I was not informed that an optional service I was sold could interfer with the primary health service I was seeking. I thought I was squared away and consented verbally and in writing that they could make any necessary decisions and I'd pay the cost. However, they proceeded to upsell me on other medical procedures which caused them to cancel the primary service and required my consent again to proceed. I was not told this when I was upsold. Reality should match expectations and you do this by informing the customer. I was not. I'm taking my pet to the Animal Medical Center (humane society) instead. read more

I have been going here for over 20 years. Not sure why they are only getting 3.7 stars, because this is a five star establishment. Primarily female staff and veterinarians. Tremendous compassion and kindness shown to both the staff and your fur baby. I recently took a cat in on an emergency basis. They got me in last minute, saved the cat, and the bill was extremely reasonable for everything they had to do. Dr. Heather Schatz is "the bomb" in my opinion. Kind, caring, extremely smart and capable. The staff came out every 15-20" to keep me apprised of the situation . You cannot go wrong here. They are the best! read more

Advantage use to be my favorite Vet office but that was prior to needing them for something other than vaccines. I had a lot of critical details left out about my pet's diagnosis (an immune disorder). I found out 2 days later, via a phone call with a vet tech, that my dog was documented in their files as having a terminal illness and nobody ever told me that at the initial appointment. At the initial appointment, they just prescribed a steroid pill and told me to book a follow up appointment with them in a week. Long story short, I ended up rushing my pup to an Emergency vet the next day because she kept getting worse. My poor baby's value of life decreased rapidly. At the Emergency vet, I found out that my pup was internally bleeding the whole time from her immune disorder and I had to put her down. My poor baby suffered so much longer than she should have because Advantage left out details that I should have been told from the start. read more

Front desk staff is rude. If you do not use the pharmacy, they treat you like garbage. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Took my cat in for a checkup/rabies shot and was told he needed a tooth pulled because it was loose. A few weeks later i dropped him off for his appointment where I was told he would be under anesthesia to remove the tooth. when I picked him up, I was told he was put under, but they didn't have to do the procedure because the tooth just "popped out" and was a baby tooth. my cat is 5 years old. could they not observe this without the risk of putting my cat under?? I'm sure they're not concerned with that risk if it gets them $700 for essentially nothing. what a fucking risky scam. read more

Dr. Haug returned my emails promptly and was very professional. However, his front desk phone operator is not. I was in the middle of explaining my situation to her, and she completely ignored my concerns and goes, "Is your dog spayed or neutered?" I told her forget it and to cancel my appointment. If you can't even take the two minutes I'm calling for to hear me out, hear my concerns about my pet, and help me figure out what is best for them, you don't deserve my business let alone your job. I used to take all 4 of my pets here for years. Everything was great until our pet had an actual problem to address. There was a miscommunication on their end, and instead of apologizing and moving on, they told me they would never say that and that I'm lying. Then they lied and said I cussed them out on the phone and because belligerent, which is the farthest from the truth. They then blacklisted me and my pet didn't get to get their medication after I spent $150 getting a blood test and I had to spend more money elsewhere. If they don't like me that's fine, but it's a disservice to the animals to not give them much needed medication. The lack of professionalism on their end is baffling. We've been coming here since our Malamute was 8 weeks old. Everybody here is so kind (with the exception of one tech, but I won't get into that) and great with our dog. Dr. Schatz is professional and knowledgeable. Dr. Johanson is super compassionate and love how she interacts with our "kids". What I like the most is that after each visit, the doctors call us to check up on the dogs - which is more than what I can say for my own healthcare professionals! Prices are very reasonable and they have let us come in on a very short notice (emergencies). The office itself is so clean and organized. They kept getting bigger and bigger and then I couldn't even get appointments when my pet was very sick or even for a yearly checkup. Today was our first visit there. Dr Gerrado and Robin were AWESOME! My dog is afraid at the vet and is usually a handful and has to be sedated but they approached him like pros and he was fine- BEST VET VISIT WE EVER HAD!!! They were very thorough and really listened to all my concerns. They figured out one of his issues quickly and suggested a treatment for the 2nd issue that would not run the bill up. I was really surprised they were able to get in close and work with him where other vets have not - extremely happy overall with the services they provided and we will definitely be going back. Dr. Heather Schatz Took care of our five-year-old tiny dog, performing extensive dental surgery. The office is clean and welcoming. The location, in high Ridge, is very convenient for people who live near there. We were absolutely gratified by the professionalism and kindness of the staff who greeted us with warmth even on the most horrendous snow day of the year. Our dog was adopted through the St Louis senior dog project, which organization uses this veterinary Hospital to treat many of their rescues. Upon successful completion of the surgery, the staff gave us plenty of notification about pick up times and procedures. To my dismay, the snow and related traffic problems in St. Louis prevented me from picking Nelly up before the office closed. Dr. Schatz was kind enough to take our dog home with her for the night, having faced her own serious traffic problems. This was above and beyond what anyone would expect from a professional who has her own busy life. We are so grateful to her and the rest of her staff for taking care of our little Nelly. My 1yr old dog came here for her annual rabies shot and came out limping. They told me she was sore which made sense until a week went by and she still wouldn't walk. We went back and they said she had a dislocated knee which "had to of been a previous injury" well I knew she previously hadn't done anything so I asked if something happened while she was there and they said someone was with her the entire time that nothing happened. My dog got surgery and 3 different surgeons all said based off her tear and dislocated knee there was zero way this was a precious injury and it had to of happened when she was at the vet and came out not walking. I called to see tell them what I was told and see if they would be more honest and that I didn't believe it was intentional. Their story changed and they said "something could have happened when she was alone in the room" I explained to them that they assured me from the start she was never alone and that's why they were so "positive nothing could have happened at their vet". So now I'm a few thousands of dollars out for something that is being covered up. Don't recommend obviously read more

Everyone is very nice and friendly. The prices are very affordable as well. I took my dog in while we were visiting my family for Christmas. They checked him out because he had been itching a lot, probably because of being in the cold weather and traveling, so they prescribed him some medication for 7 days. I had to part with my beloved Boxer Gus last Friday. It was very sudden and i didn't have time to tell him anything. I called Advantage and they told me to bring him out. He was so big and 2 Vet Tech's got him out of the car and carried him inside. He was in convulsions and the vet immediately gave him the medication to put him to sleep. It was so peaceful. I can't tell these professionals enough THANK YOU's for helping my Gus to cross the bridge and helping me through the difficult task of losing a loved pet. read more

This vet does not know the laws in Missouri regarding dog ownership. Very important as a pet owner if anything does come up. They will disclose your pets personal info to anyone...Against Missouri Law and they didn't even know it. Not just the tech but also the vet didn't know that was against Mo. Law. The techs are constantly changing and some are great and some not so great. The prices are good but I think you may be paying for what you get. Both my dog and cat are super anxious and they did so great at helping comfort them, I would have paid double the price for the service! Love this place. I had been taking my dogs to Webster Groves Animal Hospital prior, but I much prefer Advantage for convenience and customer experience. They are so nice and kind to my dogs. They always give out treats too after looking at my dogs ears and teeth which isn't always pleasant for her. The treats make the vet visit a little more tolerable them. read more

If we could, we would rate it a 0 out of 5 stars. The first time we went into this Vet, we fell in love. Heather is a truly nice woman and you can tell she cares a lot about her patients and their furry friends. This second time we went in, was an awful experience. The vet tech that we had this time, a woman whose name i don't feel necessary to post, was very unfriendly and caused our dog pain that was unnecessary to get her for her shots. Our dog yiped and cried for the first time in her 3 months of life. You could tell that it was because Riley was in pain, not because she was "shy" like the vet and vet tech went on to tell us. Our dog has been nothing but loving and welcome to new people. She has even been taken to a couple of our families homes where she has never been before and welcomed everyone with open arms. She runs up to people and wags her little tail every time she meets someone new. I would hate to know how this vet tech treats animals when it is time for an extensive surgery. We get that a vet is a new environment and it is just instinct for all animals to be afraid of the vet, but there was absolutely no need for that vet tech to grab and pinch her collar the way she did and make our dog cry. She even went on with saying "oh stop it you're fine" as if its standard to hurt a puppy who has never been afraid of anyone. At the time of the incident our pup was not even being held down for a procedure, she was simply sitting out of arms reach and she felt it necessary to practically punish her for not coming when called...something that a 3 month old puppy has trouble with in their own home. We will NOT be going back to this vet simply because of the way she treated her. We have nothing bad to say about Heather or any of the other members of the staff. They have always been very welcoming and nice. But the experience we had with this one woman is enough for us to never go back. read more
