We have been here twice. The first was for my daughter who was given a strep test and ultimately sent home with an antibiotic for bronchitis. While the care was good, it would have been much cheaper to go to the CVS clinic. The late evening hours are what made us choose Centra, which was cheaper than the ER. The second time my son had injured his hand. They X-rayed his hand, said it was just bruised, offered to tape it, and said to take it easy. 6 days later his hand was still swollen and purple/gray so I took him to our pediatrician who sent us to diagnostic imaging centers who was able to diagnose the break and send us to an orthopedist. When I called Centracare to let them know, I was told that often times breaks in children are not able to be diagnosed the first day because of swelling. This would have been nice to know upon our first visit so that I would have understood to keep an eye it and that it could potential be broken instead of just told it was bruised and sent on our way. The care was good, the people are friendly, but in both cases I either could have saved money or potentially gotten a more thorough diagnosis. read more

I went today for impacted ears. The nurse practitioner who helped me was great. The medical assistant who brought me back, however, was rude and unpleasant. I almost requested a different MA because of how mean he was being, but after he left the room, I didn't interact with him again. He was short with me and I was shocked by how unprofessional he was. I'm surprised he works there because I have never experienced low quality of care there before. read more

Was taken back promptly and Victoria the NP who treated me was wonderful. She listened to me and did a couple tests to see how to best treat me. Woke up feeling more myself today because of her help. Still got a little ways to go but glad she was there when I needed an extra boost to get over this illness. read more

Made an appointment for 11:30am for today ( 10-5-20 ), made the appointment two days prior to this date. I have been waiting in my car for over TWO hours and when I came in to check in when I would be seen next the receptionist simply said she didn't know when or how much longer the wait would be. I'm here to get a simple COVID test that takes literally probably 2 min at most. Spoke to a woman before her to let her know my phone was on 3% and going to die very soon so I wouldn't be able to get a call to know when I could be seen and that woman said it was only gonna be 30min more. This is ridiculous and I have other obligations I need to tend to but need to be cleared so I can go to work. Won't be back to this location ever again. Very disappointed. read more

Went in for a COVID test and was treating with such love and respect by everyone there. Charmaine was my nurse and made me laugh several times. She was amazing about the COVID test and was very helpful once I tested positive. I got my results within 15 minutes . Dr. Almaguer was awesome as well. I never figured I'd get COVID, but I also never figured I'd leave an urgent care laughing with the staff after getting Covid results! Great great staff at Advent Health Olathe! read more

I walked in to this center for a DOT physical and I spoke with the receptionist who was friendly enough. No complaints. About an hour and a half passes by after I've filled out my paperwork, i walk up to ask the receptionist about how much longer It was going to be. No ill intent or negative connotation implied, I was just curious because I had another appointment scheduled elsewhere in the next 2 hours. A nurse had responded to me in a rude defensive manner and said, "can I use the restroom first??" I responded with, "I didn't mean to be rude if that's how it came off, I was just curious." She responded with "I'll be with you in a bit" Shortly after she calls my name and walks me back to my room, she states that this is the first DOT physical she's ever done. Which is fine, I have no issues, I mean everybody starts somewhere. (If it was her first time, then shouldn't she have someone guiding her?) But she starts following the form she has to fill out and is quickly becoming confused about the things she's supposed to ask me, which seem as if she had no qualifications for her job and Advent simply hired any random person off the street. For example she couldn't remember if she had taken my temperature after we had been in the room for 5 minutes (and no she did not but apparently it wasn't necessary during these COVID times?) and then when I was taking the eye exam and she repeatedly told me to keep switching hands to cover up my eyes. She was so confused, I didn't even test my left eye and told me that portion was completed! Of course I mentioned it to her and everything was fine but It wasn't very reassuring to know that some of the staff are inexperienced and/or uneducated and still authorized to complete a certificate which allows me to operate heavy machinery which has the potential to fatally harm others. I mean who knows what would happen if they passed someone who wasn't fit to drive and that driver ended up killing someone. At this point she's left the room and the provider comes in to take some measurements and do her testing which was fine, felt like any standard check up. But then later I get pulled out of the room to redo some tests that I guess had been missed and now the nurse that was previously with me had a guide helping her along the way. Great! so now I know it's going to be conducted correctly. Well, when I received my medical examiner's certificate, it had missing information, which made it invalid. I spoke with manager to voice my concerns and though she was quick to defend herself and the location, she made sure everything on my certificate was corrected, and reassured me the other concerns would be addressed. So to summarize, the nurse I met with was rude and inexperienced, I have concerns about the testing facility and it's credibility to issue Medical examiner's certificates, let alone any other professional diagnosis/recommendation given about someone's health, and the overall experience was unsatisfactory. Would highly recommend you go elsewhere for any and all medical needs. read more

I was told my prescription was going to be ready and i drove all the way to the pharmacy 18 mins away from me. And the pharmacy said the prescription won't be ready till the fourth.. so drove here for nothing. And I scheduled my appt online it was at 11:30 and I didn't get seen till after 12:30 the doctor didn't even look at what was wrong and I waited forever to actually be seen for 2 mins. Don't recommend this place at all. Very poor communication. Do not go here or you'll have to wait forever for nothing. read more

Would not recommend. I went in for a Rapid COVID screening after having a few symptoms. I work in education and was supposed to help with technology distribution the next week, and was worried about the possibility of exposing 600+ families and co-workers. The front desk ladies and nurse were nice enough, but the doctor was horrible. And I do mean horrible. After my first test not showing results and waiting 45 minutes after my second test, the doctor finally came in and asked why I was there. I explained I came for a COVID screening and asked if the results were back, which he replied "yes." When I asked if it was positive or negative and he said, "I'm not going to tell you until you tell me why you're here." Which I had already explained to the front desk, the nurse, and written on the piece of paper he was holding. But he REFUSED to give me my results until he was done interrogating me. Then, once he told me it was negative, I explained I was relieved because I had been so nervous, and he said, "Yeah, it's driving people crazy and they're driving us crazy." And rolled his eyes. Then when I asked if I had just exposed myself by coming to the office (I would have gladly done a drive-though test but it wasn't offered there) he said "Yeah, you did. But you people keep coming anyway." Total jerk, and I plan to submit a grievance based on their Patient Rights Policy. read more

Went there 3 times and have been misdiagnosed all three times. One for a concussion, second time the doc didn't even want to treat me and was rude. Said I needed an MRI for my dizziness. I had to make him look into my ears, nose and throat. I had a sinus and double ear infection. Today I went because I woke up severely dizzy I couldn't walk and my left ear is completely clogged. Said nothing was wrong but keep an eye out for a stroke. Went to CVS minute clinic right after this visit and was diagnosed with an ear infection, going into the 2nd ear and a sinus infection. I WILL NEVER STEP A FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN. Sure, you get seen quickly, but the misdiagnosis and terrible care from the doctors can be fatal. read more

Was pleasantly greeted as I walked into the lobby. Only waited about 15 minutes in the lobby and about 10 minutes in the exam room. They had to run a test, which came back quickly with a diagnosis and helpful tips. They also called in the prescription for me. The ARNP that examined me, listened to my questions and gave me helpful advice. Would definitely go back for future health concerns. read more

Felt disrespected. Front staff woman was friendly, but nursing staff who helped us was not. Nurse didn't ask a lot of questions and seemed annoyed that we were there. The Doctor made me feel like I came in for no reason, and just was quick to diagnose "fussy baby". He acted like I was unintelligent, when I know my son the best. He felt my son's swollen lymph nodes per my request, and said "no cause for concern", when 3 hours later our pediatrician WAS concerned and followed up with bloodwork, etc. This is the second time that we have been told nothing was wrong with our son after coming in, and later going to our pediatrician and then being been treated for an illness he actually DID have. This is really unfortunate due to the convenience of their hours vs. our pediatrician that we will not be returning. Be careful when seeking care here, they are not respectful and could possibly ignore an actual problem! read more

And since we were the only ones there, doubt it was a comment not directed at me. Repeated comments VERY unnecessary. I have insurance, what do you care if I want X-ray or hard sole shoe. I went in for a slight pain in my chest and everyone was very friendly. From the receptionist to the nurse that took my vitals and even the doctor that assisted me. It was maybe 10 minutes from the time i arrived to the time i saw the doctor. Would recommend to others as an alternative to ER or doctor appointment for same day. read more

Reservation at 8am - 2 hours later and I left with absolutely nothing. Went in for common sinus infection (I've had them my whole life). Doctor pushed a covid test, even though I've been incredibly isolated and came to get antibiotics for my sinus infection. I told him regardless of the results, I'd like to get meds for this sinus infection to clear it up before it gets worse. He said "well, let's see how the covid test comes back first." Makes me think they're pushing these rapid tests for $ ... I was told they do 50 a day... why would i come here and wait 2 hours for a covid test when I could get one for free down the road that would only take 15 mins? It wasn't even the reason for my visit. Test came back negative (I had to go out of my room to ask for results) and the wait to see the doctor again (to receive the care I came for) was going to be a while. At this point it had already been 2 hours so I left... with nothing. Waste of my time. read more

These people were lifesavers. I was in a lot of pain and very worried about the extent of the injury to my foot. They were able to get me in within 2 hours of my call. When I got there, I was able to see Eloisa Rivera, an ARNP within 15 minutes. Ms. Rivera arranged for an immediate X Ray of my foot which greatly relieved my worries. Turned out I only had a simple fracture of the fourth toe on my left foot. The X-ray was read digitally by a physician at the main Advent Hospital right away. I was given a prescription for painkillers which I very badly needed at the time. A nurse then got me set up with an temporary orthopedic shoe to protect my foot until I could see a doctor. Everybody at the office was very kind, very professional and very, very helpful. So glad that I call this office when I was in distress. They really took great care of me. BTW, Ms. Rivera's opinion was confirmed by an orthopedic surgeon, so she knew what she was talking about. read more

I went there to get a prescription for a sore that wouldn't heal. Would have taken a dr. One minute to diagnose and one minute to write a prescription. I went in mid April because I was having horrible sinus issues and at this time didn't have insurance through my work. I wouldn't of even went but my symptoms were so bad I figured I could get some relief from my sinuses. The doctor who saw me was in a horrible mood and complained about it being a long day. After I explained to him my symptoms he did a flu test because he had done one on 15 people today. Ruled it out and wasn't going to prescribe me anything. I stated again how horrible I was feeling and that I have a long history of sinus infections. Once again ignored what I was telling him and then said he could get me an inhaler and something to suppress my cough. The visit cost me over $200 and I didn't get anything that would actually help my sinus infection. He told me to come back in a week if I wasn't better so when I called back the next week because I was even worse than before, the front desk told me that it would be another $200+ to see a different doctor. I couldn't afford another $200 for zero help from them and the director ended up calling me and just prescribed an allergy pill. Fast forward two months (finally have insurance) I still have a sinus infection that's caused hearing loss due to not getting the treatment I needed back then!
