I highly recommend A-One Moving & Storage…read more We just moved from Fairfax, VA to Chester, MD (A-One's home office location) on 12/29 & 12/30. Bryan (the estimator) and I had a Facetime call where I showed him everything to be moved and explained the very long carry distance (over 300' and an elevator) from my Condo to the truck loading dock. Bryan said the entire move could be done in a day, but we choose to split the move to two days which turned out to be the smart choice. I got estimates from 2 other movers and A-One's estimate was in the middle of the 3 companies, and I felt it was the most accurate estimate due to using Facetime and really taking time to ask comprehensive questions. On load day, the crew arrived and immediately started to haul boxes. Every item (boxes, sofa, bureaus, etc.) were hand carried out of the apartment. I asked why and they said using a dolly or cart could scratch the hardwood floors or damage carpeting and they didn't want to have that happen which I really appreciated. The team of 5 (Bob the driver) and 4 always courteous guys were in constant motion. Everyone was just awesome, taking great care of all of our stuff and also being extra careful about the Condo. After the Condo was empty, I left Fairfax about 20 minutes before the A-One truck and team. 12/29 was a Bay Bridge High Wind Day causing massive delays for all of us to get to Chester (Kent Island). The next morning, the truck and team arrived at the scheduled time and had us unloaded and set-up in 3 hours - again, all hand carried. Fortunately, at my new home, it was a short carry distance, but there were now a 2nd floor loft and bedrooms where the team had to carry many boxes and heavy furniture upstairs. Bottom line, the final bill was a couple of hundred dollars less than the estimate I received. I was very happy with the cost, and this was the best move experience we have ever had. As the team was leaving, they told me that they also offer tiny moving services, meaning if you want to move furniture from one room to another or just re-arrange it, they are available. I don't expect to move again anytime soon but I do anticipate using A-One for a tiny move in the near future. I highly recommend A-One Moving & Storage.

The movers and staff members are incredibly professional, efficient, and well priced. Furthermore, it is apparent that the moving staff enjoy working with each other, while taking the job seriously. Their interactions and camaraderie added levity to a difficult task for me and my husband (which was to downsize a household of 20-yrs)!! While I cannot mention all the highlights, I will say they moved a baby grand piano to the second floor of our new house. I gave them the choice of leaving it on the first floor (because the move looked difficult). The project manager, Zach, and team members were unified in placing exactly where I wanted, which was upstairs! We just had a whole house generator installed, and this is the company that we used to set up and fill the propane tanks that will power the generator. The initial delivery of the tanks was coordinated by the generator installation company, however, from the day of tank delivery up until now everything has been fantastic. Dennis, the delivery driver who brought, installed, and filled the tanks up was very helpful. He answered all of my questions and took great care to install the tanks in a manner that was safe and in the location that I needed. When dealing with the staff that has handled everything else when I've called, I've been incredibly impressed. I initially spoke to Lynn, who just like Dennis, patiently answered all of my numerous questions. She explained the process of getting us set up with our own account and what to expect for the next steps in the process. Now that everything is up and running, I had the pleasure of speaking to Mary yesterday. Again, Mary was very helpful, professional, but also very friendly and personable. I love supporting locally owned small businesses and I'm so glad this is the company that the generator installation company works with because I could not have picked a better company to service my tanks! As of October 2023 "Go Getters Trucking Services, LLC" has been a forfeited corporate entity…read moreaccording to the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation. This means that "Go Getters" or the principal Mr. Robert Hager cannot enter into any contractual relationship, move furniture, accept money, or conduct any business whatsoever. In fact, no one is allowed to use the designated corporate name, so Mr. Hager's former website (https://gogettersmovers.com/) could be construed as fallacious. On the "Go Getters" contract and this defunct website it is claimed that this "company" is fully covered by insurance. As anyone knows an insurance claim is invoked in case of damaged or missing items. "Go Getters" has two policies. The first policy is a business insurance, but according to an agent it excludes any culpability for any damages or missing items while in their possession and the other policy covers a passenger vehicle -- not the moving truck that he uses. And so the agent for this insurance company also stated that there is no coverage for lost or damaged items. Moreover, the latter agent placed Hager and Go Getters Trucking Services, LLC on the uninsurable list for what we will euphemistically describe as a clerical error. That means that the Department of Transportation was informed and the Go Getters carrier license was revoked. So Hager and his crew cannot engage in interstate moving, and for that matter, in any business whatsoever without insurance. So that means insofar as the DOT is concerned he cannot move a matchbox from Virginia to DC, or even within Maryland because of his forfeited LLC. Not bad work for a family owned business that takes pride in servicing their customers with reliability. Mr. Hager's saga does not end here. Now he is advertising on Thumbtack. He is still using the Go Getters name forbidden by the State of Maryland. But to add to his shallow business tactics he has posted another DOT license number. Additional research confirms that it belongs to a business in Baltimore, but hey, maybe out of the goodness of their corporate heart he was given permission to use this defunct license? In an email exchange with Thumbtack, Jamie of the Trust and Safety Team refused to take action when he was apprised of these facts. It is quite striking that Thumbtack allows people to engage in unsavory activity on their platform. So what prompted me to post this review? He and his crew damaged a number of pieces of furniture including an antique desk and some of our items "disappeared." Mr. Hager refused to respond to phone calls, texts, emails, and letters even though I requested reasonable financial reimbursement. Furthermore, Mr. Hager insisted on cash payment the first day that he and his crackerjack crew arrived, so clients are forced into a corner after days of preparation even though their Yelp and Thumbtack pages claims that he accepts credit cards. Bear in mind this unspecified monetary transaction is a federal offense and so is their gross negligence by not giving a bill of lading. Because his uninsured van is pint-size moving logistics became a nightmare necessitating multiple trips. In retrospect, when you first meet Mr. Hager it could be said that his demeanor smacks of pious affability -- quite a contrast with reality and all his God blessing and other specious responses to customer reviews. And by the way, when he sent me that vacuous contract he underestimated the charges and I had to inform him that I should pay more. Given all this information and this final stab in the back, is that the way an honest person should be treated?

My husband and I rented a unit with the intent of only having it for 3 months. We signed a paper contract when they dropped off the unit, although I don't really remember signing a contract. But then 3.5 years later, they sent us a digital contract and asked us to sign it. But because I don't remember the paper contract, I refused to sign the digital contract. Even though we were paying every month on time for the last four years, they refused to give us one more month with the unit because we refused to sign the contract. Additionally, after returning the unit, my credit card was charged two months in a row, and I had to call the company to get a refund on my credit card. I would recommend the business because the delivery and pickup of the unit was simple. But everything else involved with renting this unit, I don't recommend.
