A great hospital that provides excellent care and quality resources. We have utilized this hospital a few different times over the years, and continue to come back when we are sick or hurt. Something that stands out to us about this particular facility is the resources available here. A member of my family recently spent an extended period at AdventHealth. There were individual nurses, therapists and other staff members who provided excellent and compassionate care, and they deserve recognition. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me with serious concerns about how AdventHealth manages complex patients. Care was fragmented across multiple specialties, with inconsistent communication and no clear sense that anyone was responsible for pulling the entire clinical picture together. Too often, the family became the coordinator, connecting information between physicians, following up on tests and trying to reconcile conflicting explanations. We also encountered significant barriers when attempting to obtain an outside medical opinion, including incorrect information about releasing medical records and a process that required the family to navigate departments, policies and credentialing issues largely on our own. Most concerning was discharge planning. It moved forward while significant ongoing health issues still required clear plans for pain management, blood pressure, dialysis, bowel problems, respiratory issues and follow-up care. The family repeatedly questioned whether there was a comprehensive plan for managing these issues once the patient left the hospital. Good people work at AdventHealth. That is not the same thing as having a healthcare system that works well. For a hospital caring for seriously ill patients, communication, coordination, accountability and continuity of care should not depend on how persistent the patient's family is. read more

I had the unfortunate experience of being a patient in Advent Health (Orlando) just a few weeks apart in June and July of 2026. In both cases, I suspect my hospitalization could have been avoided. Advent Health is good for "Thoughts & Prayers". My "journey" began in July of 2025. That's when I noticed a sharp increase in fatigue after minor physical activity. After an EKG which suggested a possible heart block, my PCP referred me to a cardiologist. I chose one at Advent Health that I had seen 7 years earlier and knew my history. The cardiologist ordered a stress test in January of 2026. I'm not uneducated, and reviewed those results myself. They indicated a heart block with substantially restricted blood flow in the lower chambers. The follow-up visit with the cardiologist wasn't until April, so I called the cardiologist. He said the stress test came out fine, and the indication of a heart block was merely a test error. When April came, I found out that he would not attend, but a nurse would explain the result of the stress test to me. I needed no further explanation. I should have found a new health care provider immediately. I was still very fatigued after minor efforts, but trusted the doctor. I was pushing 79 years of age, after all. Perhaps this is all I should expect. On June 13, 2026, I woke up and felt extremely weak and dizzy. I took my blood pressure: normal EXCEPT that my heart rate was 30 beats per minute. Google said I was barely alive. I had my husband take me to the Advent Health ER in Lake Mary, which jumped into action and had me in a helicopter to the hospital in Orlando within minutes. I had a Third Degree Heart Block. At the hospital, I had a temporary pacemaker implanted. Two days later, a permanent pacemaker was installed. Everyone involved was responsive, professional, and pleasant. I spent most of my time in the ICU. My cardiologist, however, never saw me. Instead, he sent an associate from his office to the hospital ICU to ask how I was doing. Once out of the hospital, I was to resume my normal activities and medications. But my previous meds to reduce high blood pressure were now keeping it so low that I felt sick. I called my PCP, who said follow directions given by the cardiologist. So I called the cardiologist and the surgeon who performed the implant. The next day, a nurse responded that I should eliminate one and take the other "as needed". I ended up taking NOTHING, and still my blood pressure was no higher than 110/60, even after my heart rate was up to 104 beats per minute. I made more calls. No one ever called back. On July 5, 2026, I woke up and could NOT catch my breath. I was gasping for air, but to no avail. Another trip to the ER. Another helicopter ride. I had an acute pulmonary embolism - blood clot(s) in the lungs, undoubtedly caused by the surgery. Indeed that was about the only possible explanation for the symptoms I had recorded. But despite my many calls to supposed medical experts, no one at Advent Health thought to even mention that possibility. At least I woke up. After a few hours on supplemental oxygen, I had an emergency catheter-directed embolectomy. I.e., they sucked out the blood clots blocking the arteries. I could breath again. Once again, the staff in the hospital were mostly fine. Some of the night shift in the ICU seemed like they might be trainees. One spent 30 minutes and MANY painful attempts to draw blood. I should mention somewhere that the hospital food was inedible. Moreover, they put me on a low salt diet for no reason, then concluded that I had a sodium deficiency and gave me an IV drip. They did a test for glucose immediately after serving French Toast and syrup for breakfast, then decided I was hyperglycemic and put my on a restricted calorie diet. These things aside, they made heavy use of microwaves, turning even the best attempts at 'food' into rubber. The staff did all they could to remedy the situation. Kudos to them. Arrest the chef. But food is a trivial matter compared to important health issues. My primary complaint about Advent Health is that THEY DO NOT TAKE CALLS SERIOUSLY AND THEY DO NOT CALL BACK. My gut tells me the cardiologist should never have dismissed the results of the stress test as an error - especially since a prior test indicated the same thing. Surely, someone with medical training in cardiology should have acted on the indications of blood clots after surgery, which are hardly uncommon. Yet my many calls resulted in slight interest. They give a 24x7 "hot line" for issues after discharge. In my case, the wound reopened, bled a lot, and we wondered if I should still take the blood thinner. They would call back with answer. They never did. They weren't slow with the bills. About a quarter million for each visit to the ICU. To that they added $48,000 for "air transport" I didn't ask for and which they said I would NOT be billed for. There is an Orlando Health hospital next door. GO THERE. read more

We unfortunately had a stay at AdventHealth Orlando in the PICU recently. It's not a review I ever wanted to write but i'm happy that it's a positive review. All staff were so friendly and helpful to us during our stay in the PICU. they were constantly asking how they could help and if we needed anything, often coming up with resolutions when we didn't even ask for them. One of the nurses brought my baby toys once he was able to play and brought me coffee whenever I asked. This was a terrible situation but i'm so thankful for the staff in the PICU and our last day in the CICU that made our stay better. On a side note: the pharmacy in the main area of the hospital next to the gift shop is a great spot for restocking your medicine cabinet. You can get staple meds like daytime cold meds, allergy meds, tylenol, etc for just a few dollars. I got daytime cold meds for like $3! I also bought childrens ibuprofen, like a big bottle, for under $3. This is a hidden secret that needs to be spread! read more

Oops, I did it again, fell off another horse, and fractured some bones. It looks like I am not that innocent. Well, after Mexico City clinic took X-rays and told me a fractured my shoulder and need a surgery, I immediately took a flight the next day back to Orlando to go to ER and hopefully get some healing. My dad and I went to the ER after I landed, and it was crowded on a Thursday evening. We valet parked near the entrance, went through the Evolv security detector, and checked in to wait. We first were called to get send basic checks done and I explained what happened. Then the said to wait in the waiting area where they will call my name so I could go to a room. It took a while for my name to get called and I was pulled to a very small room with 2 cramped chairs. We waited for a doctor, and I explained the situation. He said more images needed to be done, even though we have given images from Mexico City. After another wait, I was wheeled in to the imaging room, took more X-rays, and wheeled back to the room. My dad and I waited longer, and it was getting late, so my dad grabbed food from the cafeteria. The doctor came back to verify that I did fracture my shoulder, and even my ribs (not again). They said come back next week to check if surgery is needed. They prescribed me medicine and I was gone. It took almost 3 hours and 2000 dollars just for them to say, yeah, you broke your bones, and come back again for next steps. While my dad was happy that they said lets see if you really need surgery, the process felt like a cartoon from Rocco's Modern Life. It felt crowded and cramped, like an assembly line instead of the care and comfort needed. While the doctors were fine, the person who did the X-ray was in training. Also, it looked like the doctors were just direct and didn't really care on what procedures could be done to heal faster other than a wait and see approach. They were acting rushed and nonchalant. I left the hospital depressed as I didn't know how I could get healed correctly and quickly. It was night and day compared to another ER I went in Tampa about 10 years ago, where they MRI me in nice room, and let me rest a bit before releasing me. I thought with Advent health, it would have been a bit more relaxed and professional. And what's with the security guards having tasers? Honestly, I was very disappointed and wished my insurance had other better hospitals and ERs in the network other than Advent Health. NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD HAVE TO MAKE A POST LIKE THIS... On August 25, 2025, between approximately 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM, I went to the hospital because I was experiencing pain and needed medical attention. During my visit, I was given medication that left me in a very vulnerable state while I was receiving treatment. While I was in my hospital room receiving care, $560 was taken from my wallet without my permission. I want to make it clear that I am not saying I simply misplaced my money or forgot where I put it. I had the money in my wallet, and after what happened during my hospital visit, I discovered that $560 was missing. My concern is that my money was taken while I was a patient receiving medical treatment. What makes this situation even more upsetting is that I was in a hospital -- a place where I should have been able to feel safe and trust that my personal belongings would be respected. I was already in pain and receiving medication, which put me in a particularly vulnerable position. It is heartbreaking to think that someone could take advantage of a patient while they are receiving care and unable to fully protect themselves. I am asking the hospital to take this matter seriously, investigate what happened, and look into who had access to my room and belongings during the time I was there. I went to the hospital for help. I should not have left feeling like something was taken from me while I was vulnerable. $560 is a lot of money to me, and this situation has been extremely upsetting. read more

We were here bright and early one morning because my kid was having some surgery done and would be spending a good chunk of our day here. They do have valet parking, which I believe is free, but I'm not sure. We opted to park in the parking garage, which has access to a couple of the Medical buildings here. They have an entire complex with lots of places you can go. I personally got a little lost in the building, but there are lots of people here that are willing to assist so that you can find where you're looking for. We were able to get registered quickly and Went to the section that we needed to be in. We got set up there and just waited for them to call them back. once they gotten back, everything went smoothly and took less time than anticipated for the actual surgery. The recovery time was much longer than they anticipated but exactly what we knew. What happened. In the end, they did well and are happy with the results. There will be more visits for check ups later Now for the downside of my visit. Being diabetic, I'm supposed to eat at roughly regular times every day so that meant having breakfast in the hospital. The cafeteria opened at 7 AM and they were really busy when I got down there. I took this as a good sign. As someone new to it the whole set up was a little confusing for me as they have several stations for different things you can get. I tried to take a little time to acclimate myself to what where and for some reason settled on the station with the longest line. I ended up ordering scrambled eggs, corn, beef, hash, and some breakfast sausage. There was virtually zero flavor to all the food. I have never experienced breakfast sausage with no flavor before. The eggs and hash were completely unseasoned and usually hash has some type of flavor to it because of corned beef. Not so with this. They use big ice cream scoops for the eggs and hash so you do get a decent sized helping that is very compressed and compact. When I grabbed my silverware, I also grabbed some Tabasco sauce and anticipation of needing more flavor. I wish I had used half the bottle. I also grabbed a bunch of salt and pepper With the intention of pocketing some for later. I ended up using all of it and definitely could've used more pepper. Once I broke stuff up, there's actually a good serving of everything so my mail was actually very filling if completely flavorless to begin with. If I was back for breakfast, I would probably try the French toast or waffles. They have a good selection of fruit, but I can't have most of it and they also had some donuts and sweet rolls and breakfast sandwiches. In addition to my meal, I grabbed an M&M cookie which ended up being the highlight of my meal and it wasn't a particularly great cookie. At least it had flavor though. AdventHealth Orlando is the Mothership out of all AdventHealth Hospitals with specialty care like Rothman Orthopedics attached. It also has seperate medical pavilions with respect to other specialties like Urology and Pediatrics. They even have a Disney inspired Childrens center and a AdventHealth for Women center, even an obstetrical Emergency Department. You have plenty of parking here in the complimentary parking garage as well as 3 cafes and a gift shop. This hospital is overwhelmingly huge but the office experience once you walk into the main entrance of this hospital will have you feeling safe and secured. There is always someone willing to help you get to your destination and even so many volunteers. I feel a sense of community and belonging everytime I walk into this hospital. I am very displeased with the care that my husband, a Vietnam Veteran, received while he was at this facility. He was transfered to this location by Lake Nona Veterans Hospital on 9-8-26 to be getting an MRI and to check for a possible blockage in the stents that were put into his bile duct in April 2026. Adventhealth wanted to do the MRI there so that they would have the results immediately. First of all, they did not do an MRI there but did all the same tests that the VA in Lake Nona did prior to his transfer. Everything was to be done when he initially arrived at AdventHealth but nothing occurred. He laid in his bed for the next 4 days without even receiving the medications he usually took on a daily basis. The only thing that this location did was give him antibiotics without even feeding him. He went 3 days with no food, just intravenous as he was told every day that the MRI would take place the following day. On the day that he AMA'd out of the facility, which was 9-12-26, the nurse practitioner pulled out the IV and purposely cut my husband's hand open which made it bleed profusely. My husband felt like a second class citizen because of the treatment this nurse practitioner. On top of all this, the day my husband was leaving on his own accord, she brought in the night nurse to get him to change his mind. I would DEFINITELY not tell any Veteran to go to this facility and the VA in Lake Nona will hear of my displeasure on the treatment that my spouse received. read more

Had baby #1 at advent celebration it was so/so. Didn't feel like what we asked for was listened to. Baby #2 ALL NATURAl at advent Orlando and the doctors and nurses not only listened but they helped us stay on top of our goals for an all natural birth. They motivated my wife kept her positive. They respected everything we asked for and we had a beautiful daughter full natural. Staff was all friendly. The labor rooms are like hotel rooms!!! Even the showers. The bad- Food sucks like most hospitals. Like border line jail food. Luckily there's plenty of food local even a chick fil a just down stairs The recover rooms are not as nice and the showers in the recovery rooms are ehhh I would bring shower shoes (we did) We would have baby #3 here. read more

Matt and Gisselle at registration in Suite 370 were sweet, warm, and welcoming. While I appreciate the intention behind the new self check-in process, I found it somewhat complicated and not very smooth. I am concerned about how challenging this process may be for senior patients, as I can easily understand the frustration it could cause. Gisselle did stay nearby and offered assistance, which was helpful and appreciated. However, the length of time required to stand and navigate the system was difficult for me, as I live with chronic pain. My boys receive all their medical care here. The outpatient lab is quick and efficient. The major issue is the lack of transition services for kids to young adults. Complex medical kids that "age out" of PED's end up on the adult side with walkers, prunes and coffee. This hospital does a lot of good for our kids but as young adults they still have specific needs when they are only TECHNICALLY adults and this hospital system doesn't do anything to address this. Very frustrating. The medical teams are good but they are so much harder to get into with the shortage of medical personnel in this state. It stinks to have to wait months for an appointment but thankfully our medical team works the boys in if urgent. Overall a good medical team but serious need of young adult services! read more

The techs in the front and the security guard was very nice to me, when my husband and uncle brought me to the Hospital for my seizures, after having multiple in one day after falling and hitting my head. My nurse was really respectful and kind. My Dr that took care of me, outwardly acted like he cared what I had to say and agreed with the other Dr's that have been repeatedly diagnosed me with Epileptic seizures. But on my discharge paperwork put that I have pshycogenic Nonepilepic seizures, simply cause, despite me and my husband telling him, that the Nurologisit at Not only the AdvenHealthelth Celibration Location Diagnosed me with Epileptic seizures, but also Orlando Health and ORMC as well, because he didn't directly see me having a seizure. read more

I had to go into the hospital today for a CT with contrast. I was very very nervous. I had some bad experiences in the past and it brought back muscle memory to me, and I was literally in tears. A young technician who performed the test named Carlos G was amazing. He was kind, compassionate and caring. I got through the test only because of him. He's amazing! No one wants to go to the hospital, but it is a trip that many of us make at some point in our lives. I guess there are a few happy times, but the only one that I can think of is the birth of a child. I have been to this hospital a few times. Once even by helicopter (not the best experience, but I digress). The hospital has always offered me professional and compassionate care and I applaud the hospital and its wonderful staff. This time, I was just taking my mother for tests, but as I said, life and life's mishaps have brought me here a few times. I have spoke with Adiks twice in the past 2 days and both times Adika was professional, understanding and compassionate in regards to the issues I was having getting my Monjouro prescription. I thought I reviewed this place, I know I reviewed the cafeteria. Anyway, the hospital is very nice, easy to navigate. The cafeteria is INCREDIBLE. Literally 7 different types of food to choose from, American, cooked to order, sandwiches, made to order, a BIG salad bar, pre-made foods on a cooler, a taco bar, and a baked goods area. I'm forgetting something. Then there's an entirely different vegan restaurant with indoor seating or a outdoor patio near the lake. Or you can take your cafeteria food there. The room was a medium size. The furniture was well worn. The bathroom was large with nice tile. The large windows provided plenty of light. The nurses are very dedicated and caring. However, of my nurses disappeared for long periods of time. The hospital doctor wasn't visiting everyday. Sometimes when I called, I didn't get assistance unless I called two or three times. I didn't make it on the surgery list and I suffered and had to stay an extra day in the hospital. Transport services were very slow; a thirty minute wait is typical. read more

Everyone that we have had connections with has been amazing! We had to come for an appointment on the 3rd floor and then go to the imaging center afterwards. Two of the faculty in the doctors office literally walked with us from one end of the hospital to the other to make sure that we didn't get lost and made it in time for my husbands test in the imaging department. We went from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor and then were told that the check in office that we needed to go to was on the 3rd floor so up we went. Then when we got checked in we had to go to the 2nd floor for his appointment. These two faculty members walked with us the whole time to make sure we didn't get lost, because we would have totally gotten lost!!! lol They wanted to make sure that we didn't miss the appointment, because if you are late they have to reschedule. WE MADE IT AND I ADDED TO MY STEPS!!! lol I was so..ready for a coffee and we had past several coffee bars, but were afraid to miss our appointment so we didn't stop! When we got to the imaging center they didn't have any coffee! I was sitting waiting for my husband and looked up and one of the faculty that had walked us all over the hospital walked in with a coffee and danish for me! That is above and beyond kind!! Also, the nurses kept me up to date with how Larry was progressing throughout his whole testing time! He also agreed that everyone here is amazing and kind! read more

It is a call for attention to all the hospitals in the city, if there are so many doctors and nurses (service providers, etc.) ordering food in Uber, doordash and grubhub.. why not give them a space at reception by putting a kind of shelf or showcase so that the drivers leave the food and thus not have to put up with bad treatment and bad faces from the receptionists. read more

terrible hospital. the dr was so inept he tried to give a woman on dialysys a blood transfusion because her iron levels were low. they were low because she had been in this hospital for four days receiving treatment, but they wernt supplementing her iron. the staff are rude and unhelpful. the nurses and doctor's are slow, they dont make hourly rounds, only give meds when the patient demands them. i would rather suffer at home then end up in their care, better chance of recovery doing nothing. read more

I am being nice by giving them one star. My brother in law had a triple bypass surgery over a week ago. He was released and admitted a week later because he experienced two mini-strokes caused by 75% blockage in carotid artery. Prior to his triple bypass surgery, someone ordered an ultrasound but it was never done; they dropped the ball. This would have shown said blockage and prevented further damage. I called the hospital for assistance and both nurse charge Taylor and assistant manager Sarah were extremely rude and even hung up the phone as to avoid doing their job. My father, Martin Tickner, received care at AdventHealth Orlando that ultimately failed him. Despite years of CT scans clearly showing signs of lung cancer, he was repeatedly misdiagnosed. By the time the correct diagnosis was made, his cancer had progressed to Stage 4. During his final stay at AdventHealth, he endured nearly 20 procedures, became paralyzed, and suffered immensely before his death in June 2022. His care was further compromised by the hospital's rollout of the Epic electronic records system, during which critical information was unavailable to providers. I personally stopped a dangerous procedure that would have been performed while he was on blood thinners--because the doctors couldn't access his full medication list. AdventHealth's failure to diagnose, communicate, and provide coordinated care robbed my father of time, dignity, and peace. I urge families receiving care here to request second opinions, review records carefully, and advocate fiercely. Our loved ones deserve better. read more
