The dealership is very customer-centric & pleasant - Until you sign the contract…read more The vehicle we purchased needed 3-4 safety issues repaired that were agreed to as part of the contract agreement. According to Kallan, one of the owners & the local GM, "We'll have it ready in 2-3 days". It's now day 9 or 10, & we still do not have our vehicle. Communication is way less than desirable - many promises, no follow through. We were placed on hold several times, & no one returned to the phone. Kallan gave us his cell phone number but never answers our calls or calls back. What reputable dealership does that to a customer spending $27k? Later, I received a text message from the saleslady we had been dealing with first, & she apologized because she had been checking the status of the wrong Jeep all week. Fantastic. That one was of three texts I had received during this whole nightmare. I have finally resorted to showing up at the dealership to follow up in person. "We should have it done in about 2-3 hours". I offered to wait there in the shop/showroom with them for that amount of time & they began backpedaling on their statement. They will say ANYTHING to appease the customer but will not follow through with their promises. Finally, that night - day #10 after signing the contract with Victory, the Jeep came home only to find out 2 days later that the safety items they promised to fix were indeed not fixed. The passenger seat cushion was destroyed; hooks on the rear doors that the door cable attaches to prevent the door from swinging into the front door & breaking the electrical wires that run through the doors were left unrepaired. (See photos below) The dealership thought it was "good enough" to massage the seat cushion into a semblance of being repaired & only replaced one rear door hook. Also, this vehicle supposedly passed TWO service/safety inspections - one at the Smithville location & another at the Ottawa location. BOTH shops missed multiple items even after TWO inspections (if they were done at all). The two main bolts that hold the top (roof) onto the Jeep are missing (another safety issue overlooked). An oil change was supposed to have been done, but the oil was black as coal when the dipstick was pulled the next day. Obviously, it had not been changed recently. The Jeep is waiting to be inspected at my shop. I expect a list of other defective/unsafe items. Victory does not recondition auction or traded-in vehicles. They avoid repairs & reconditioning to save the dealership money. Victory may acknowledge issues & offer to have the shop inspect the car if confronted - after you sign the sales contract. If customers overlook problems, great. Sales contracts typically involve warranty/service contracts. Most customers buy them. Victory will not recondition any vehicle until after its sale, & the warranty is in effect. The dealership's warranty company should be informed of this shady process. SHORT STORY: The dealership gets paid to recondition a vehicle once it's sold. Using a customer's warranty to do the initial reconditioning on a vehicle is not just something that happens locally - it happens at all of their stores. It must be company policy. We will never again do business with Victory Auto Group & we will warn our friends & neighbors about this corrupt company. We regret buying this vehicle. The adage is true: A clean pig with a bit of lipstick is still a pig. UPDATE (11-12-2021): The dealership had to replace the axle seal they said was "only a seep" at purchase. Another shop found the differential half empty & the seal area wet. After 7-8 days, that Victory "fixed" it. We rebuilt the engine's top end (cam, lifters, etc.) in June (~$800-$1000). Today, while replacing the front axle shafts, bearings, & shocks, we discovered that Victory's axle seal "repair" technician had cross-threaded the bolts that attach the axle to the bearing hub on both sides of the Jeep & two other bolts (~$500). See photos. We've spent at least $3,000 to keep this Jeep running. To be continued...
