Although they were so far away from me, I was worry-free. A3 is so clean and safe, and Melanie so responsive. My only regret: I knew that it would be unlikely I'd find such great storage and management again. Friends kept telling me horror stories about chain storage facilities which increase prices unexpectedly and repeatedly. And the ones I toured had poor security and/or were dirty. (Thank goodness I finally found another locally managed facility, though not quite up to A3's standard: Melanie spoiled me!) Last weekend, there was an ice storm, and places were shut down for days. I couldn't remove my…read morebelongings from the facility. I moved them out today, the 6th, and they won't prorate the month. This seems a bit unfair. I have been with them for 5 years or more, enduring numerous price hikes. I was told that if I had called and informed them I was leaving, they would have prorated it. What's the difference? That was never said to me in the beginning. I appreciate the convenience of the place, but some of the staff in the past have been extremely rude. Not today, but I think the prorating policy is so wrong. It's the first week of the month, and things were closed most of the time due to the weather. It was just disappointing!

Cons: The reason I didn't give 5 stars is due to lack in communication of "hidden fees". I spoke with staff over the phone, looked online and paid attention to all the emails I got from them. I was expecting to pay the $1 + $24 one time admin fee. What I was never told about or aware of is the cost of their lock, which is an additional $21 and change and they REQUIRE you to carry insurance...the lowest available is $11/mo. If you don't accept their insurance you cannot complete the rental process, had I known ahead of time I would have purchased my own at a MUCH lower cost. I ended up paying almost 2.5x as much as I originally expected in total.
