This was the company that did my roof after Sandy and so when I had a problem with a four legged unwanted visitor in my attic, I called them and they explained to me what to do and they would come and close the hole and they did and it was wonderful they said not to worry. We used Nassau Roofers twice (for leak repair- not sure which company replaced the roof before we purchased the house and when it was replaced but these guys came through for us, and to do our recent roof replacement). Great crew (a team of hard workers) sent to do the roof replacement. Entire roof completed for a split level house in slightly over 7 hours (including break for lunch and rest). Team arrived earlier than 8 AM and started removing the old shingles promptly at 8 AM (talk about efficiency). Every member had a task and knew what to do. Our foreman, Nelson, was wonderful. He went up to the roof a few times to check on the condition, work done and made sure his team was well fed. He is knowledgable in the roof work and answered all our questions. He discussed the condition of our roof and what work will be done (any rotted wood- thankfully none, discolored wood and what will be done, etc). Prior to his departure, Nelson made sure to check with us to see if we had any questions/concerns to addressed and to tell us he was leaving the job site. Megan, the President, made the process (from beginning to the roof completion) as stress free as possible. She handled the roof permit and reached out to me only when necessary. She was always available to answer my questions and gave me honest responses. She never forced me to make a decision (eg which shingles company to choose) nor rushed me to go with Nassau Roofers. She worked with me on our availability and made sure a crew was ready (contingent on the weather- impossible to do work with inclement weather and unsafe for anyone so must be flexible with dates/days if the date you set aside had to be changed/rescheduled). They were able to squeeze me in for an earlier date as my roof was leaking and was destroying my ceilings. I was a little worried when they only showed up with 4 workers at 8am. But by 10am, there was 15 workers banging this project out. They were super clean and didn't get any debris in my bushes or patio furnitures. We had a problem with some loose shingles, and were worried about potential hidden damage. Nassau Roofers had reroofed a neighbors house last week and the homeowner was very happy with them. We called and spoke with Megan explaining what our concerns were. Spenser came the same day, went on the roof and told us that it would not be a major job and gave us a written estimate to repair it. He also said that wind damage caused the minor problem and that the roof should be good for 3 to 5 years. He quoted what we thought was a fair price so the next day we spoke with Megan and said wanted them to do the work. She said that although they were very busy and it was a small job they might not be able to do the job this week and that was okay but today Megan called and said Nelson would b there today. Nelson and a helper came soon after and did a good job and did it quickly. They even cleaned the gutters. Finally got around to an update. Lazy me. Anyway, they did an amazing job. About a 2000 sq ft roof was ripped out, new plywood where needed, roof paper stuff, new tiles, and 4 sky lights all done in one day. They came with 13 or 14 workers. Price is definitely reasonable as I had compared this to 2 other roofing companies. It's been 4 months and no leaks at all. Bryan who is the lead guy/foreman is very friendly and knowledgeable is very good at what he does. He's funny and straight forward just as a warning in case some people might be put off by that his demeanor. I've grown up with people like him so to be it was comforting. Megan who handles the scheduling, billing, ordering and all the off site duties is super accomodative and responsive. She'll email you back up to 9 PM from my experience. She quickly provided the insurance and workers comp documents that my town required and worked with the village department of buildings to obtain the permit. Just to add, they also replaced my gutters and replaced the wood that the gutters screw into. The wood I had was rotted. I'm hoping to hire them for siding work in the spring. Hopefully, I can get them at a less busy time for a discount. Anyway, I would definitely recommend Nassau Roofers for roofing. Jury is still out for siding. Nassau Roofers replaced my roof in 2009. I live one block from the beach and the back of my house is totally exposed for miles with a golf course and bay between me and the next house. Since 2009 we've experienced many high wind days, multiple nor'easters and Hurricane Sandy. The roof has held up beautifully with no problems. I currently (2018) have an unrelated problem with a new leaking window. The window installer was blaming the roof so I called Nassau Roofers to take a look. John (the owner) came out to me the next day. He looked at it and knew right away it was the window. He told me what he thought the problem was and after some troubleshooting he was 100% right, it was the window and it was exactly what he thought it was.
