Costa Rica surf trip to on the challenge with excitement and care, curating our whirlwind adventure. We were given a variety of choices for tours, stays, and activities to choose from. Every step of the planning process we were able to give feedback, ask questions and have our needs met. We could have never planned everything ourselves to make such an efficient use of time. Plus, as oft happens on vacation, one of our chosen activities was cancelled due to weather. CRST alerted us, gave us a back up option for the evening (beach sunset tour) and secured a replacement activity for the following morning (dolphin tour). While we opted to try surfing, you don't need to. They create your adventure according to your own desires, interests and goals! I'm also really impressed how clearly this company is integrated in the local community, highlighting and supporting Costa Rican owned businesses and contributing to the growth of the Samara Beach area (and Costa Rica as a whole). The word "surf trip" is in the company's title, but they are so much more than that. The team customized a perfect itinerary for our group of not-very-adventurous people. From relaxing in the hot springs next to Arenal Volcano, to sitting on the sunny beach in Samara, it was the trip of a lifetime! The highlight for me was seeing all the animals in their natural habitats - baby turtles, sloths, frogs, and much more. So cute! Based on the brochure, we were told it'll be an overnight trip to get there. This company feels that it's appropriate to book a 5 legged (28 hours travel time) trip to and a 4 legged trip home. When we complained, they said the tickets where already booked and this final. This company does not care about its customers. They just care about their bottom line. The answer we received was there were flight cancellations and that is the reason for the 5 stops. A quick search shows we've could've gotten to Greece with 1 layover. Again, buyer beware! We are now stuck with a miserable experience getting to Greece where we are going to be exhausted when we get there.

Highly recommend the 6am tour as you get viewing time before it gets really busy. I really appreciate Birds Underwater as they do a great job educating you about the manatees and how to passively observe.
