I had to find a new Dermatalogist that I had been going for years since with the insurance changes they didn't accept my PPO. So when I walked in the place it was clean and bright. There were a lot of people at the reception desk working. My wait was very brief. When I saw the Dr, I told her exactly what I needed, asked the questions I had, and had a skin check too! I went into advanced skincare to get my first round of Botox last week. I am super terrified of needles so I was pretty scared going in. Suzanne was super kind and reassured me that I wouldn't even feel it and explained that the needle was tiny and that she could also give me numbing cream to help ease my nerves. She was so quick with it that she was halfway done before I even realized she had already started the injections. Be very careful upon using Advanced Skin Care !! I had some sun damage that needed some attention and was told I needed blue light treatment. Dr Aguirre said it would be like a slight sun burn... not even close!! Like a blow torch on your face a very painful!! They told me , Blue Cross PPO, insurance would cover some of my procedures ! In essence insurance covered nothing and they declined to mention my deductible had not been met !! So in the end they billed me for everything and said I should have known! Also several out of pocket payments I made seemed to get lost and suddenly appear! All in all I think this place is kinda of shady and very misleading when it comes to billing and procedures... I came to this Dr in 2015 with a giant sore on my cheek I thought was acne, I paid almost $800 out of pocket and the prescriptions I had to fill cost another $140. I insisted on a follow up 2 weeks later as my face just hurt like I was sick, the Dr accused me of picking my face and said she had acne herself so she knows how I feel ( the embarrassment of going out in public). I used the acne cream but never went back because I couldn't afford too. The sore on my cheek took months to heal using just Retin A that I ordered on the Internet. In 2015 I woke up in the middle of the night and felt my cheek swelling and by morning a huge was back on the same exact place it was when I went to Advanced Skin Care. It was a Saturday morning and I wanted a Dr to see this just happened overnight and was not caused by picking at my face. I decided to go to St Jude ER, and they took one look at me and diagnosed it was Shingles not Acne. I apologized for wasting the time going to the ERvand they said this is very serious, having shingles on your face can cause blindness if it gets to your eye. I never thought the Dermatologist could have been wrong, looking back I wonder how did a dermatologist screw up a diagnosis so bad? They can't say it was just one visit, I was here 3 times, and since they took picture in 2015 of my face I took one of the sore that came back in 2016. Hopefully they read this, compare pictures and make sure nobody ever goes thru the hell I did. Once I had the shingles meds I was better in about 7 days, but using acne cream on shingles caused me to suffer physical pain and mental embarrassment for several months. read more

This review is for the facility in Fullerton.  This is the 2nd time I ever look into getting cosmetic care.  I called to set my appointment and the person on the phone was set me up for a consult.  After reading most of what we're 5 star reviews for this facility and the doctor's, I was excited to see Dr. Aguirre on day of my appointment. My appointment was schedule for 3pm, I arrived 10 min before. Check in was ok, but the front office personnel that was there didnt acknowledge me / greeted me upon arrival. After, waiting 20 min I went back to front office personnel to ask how much longer I wld have to wait. She stated it wldnt be much longer. Finally, at 3:30 my name is called and I was walked to the back. May I say the lady that walked me to the other waiting room was not very friendly either. She walked at least 15-20 ft ahead of me all the way to the waiting room. 4pm comes around and I haven't been seen the doctor. By this time I was ready to leave. It had been 60 min and I had gone from one waiting area to another. Finally, as I was walking out the doctor comes in gives me a quick apology and also mentions she thought I had only been waiting for 30 min. Apparently, there is no communication with the front office personnel and the back office personnel. My experience was was not 5 stars. Unprofessional medical office! I didnt find the staff in this office friendly or efficient. read more
