Quickly looked into if they could schedule me in for that day however, unfortunately the MRI machine had just broken and would be down all week anyways. Eric jumped into action and saved the day, after a few quick phone calls he had me at an appointment half an hour away in Oviedo on the same day. I had to move some things around, but Eric's incredible demeanor left a better taste and experience for me, considering everything that had happened. Inside of the location is clean, a little tricky to find, but once inside it is pleasant and all of the staff was so lovely.

Just given your name, decide on payment or billing and complete any necessary paperwork. Each time, I've had a short wait beyond the appointment time but nothing to complain about. Once I'm called back, the tech verifies that they have the correct person, perform the imaging and have me out of there fairly quickly. The quality of care has been caring and professional. They have a nice, comfortable waiting area. The lighting is low and not uncomfortably bright and sterile; the mix of chairs include cushioned seats and are fairly comfortable. There is also a complementary beverage and snack station offering water, coffee, tea, graham crackers and snack bars.

This location has convenient parking in the front and the back. It looks to be a fairly new SimonMed, or has been renovated recently, because it was very clean and bright. I was there on a Friday and it was very busy, but I was able to sign in and get in not too long after the scheduled time of my appointment. Ilene was my imaging tech, and she could not have been more friendly and helpful. I was worried about some metal I had in my hair and how it would affect the imaging, so she was able to run some kind of quick imaging to test it (so I could cancel my CT scan and save the money if the metal would impact the image). Luckily, I was able to proceed with the scan, which took no time at all. All the way she was extremely kind and I felt so comfortable. The image results were sent directly to my doctor, though I wish I had asked for them after the appointment (pro-tip! They should be able to save it on a thumb drive for you, according to my doctor).

There were only two other locations in Orlando that have the equipment that can do the breast MRI that was required. One in downtown Orlando area and one in Winter Park. I chose the Winter Park one because they had an immediate availability on the same day, I was supposed to have the original one. I was the last appointment of the day which means my appointment wasn't until 430. I arrived a half hour ahead of time as directed to complete any paperwork. I had already completed my paperwork online so I only had two small forms I need to fill out when I arrived. After waiting in the front waiting room for a half hour I was called back to get into my gown and then sat in a sub waiting room for another half hour in the gown. When I was finally called back the young lady who was in charge of doing the MRI. was clearly in a hurry just to get done with her day. She immediately started just telling me what to do and when I stopped her and said this is my first MRI I need you to walk me through what's gonna happen she looked at me like I was asking too much of her. There definitely was not any bedside manner to this experience. It also shocked me that while someone else was in the mri machine she had stoped away from the room to get me and set me up - leaving no one in the room with the MRI machine. What if something were to have happened? After she got me all set up on the machine and explained everything that's gonna happen I completed the MRI. After the scan was done She said oh I need you to sign this paper. Well that paper was the consent to have the contrast solution injected into me. Pretty sure that should've been given to me ahead of time, especially given the fact that it states that there could be a severe reaction, not excluding death from the contrast solution. While this could be in a rare cases, paperwork for the consent to have that done, should've been done prior to me going into the scan. I also question the cleanliness/sanitation of this establishment. When I came home the next day I immediately woke up with a sore throat. And the following day had a full-blown head cold going on.

What I really meant to say is that the staff at ADG is very professional and helpful. I called them to see if they accepted my insurance (blessed) and they didn't have an answer right away but called me later to tell me that they did. I was able to schedule for the same day also. Things were working wonderful with ADG. When I arrived, I checked in promptly and was taken to the radiation room in no time. It was like the radiation was waiting for me. I was happy to see Spanish/English signs, it makes me happy to see that we are a diverse country, plus I love Latino Food, because, "Hi, my name is Julio! And I will eat your food! Haha! I'm hilarious!". Anyway, there is parking also. Oh! One more thing: what's up with the bunker inside the radiation room where the tech hides as you are getting blasted with radiation.
