anyway, I said that's too expensive and goodbye. I do not recommend this company based on this. It's too bad because they do seem to have a lot of good reviews and I was considering to ask them about the other leak with the roof as well that hasn't happened again for a year. After three strike outs with three different people now I am ready to just go to Home Depot and ask them to tell me how to fix this myself.

I left a message not thinking he would call me back but surely enough he called me back instantly and said he would come over first thing the next morning. Unlike most construction workers who have previously worked on our relatives house, Dennis was on time and very friendly. He gave me a very reasonable quote and the dates when the work would be started/ finished. True to his word, everything was delivered on time and on budget. We will be re doing the Shingles on the outside of our home early next year and I will be sure to call them in.

Photos coming soon…read more Working with Dennis ultimately turned out to be a disaster that likely has to work its way through the court system unless Dennis comes through at the eleventh hour. Shingle It Two installed a new roof, gutters, and soffits at my home. They were reasonably priced. They were very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about roofing and other things (windows, etc). First, I previously spent thousands of dollars on mesh gutter guards, which Dennis assured me he could move to the new gutters the same way they had been on the old ones. But they didn't sit right and in some places didn't hold, and according to the gutter guard company who looked, Dennis' crew failed to re-attach them correctly. Sections had insufficient brackets and or were missing the mesh itself. Dennis tried unsuccessfully to remedy some of these issues by adding screws, but the gutter guards continue to be improperly affixed today, and a section is missing entirely. Since October, I was waiting for him to provide a solution. It's now March. When I confronted him, he acted like he had no idea why I would be upset and yet again said he'd come. Moreover, the gutters could have been compromised by adding all those extra screws. Dennis appears unwilling to file a claim with his insurer even though he says he has insurance. (But see note below about how Dennis accepts payment.) He is definitely capable of doing the job right, as I've seen examples of his other work. He should do so. Second, I was never happy with the shingles themselves. Various roofers have told me that Dennis's installation was "poor workmanship." To improve the appearance, I believe Dennis added extra nails, which did improve the esthetics. But, I'm concerned that adding more nails presents its own issues, and I wish the roof had looked right in the first instance or that Dennis would have redone his work, which he still should do. Third, Dennis's crew damaged an attic HVAC pipe, causing a refrigerant leak, then blamed me for the damage (recording of phone call available). Others concluded that the error was attributable to Dennis's work. Dennis sent a "wall of shame" contractor, who acquired that label from being unlicensed, to do the repair, but he failed to recharge the HVAC fully. My contractor had to complete the job. Dennis ultimately reimbursed me, but it should never have happened and took significant effort, not to mention being without A/C. Fourth, Dennis's team failed to properly clean up the debris, leading to nails strewn all over and two flat tires. My kids kept discovering nails. Dennis largely disputed that it had to do with him, but no other work was done that would have produced those nails. Fifth, Dennis's team failed to reconnect a wire for my outside spotlight when attaching it to the new soffit. The electrician he sent discovered and corrected the error, but it shouldn't have happened. Dennis instructed me to make payment in cash or bank check made out to his name directly, rather than his company. Although I didn't think much of it at the time, I now find it highly irregular, and we'll see how and if county consumer affairs or the state taxation department or federal Internal Revenue Service investigates my impending concern about this business practice. Maybe it's entirely acceptable; time will tell. DO NOT MAKE MY MISTAKE AND END UP IN COURT, ON SOCIAL MEDIA, AND WRITING TO REGULATORS. It's a huge hassle even though I'm confident that I will succeed. I will gladly update this review if Dennis admits his mistakes and comes through, like I hope he will. Dennis still won't admit that he did anything wrong. Really? Missing mesh? Insufficient brackets on the gutter guards? Broken A/C pipe? Sending an unlicensed contractor? Forgetting to reconnect wiring? Insisting on payment to him personally? Failing to come from October to March about the gutters and gutter guards? That's nothing?

As for my reason for stating this I'll elucidate now. Marty put 6" white gutters on my house about two years ago. They removed old system and had the new one installed in a few hours. They also installed leaf covers as well. Now for why I rate Marty so highly, a few months ago, I reached out because I heard banging above my wjndow when it was windy. I reached out and told Marty I was concerned the gutter was loose and would eventually fall. To his credit, Marty sent his crew and they tightened up the gutter that was loose. A few days later I heard the banging again and reached out again, letting Marty know that possibly, the rest of the line was loose. Again, to his credit, Marty's crew came by. They went on the roof and closely inspected the line. It turned out the gutters weren't loose but the critter guard around my solar panel was! I felt terrible asking them to come but the crew happily tightened the critter guards. Something they didn't have to do! So I stand by the fact that Mr. Gutter is a solid company to work with and completely backs their work, even backs another company's work! I highly recommend anyone looking for gutters to hire Marty and Mr. Gutter of West Babylon to do the work! You will never regret the decision and be very happy you did hire them!

The short: reasonably priced, punctual, fast quoting process, good scheduling and extremely efficient onsite. Cannot find any fault, or room for improvment. The long: What can I say! I feel very lucky! 1st time dealing with this company, contacted them spoke with Scott (owner) he came same day to look, consult, measure, quoted me later that evening (very reasonable pricing) all written up nicely, sent it over via text as per my request. I accepted, soon after a day was scheduled. The day before there was a lot of communication via phone, text from Scott as he was clearly thinking and preparing himself to succeed. I found it refreshing to be in the loop as well as confident that he was taking my project very seriously, which i loved. The next morning he showed up on time with 2 giant trucks, i look out the window and see 8/10 guys preparing ladders, scaffolding, tool belts ect. Within minutes they descended on the house and got to work. It was awesome, there were guys everywhere, i felt like i was on an episode of "this old house". It wasn't long before i realized that I had the "A Team"! The speed, cleanliness, efficiency, rhythm at which they operate is impressive. With Scott watching and working as an equal with the team there is no room for issues to develop into problems. Scott is clearly is highly trained, detail oriented and has picked and trained a crew that mirrors those traits. He knows exactly what he and i want and everyone follows that queue. My wife was in and out a couple times with the baby and commented to me how nice and accommodating they were. I felt good about that. I found myself pacing around with nothing to do and eventually taking a nap while the baby napped which is very unusual for me as i like to be watching making sure everything is going according to plan, really on top of things. In this case there were none of those feelings based on the previous nights comminications and what i saw in the 1st hour or two, i knew that they had it all under control. I woke from my nap, made a coffee, went outside to find the entire property cleaned of any sign that they were even there, Except for Scott, wiping down the gutters, making final inspections tiny adjustments, preparing the paperwork, warranty information. We had a leak in our roof and called around to several companies. Advanced Roofing was one of the companies that we reached out to for a quote. Since we had planned on putting in new siding , we decided to put in a new roof as well. We contacted Scott at Advanced Roofing to give us an estimate for a new roof and siding. He came the next day, went up onto the roof and around the house to check out the work involved, wrote a very detailed proposal of work needed. We accepted his offer because he spent time to explain details of the work and gave us a very reasonable price. He helped us temporarily patch up the area where we had the leak just in time for another storm. Because of all the rainy days in April, his work schedule was delayed. Meanwhile Scott helped us select the right color roof and siding to match our existing stone and brick exterior. When Scott and his crew started work , they came on time each day, worked very professionally and efficiently, and cleaned up after each day's work. This is my first ever Yelp review and it is much deserved for Scott and his crew from Advanced Roofing & Siding. We had Scott do the siding & gutters on our home and as first time home owners we were nervous of whom we would select and the services we would receive. After several quotes, Scott was the definitive selection for our project as his professionalism, attention to detail and his willingness to advise with personalized recommendations stood out above all else. Turns out that was just the start, Scott waited for me without hesitation to finish other projects on my home (think new windows, doors, central air, etc.) and after waiting nearly two months for me to get ready, he and his crew came and finished the project within 2 1/2 days. During the installation, Scott fulfilled some of my personal requests to add little things here and there and just altogether never once did he say 'no' or express anything other than his desire to see me satisfied. Workmanship is very high quality, and I was really impressed by how professional and knowledgeable his crew was. All this, in addition to the very fair pricing. After a bad winter my soffit and gutter were ripped from the roof and left a large gap. The damage was on both sides of that area of the house and needed serious repair (rotted wood). Called for several estimates and after speaking with at least 5 roofers who showed up to give estimates Scott was the only one to suggest a new lead (cost $30) to alleviate all the water from one side of the house. He showed up and with another worker started and finished the work . He repaired the roof and did the gutters himself (not outsourced). He was very professional and felt comfortable with the job getting done the right way. More than satisfied with how well the job was completed. His price for the job was definitely more than fair and beat all other estimates. Scott didn't try to up sell me and was able to salvage the soffit while the other companies wanted to sell me new ones. He also managed to save a baby birds nest that was inside the damaged roof. Scott and his crew did a fantastic job replacing all of my gutters, leaders and downspouts! He was very honest and fairly priced! He and his crew were very neat and cleaned EVERYTHING up before they left. So, a year later and it was time for a roof. Called Scott, he came for an estimate within a day or so. After getting another quote, I called Scott back right away to get on the schedule. I had a few unique situations with some siding and shutters that I needed addressed at the same time as the roof and Scott was more than willing to work with me to fix those issues. Scott and his crew showed up at 7:50am (told me he would be there at 8, wait.....a contractor that shows up early? Love it!) they were done by 4 pm on a colonial with a 2 car attached garage and portico! That included siding (1/2 of a wall) and shutter repairs. When it's time for siding, there is only one person I will call.....Scott from Advanced Roofing, Siding and gutters. read more

Scott and his crew showed up at 7:30 as planned and started work by 8am. They finished before 4pm including a lunch break and when they finished the only evidence that they had been there was our beautiful new roof. Scott was on site all day and let me know when some damage was uncovered after the previous roofs were ripped off. They replaced the damaged sheeting and Scott even uncovered some missing flashing a previous contractor had failed to install. His team removed some siding and put in the needed flashing and even replaced one of my gutters that was damaged. The additional cost was zero. Yes, additional work at no cost. I think this demonstrates a level of professionalism and expertise that is extremely rare these days and certainly welcomed. Scott was pleasure to work with and provided this excellent service at an affordable price. I highly recommend Scott and his company. read more

The 2nd estimate was reasonable, but not as detailed, and the 3rd was also reasonable, but told me there was an area he could not get to with the soffits against my front cedar panels as he would risk damaging them. (I was getting an estimate for my roof (as well as for the company to build casing/housing unit around my rusty gas chimney), sky light, attic fan, siding, gutters/leaders, and soffits). Once I contacted Ryan (8/2023), we tentatively set up a date for him to come for an estimate, giving me a heads up that him and his wife were expecting a baby any day. Any human being would understand that and agree. He followed up the next day, and we worked it out for him to squeeze me in. Ryan was on time, as per our agreement, polite, and got right to work. He pulled his ladder right off the truck, and made his way up to the roof. In the past (since moving here in 2015), I've been told I have a "few years" left on my roof, but knew since the house was built in 1988, and it is the original roof, that my time has come. Ryan took pictures, did all the measurements, and came down to show me, and discuss. In addition, we walked the perimeter of the house to get an idea of the remainder of the work I wanted done. During this time, with absolutely no pressure, sales pitch, and non-sense add-ons, he offered me many great ideas, as well as opinions, and spent more than enough time with me. He really gave me the comfort level of making an easy decision, and that was to use his company without even seeing the estimate. A few days later, he sent me the estimate, as I had requested it to a specific email account (so it wouldn't go into spam). Very well put together, PDF format, with pictures of all the work that needed to be done: roof, casing/housing around the gas chimney, sky light, attic fan, siding, gutters/leaders, and soffits. It was one of the best estimates I have seen meticulously put together. Ryan had everything itemized, in case I did not want to move forward with the project in its entirety. I did, and thought the price was more than fair for the scope of the work, and lots less than the other 3 companies that were here prior. With our first meeting going so well, and the presentation of the estimate, (price always helps as well, lol), I knew this was a reflection on the quality of work Ryan and his crew would carry out (of course, Ready Roof did NOT disappoint). During the pre-construction phase, we kept in touch, with Ryan quickly answering my calls, texts, and emails, being very communicative. This was necessary, needing samples dropped off (so the wife can approve), paperwork that needed to be signed, or my annoying constant questions on caring for my house as if it was his own. Ryan reiterated to me about how he cares for clients houses as if it is his own, with tarps, and making sure there is no damage. Ryan and his crew have the tools, machinery, and the finesse of true professionals. The roof was ripped and finished in a day, and the rest of the work took a few weeks. Many factors played a role (not Ryan's fault). I had my own personal issues with my dad in the hospital, continuous rainy weather, and me wanting to be home to see the work progress, not to mention I was getting premium siding (special order). During this whole time, Ryan was on the job, making sure I was satisfied, products delivered were of good quality and correct. Ryan did not hesitate with any questions I threw at him, and there were many each day. A true business man, making the customer happy.........EXTREMELY! He followed through after the project was done and sent me pictures from his drone of the before/after. From start to finish, all the work completed was done correctly, professionally, with care for my home, and a success in making my wife and I happy (I/we can be a pain in the a**). I need to uphold a beautiful look of my house, since I am a corner property. I am getting tons of compliments on the work Ryan and his crew did, and all the time they put into it, was well worth it. I could not have asked for anything more, as far as anyone doing a better job. Ryan, and his company Ready Roof truly made my home look beautiful. They were READY to do a ROOF..... AND lots more.
