I've been to the emergency room four times and received good care. except for once when I saw a "doctor" Spaulding who could have cared less. He was going to let me go home when I had come in for a bleeding colon. The nurse on duty brought me back in and called for an ambulance. I was taken to Ocala and spent 3 or 4 days recovering until the bleeding stopped. read more

Horrible. I'm here since 6pm and at 7:05pm they told me that they're getting clean the room that I will occupied in the emergency room. A lot of patients come in and out and other are inside and I still waiting for my room. I'm at the point to asked if they don't want to see me just let me know and I can go to another hospital.. The emergency room parking lot it's across the street. My wife needed a sitter at Advent hospital Ocala. When I arrived the sitter was on cell phone, Her name is Shante. Then she went and sat in hallway talking to her friends and not watching my wife fulltime. I asked her to come sit in the room to watch my wife. She refused and called security. Do not go this hospital. Every time I arrived for a visit her Oximeter was disconnected with no readings. Her lung drainage tube had been inadvertently disconnected when she was taken for testing. Now it cannot be reconnected for 3 days because of blood thinner she is on. This place is a comedy of errors and the supervisors do not care. Most nurses were good. read more

Been to the ER twice over last 3 weeks due to kidney stone. Both times I was taken in immediately(in severe pain). First visit on 4/20 the staff were beyond exceptional. What made the difference was their compassion. They listened, shared progress, conducted appropriate tests, treated the issue quickly and discharged in timely manner. Second visit on 5/10 was just ok. Without deeper imaging, diagnosis was made quickly. I was nearly discharged by a nurse before a physician shared any findings, diagnosis or treatment. Compassion and thoroughness was lacking. Based on first visit I may go back, but specialist recommended not using stand alone ER in favor of one at the hospital. read more

Before you pay your bill ask for an itemized one. You'll find evidence of price gouging on meds, purposefully ordering more tests than needed so you'll be classified at a higher level and have to pay more, along with redundant testing- again to have you pay more than needed. (For example: both a Urine & hcg blood test for pregnancy) The claim to my insurance doesn't even match my itemized bill from the hospital. Also, expect to receive bills from 10 different places after a visit! Apparently they sub contract some things which is usually fine, unless it's done specifically to confuse the person paying. read more

I arrived at my er visit last week after having been in a car accident a couple weeks prior my back pain had begun to immobilize me. I was unable to move, barely able to walk. I had to walk myself into the emergency room with crutches when I got to the emergency room, I was received well they helped me they got me into a wheelchair. They wheeled me to my room. I felt very taken care of. Unfortunately, I did not feel that same care when I was leaving. It was only just a couple of hours later that I was leaving, I still couldn't walk, but there was somehow nobody to help me out of the building and I had to make my way out of the building in an excruciating amount of pain all by myself. I absolutely don't appreciate the ability to help people when they arrive and then the ability to just leave them to help themselves when they're still in need when you go to leave very unprofessional experience, they even made me feel unwelcome at the end like I was there pretending to be in pain or something like that. If I could give less stars, I would I think it took me about an hour to get back to my car by myself. Nobody offered me any assistance at all. read more

My wife had surgery and a medically necessary wound vac installed and Advent Health Ocala, Fl admitted her for IV Antibiotic therapy and have refused to change the wound vac dressing even though it was ordered to be changed by the current attending doctor and is medically necessary. I will have to remove her Against Medical Advice to get her the care she needs. What kind of place is this? Her bedside phone does not call out or allow inbound calls? read more

Ive been to this ER about 20 times or more due to a chronic illness. It seems to be hot or miss as to the care due to the different doctors that you'll see. Don't waste your time here. Go to West Marion or Shands. read more

Stayed in an "observation" room overnight. No bathroom in the room so had to go down the hall to the bathroom everyone uses. No toilet paper and hadn't been cleaned for 3 days. Disgusting. Filthy. read more

If you are in need of emergency care do not go to Timber ridge (Advent Health) there medical standing is a 2 out of 5. A family member just went there and wanted a chest X-ray for a congestive cough, four hours later three different blood draws and EKG and hospital bed for that time racking up the bill, and never listen to the lungs and no one looking on the patient for over two hours other then blood draw, poor communication with patient. I was not a pleasant experience. read more

Timberidge is always excellent. This was my fifth visit in 10 years and I've always received the best of care here. Very little wait, efficient staff, great nurses, knowledgeable and personable doctors. From a finger cut to more serious concerns, they have always been efficient, professional and highly capable. We were greeted at the ER desk by Kelly Gozdecki, RN and she immediately set us at ease with her graciousness. We were assisted quickly and I was placed in a bed within a few minutes. Your check in process via cell phone was easy to navigate and before we knew it, there was Melanie Davies, PA-C with her bright smile and efficient manor. We were so appreciative of the wonderful care I was given, and even had the opportunity to meet Hope, the RN. I just wanted to compliment everyone, and state that your team did an exemplary job of representing Advent Health and we have already highly recommended your ER to our neighbors and friends. So I recently went here bc I've been having nausea, headaches, and some on and off abdominal pain everyday for the past couple weeks. Thought maybe they were symptoms of a uti bc I was having other symptoms that resemble it. Well they gave me a urine test, and it came back negative for uti. Instead of taking my blood, and seeing if it could be something else possibly, they just wrote me a prescription for the antibiotic of a bacterial infection to see it that helps and sent me on my marry way. Really seemed like they had really no interest in trying to help me when I also told them that I've been feeling like this for 3 weeks now. I've had several people ask me "what kind of er doesn't take your blood?" .. the staff was very kind though, ill give you that but I'll probably be going to the other er from now on. read more

The emergency room doctor was fine and managed to get my hand sewn up. The nurses etc were fine but distracted (shift change). One of the sutures was placed too close to the ragged edge and quickly pulled through allowing the wound to open back up. With my own aftercare I was able to get the wound to stay closed and heal but it was my overall experience with AdventHealth that garnered them only 2 stars. These may be the most administratively incompetent, difficult to deal with, condescending people in America. While I had my hand soaking in betadine the billing person hovered over me like a vulture insisting I write a check for my obligation before I was even sewn up ! She got my check book from my personal belongings and held the check book open ! Where was I going? My hand is soaking in antiseptic and leaking blood. I don't think I've ever been as stunned as I was by this. What, do people run out with their bucket of betadine before they get stitched up? A couple of days after my visit and after I paid my share of the $1810 bill for 2 good stitches and one that held for less than a day - I called for a detailed breakdown of the bill. It wasn't available. Could you put a reminder in my file to send it out once it has been rendered. No, that isn't possible. I called back again - still not ready and again there is no way to put a note in the file to send out the billing detail once it has been rendered. Today, I called again. This time the "customer service" rep inferred that I was lying - that there was no record I had called. I guess I should have known to ask the 2 prior "customer service" reps to put a note in my file in case a future "customer service" might someone think I was lying. And this is the place where religious inferences are everywhere - on paperwork, the walls, screensavers. Yet, where the rubber hits the road, there is a complete and utter failure to have any respect or compassion for people and they miserably failed at what I would expect would or should be the most basic of questions they need to ask themselves in every customer interaction - WWJD? read more
