Workflow: - straightforward online form instead of trying to make a phone call during business hours while at work - email confirmation right after submitting form and again two days prior to the move - as described in their email, on the morning of, I received a phone call within an hour before, informing me that they were on the way - they arrived just before the scheduled time (I was their first move of the day) - I had packed the things I wanted them to move in advance, so I showed them the piles of things I wanted them to move - we signed the contract (all the things I expected + insurance option, with the default basic option as a price per weight reimbursement for any damaged items) - without even having to say much to each other they knew where to start - wrapped all the big furniture in blankets and duct tape - couch cushions were temporarily a little squished as they do during a move, but there were no damages to anything - after the move, I verified that everything had been moved and signed the post-move part of the contract Pros: - perfect workflow for a zellenial who's used to ordering things online and they magically appear - the team understood that my goal was to stay within the 3h, told me it was definitely reasonable, and were ultimately able to accomplish it - paid in cash and exactly as quoted (minus the $75 deposit) with no surprise fees and no extra charge for supplies or gas or stairs read more

I did end up with a scratch on my dining table legs. The legs are metal so I guess they figured no need to wrap them. I was going to overlook this issue I went to wash clothes and realized that they did not hook up my washing machine properly. I had water all down the hallway because they failed to put the hose into the spout that goes outside. Lastly, they had to make 2 trips because they did not send a truck big enough for fully furnished 3 bedroom home, which was explained up front. They did however take one hour off my move. read more

I want to start the review by saying the two guys we got were nice guys! They were kind, but they were just VERY slow. They had this small truck for a 1 bedroom apartment move, barely all my things fit and that's because I had no boxes, only furniture. If I had anything else it wouldn't have all fit, may have had to do multiple trips. It took them two and a half hours to load the truck and that's because my fiancé was helping them load the truck, so they technically had 3 guys when they recommended 2. I really didn't think we'd need more than the 3 hour minimum, but had my whole family not been at the house were moving into, we would of easily hit 4 hours - FOR FURNITURE ONLY, NO BOXES. I've moved the last few years and it's never taken more than 3 hours and i've normally had more to move with boxes and same furniture. Probably won't be using this company again. read more

Do not use this company. I hired 2 movers for 2 hours. They removed the padding on my large expensive tv, a young seemingly inexperienced mover attempted to move it alone, dinged multiple walls and broke the tv. They continued to complain about furniture being heavy and they were too hot and sweaty after showing up to work in sweats in the middle of Texas summer. They also continued to ask where labeled boxes needed to go and leaving items in the garage. After packing two 16ft containers, moving twice, and finally being at the point we could move in to our home, the mere thought of unpacking those two containers gave us chills. We just couldn't do it alone and turned to Yelp for a savior! Update: after talking to a couple of moving companies- this isn't the first time this has happened. Less than 24 hours before my move, the receptionist calls me to tell me that they are Increasing the rate from$159 per hour for two movers to $3200. This has been booked for over two weeks and they are telling me about this change now! This is horrible business etiquette, to make matters worse, she starts yelling because I'm irritated that they are changing the price. Funny part, she called me yesterday to confirm details! DO NOT USE THEM! I should have known better, if the price is too good to believe it's probably because it is! This is what happens when you try to save, better paying a little more and know the full details than to wait until the last min. Talk about scamming people. Leaving it until the last minute to change things around so you have no other option? Lucky for me Brother Bear Movers came through and they even negotiated the price. After researching a lot of options, I've decided to book through this company tomorrow. I'll be back to update after! So far so good, they offer a $10/hr discount if paid in cash and were able to book ~9 days prior. I booked online so it was quick and seamless. Only hiccups so far: I paid the $75 deposit to reserve a certain time and planned everything around them. I heard nothing from them until last night when the automated email to confirm came in. It seemed a little sketchy that they didn't contact me to discuss that they just decided on their own to move me to the AM slot even though I paid to reserve a slot. Not a big deal, I just asked for my reservation deposit fee back and we can call it even. An email came to offer 5% off the total, but that was ~$35. I asked again d/t this fee being placed for a specific reason that wasn't met. I believe her name was Olesia (not sure.) But I was met w/ responses like "We have ppl booking months in advance." - how is this relevant to me? "We can reschedule you to another date and time if you can't make it." - we all know how flexible apt leases are. "Okay you won't receive any discount and we will move you to a PM slot." - that's cool no problem. But now my arrival time went from 2-3 to an arrival between 2-5. Also no biggie. This could have all been avoided if there was more communication before. I know that the office and moving staff are separate so I'm in high hopes of a great experience! read more

Overall, I would not use these guys again and I had a negative experience. I initially went with DFW Moving Co. due to the low cost (I think they were about half of other quotes I received). The main issues were rudeness, incompetence, and their slowness. One of the movers (Juan) improperly disconnected my refrigerator water line and sprayed a lot of water onto my wood floors. Accidents happen, but instead of grabbing a towel, he walked back to the truck chuckling while the foreman just shrugged his shoulders. When I confronted him (Juan), he just laughed and ignored me. Later another mover used one of our bedsheets as a moving blanket without asking. It's a $100 bedsheet and they brought moving blankets themselves, so I can't imagine why they did that. Luckily the sheet wasn't damaged. They broke my tool bench, then backed it into a corner so I couldn't see the broken part until much later after they left. I tried calling the office but got no response. Finally, it took us 3 hours to move BUT my father and I were hustling with them to move as quickly as possible. Otherwise I imagine it would've taken about twice as long. Overall, when you consider the stuff they'll break and how slowly they move, DFW will probably still be a bit cheaper than their competition. That said, if money is your main concern and you're willing to put up with the annoyance, then go with this company. Personally, I would rather have paid more and not been so irritated as moving is stressful enough. read more

I hired DFW Moving Company to move on a Saturday morning and they gave me a time of arrival from 2pm to 5pm; they called ahead of time (Marlon the lead) and they were there right at 3pm. I discussed our concern about having antique furniture and heirlooms damaged and all I can say is that Marlon and his crew went out of their way to be as careful as possible. I also had heavy toolboxes that needed to be carefully loaded and transported, alongside the delicate items, as well as tons of boxes. In the end, I doubt it could have gone much better than what Marlon and his crew did. DFW Moving Co. gets 1 star from me and I wasn't even a customer. My neighbor hired them and in their attempt to maneuver through a wide open cul-de-sac, their driver Brandon drove over my yard, leaving a deep tire track and scuffing the curb. Seeing it play out on my cameras, I spoke to Brandon about it, particularly because heavy trucks have been driving in my neighborhood recklessly and the sod is new and might not grow now. He apologized but claimed it's hard to see things in the truck and that he didn't know he did it. I tried reaching out to the company via phone call and even sent an email with a video of the incident and pics, but no one ever got back to me. First off, their drivers need to be more careful. Brandon could've injured someone or done some expensive damage to someone's property. Also, his spotter needs to get out of the truck and help him back park. Secondly, DFW Moving Co. need to make this right and fix my grass. I wasn't even a customer and yet I'm dragged into this because of someone else's negligence. Not cool. read more

Took 2 plus hours to take apart my brand new refrigerator. Mind you Lowes delivered it days earlier and had it assembled within 30 minutes. I was yelled at when questioned what was gonna be done. The mover did not want to compensate for the 45 min trip to pick up my tv that was left. When I got to my house they were drinking my soda. My 5 day old refrigerator was left with dirt and sand. There was no sense of urgency! So much so I was charged $350 more than I was quoted. My belongings were left in the middle of my living room. 3 movers for 7 hrs for 3 bedroom house is ridiculous.
