Came here today for a outpatient medical procedure. This is the lakemont location at Winter Park. The facility here is nice and clean - Staff here are friendly and professional. Parking here is easy they have a garage area to park cars. read more

Due to the findings from a recent medical check, I had to have an outpatient surgery done. Everything was set up, I received updates from my appointments and the surgery via both calls from the scheduling team, the doctor's office and also via Epic MyChart which is the helpful tool where you can track all medical care, notes and such easily via the phone app or your computer. I arrived at 630a the day of my surgery, was taken back into the prepping area where nurse Gemma got me all ready for my procedure, took my readings, checked up on me to ensure everything was ready to go and to ensure I was feeling at ease. There was also nurse Amy who came in, prepping me and another whose name I cannot recall but each one of them truly were wonderful. The level of care I was provided helped ease any anxiety or worries which could have gotten a hold of me. Dr. Sefton, the anesthesiologist came by to introduce himself, explain how he was going to provide his skills towards my care, informed me of what exactly he would monitor me for to ensure I was not feeling nauseous after the anesthesia I would be provided. A short bit after, Dr. Kemp came in to also go through how she was going to assist my health with the surgery I was going to have. My loved ones were brought in to sit with me for a bit before I was moved into the operating room, given some good drugs and I don't recall anything until I was moved into PACU for recovery. While in the PACU, my loved ones were able to come in as a nurse monitored me to make sure there were no aftereffects happening, I was dressed up once everything was clear that I was feeling well enough to head home, and my visit to the Outpatient was pleasantly done. I was given clear instructions on how to treat my procedure area and what to expect. I arrived home by noon time, shortly after took a nap and have not felt any nausea or pain at all. I was able to sleep well in my own bed, woke up today in great spirits and feeling wonderful considering all that has happened a short while ago. I went onto MyChart and read through all the clinical notes posted by Dr. Kemp where everything is clearly outlined so I can easily track my care. read more

I had my baby at Adventhealth and had a great experience. I felt comfortable and safe, everyone I interacted with was friendly and made me feel taken care of. I spent two nights at Adventhealth prior to my delivery and all the staff were personable and caring. During my stay while giving birth I was there for 3 nights. The staff were wonderful again and kept me well informed of what was going on. I felt very in control of what was happening and that it was my choice as to what path was taken for my childs birth. I ended up having a beautiful baby boy via c-section and he was delivered by the on-call doctor, not a doctor from my OB. The on call doctor put me at ease (bc i was a little freaked out!) and I felt safe in her care. The food was decent, some meals better than others and you get a daily smoothie which was a nice surprise! In the area of the hospital that I was in there was a little cafe type area that had a vending machine and some other small bites for free. It was a thoughtful touch for friends and family who were visiting to meet our new baby. Everyone thinks that Winnie Palmer is THE place to have your baby, but I personally think Advent Winter Park is really the place to be. ;) read more

Advent health if needing hospitalization or healthcare I highly recommend. The quality of care you get at any of the facilities in my opinion is top notch. It is faith based so maybe I am biased to that but I have been to Advent health facilities and non Advent health facilities and noticed the difference in care you get with the experiences you get as well. Upon arrival the front desk let us know where to go and the process. She then proceeded to give us a coupon for a free coffee, tea or hot chocolate in the gift shop which was a first for me. The staff are so kind and cool. I have been here 3 times for medical needs because I have a hernia. I would absolutely recommend. They checked for everything there absolutely everything. The bill wasn't extreamly high either and we're going to do a payment plan eventually to pay for it. They have treated me kindly and they found whatever was causing the issue today every time. The doctors take great care and speedy check in. The CAT scan people now know me. It's been an interesting year. But yes kind kind staff members and advent health is my favorite because it's a Christian hospital. They also pray for you and have used their prayer and had it help. You don't have to pay the bill right away they will allow you to wait. Kind doctors. read more

Everyone is so professional and so so nice here. They listen to everything you need to say and never talk over you. I needed X rays on my leg as I did something to it and couldn't even stand on it. They were so wonderful with wheelchair transport and so quick with all the tests needing to be run. If I lived further away I would still drive to this location for care as I trust them completely. Thankfully I don't need to come here often but when I do they do everything they can to make sure I get out of the ER reassured and with a plan for what to do next! read more

Advent Health, Winter Park, is a big hospital with a lot of ER docs and nurses. My last hospital trip this week, I got to see Dr. Mills, the Senior ER Resident who saved my life on the night of April 9th, as I went in with septic shock vs severe sepsis, the latter I had three times in the last three years. I reminded Dr. Mills of his accomplishment this past Tuesday night. He didn't remember and was very busy with other patients. Hours later, as the ER had a moment of respite, Dr. Mills took time to review his April 9th notes and remembered me as someone he believed would depart from this earth when he sent me upstairs on the night of the April night discussed. He came into my room Tuesday night, before sending me upstairs for admission, gave me a fist bump, and thanked me for reminding him of why he's an ER Resident. For those who don't know about Septic Shock, most die. Those who don't die, often have arms, legs, or all amputated, and somehow, Dr. Mills and his team prevented all of the aforementioned nightmare scenarios. read more

I've been here twice unfortunately and each time she took the time out to pray for me and encouraged me thru these rough times. She deserves her flowers! After all of my life without an overnight stay in a hospital, I managed to do it twice in 2021. Lucky me! Thanks to everyone who helped me and for being a part of my 700th Review. (Review 600 was a hospital too and I don't plan on making this a habit). 10 STARS FOR THE STAFF. Everyone I encountered was friendly, patient, caring and seemed to be loving what they did. The Nurses, Techs, Doctors, Patient Transport, MRI, EKG, XRay, Radiology, Imaging, Dietary and other people were all there to serve me for whatever I needed. Many thanks for helping me at all hours of the day and night. They were a little slow with reading results of tests which was a little frustrating. And those wheelchairs they use to move you from your room to MRI or wherever were gawd awful uncomfortable. The head nurse asked me how my Environment of Care was and I ripped those chairs to shreds. They don't handle bumps very well (going into an elevator) and the foot pads are tubular metal which doesn't feel all that great, even with those awesome socks on. Those chairs are pretty much the reason for a loss of a star. I thought I was getting assistance off of an airplane. Yikes! Hopefully someone reads this and does something about those terrible transport chairs. Kudos to the staff who manages to deal with them and slow to a snails pace with every tiny threshold they have to cross. They did everything necessary to make sure I was not in more danger when I would leave. They explained the results, why they needed the other tests, and gave me some advice on preventing this in the future. This was the second time I had to walk out of a hospital this year and I'm grateful I was able to. Thanks to the staff here and thanks to ALL of the people who work in healthcare and put in the long hours. THANK YOU!!! My experience at this hospital was unacceptable. I was admitted with severe pain and told I would be staying for a biopsy, but after three long days, the only thing done was an MRI. No one could give me answers, no one followed through on what they said would happen, and communication was almost nonexistent. I constantly had to ask for updates, and even then, I was met with vague responses or no answers at all. I felt completely dismissed and ignored while suffering in pain. Patients deserve to be treated with respect, compassion, and honesty -- none of which I received during my stay. I left the hospital feeling worse, not better, both physically and emotionally.The doctors weren't on the same page, regarding my treatment. A biopsy and PET scan were recommended by one of the attending physicians, neither were done. I left the hospital in just as much pain and more confusion than when I arrived. read more

My son who is diabetic, seizure disorder,MS and other mental health issues. He went to ER due to seizures. I was called by physician that he will be admitted to the hospital. My son did have agitation and I was called back to let me know he will be discharged. The family is out of town and this morning he is as found by my daughter wrapped up in hospital sheets sitting on the ground outside the apartment without a key. He was confused and didn't not know how long he was sitting outside in the cold. This is a heartless and horrible discharge. The initial visit went well, and the doctor was attentive. However, after being seen, I was left waiting for two hours just for crutches and paperwork to sign. Despite multiple attempts to get updates, nothing was done until I decided to leave the facility myself. Only then did the nurses rush to help, chasing after me as my friend pushed me out in a wheelchair. It was only at that point they finally printed the paperwork and handed me the crutches I had been waiting for. Hospitals are tough. Usually, people there can't wait to go home. That said this large maze of a hospital is pretty good. The staff I encountered all seemed pretty friendly, helpful and polite. They have a decent restaurant and pretty nice looking gift shop stores. Multiple actually. While I think there are always personal "red tape" issues with dealing with any health care, the building and basic staff you would interact with visiting here should be a pretty pleasant experience. read more

There has been great progress in making hospitals more patient-focused in recent years. Stays are shorter, facilities are nicer, and services are more varied. Some hospitals use concierge services and will do things like dry cleaning, washing your car, or even delivering your mail. Let's take a little rundown of this whole place: First impressions: Nestled in a great location on Fairbanks Avenue: not too far from the nice part of Winter Park and not too close to the not-as-nice part of Winter Park. The main entrance off of Loch Lomond Drive is very nice and is completed with a beautiful fountain out front. Self-parking is a little bit on the tough side, but if you are so inclined, there is a valet service available. Not a lot of shaded parking, so if you're parking in the summertime: crack those windows! Sidenote: the emergency room entrance is on the other side of the building, off of Lakemont Avenue. Parking is even slimmer there, but again, there is a valet service if you need to. Entrance: Dual sliding doors make way to a very spacious lobby area. Plenty of seating available, into intake areas on the left and right sides for separate needs. There is some construction going on currently, so there may be a little dust and tarps hanging around. Staff is very friendly, check-ins are usually fast here. If you get cold waiting, just asked receptionist for a warm blanket! Patient areas: The hallways can be long, but they end in very nice, clean, and what looks to be recently remodeled patient wings. Most, if not all, of the rooms are private rooms (One patient only) and are average size or larger The wings are quiet, and are kept very clean. In fact, there is a "quiet time" between 1 and 5 PM (At least on the wing I frequent). Cafeteria: A little tricky to find, the cafeteria is actually on the "basement" level. If the main fare lines happen to be closed, then you've got considerably fewer options. There is a salad bar that is always there, some desserts, and a beverage case. Staff: Finally, what can be the most important part of any hospital: the staff. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable, and do the best they can to try to meet any request you have. No complaints here. Overall: Great little underdog hospital that doesn't always get enough credit. Great surroundings, great staff, great service. Tough parking in the afternoon. read more

This place doesn't care about helping and making patients healthy, but just getting them out the door. We brought my sister here, and due to Covid-19 and her being 20, she had to be admitted by herself. She was in so much pain she could barely walk or talk. She had back pain, high white blood cells in her urine results, a fever of 101, throwing up, showed anemia in her blood results, and left her in her room crying and barely asking her questions. They discharged her and gave her nausea medication........ she couldn't speak up for herself and left the hospital still crying and in pain and no one helped. All of her symptoms are clear of a kidney infection so it's infuriating that they just let her go without actually helping or looking at her results (that we had access to online.) we came back to the hospital to try and get some answers once we were aware of her results and to see if they could prescribe her with an antibiotic or something to make the pain go away. The next woman we talked with (huge Karen) would barely let us get a word in, and swore by what the doctor (who we never saw) said. Said she didn't have a kidney infection, and was talking over my mom who was just speaking up for my sick sister. Just trying to get my sister better, and the woman just ignored and kept saying, there's nothing we can do m'am her results came back normal, (which they didn't.) we left with no answers and absolutely no help. They don't actually want to help, there was zero compassion whatsoever. If you're in pain, I suggest driving a little further to a better hospital. read more

I am 78 and in poor health and just fired by Tanya Haber at Advent Health because I complained of their very poor service and followup. Took weeks to get answers to simple questions and when I went to the office to complain she indicated that I was lying and defended the poor service of her staff. I've been to this hospital dozens of times - mostly to visit family members when they are ill, but I've also been admitted here myself. The hospital, smaller than other Florida Hospital locations, is clean, quiet, and has a very friendly staff. I've only ever encountered one awful nurse here, everyone else was empathetic and caring. The parking here is better than other FH locations too. They offer wi-fi campus wide, but it's pretty terrible. It's better to just turn it off altogether and work of cellular if you need your phone, tablet, or computer for any reason. read more

The hospital is horrible! The system is messed up. My mother in law went to this hospital for pneumonia, pulmonary high blood pressure and bronchitis. She was there for a few days. While being at this hospital they did not allow her to shower. Not that they have showers in each room. They have common showers you have to be cleared by a doctor to use. Who would want to risk using a public bathroom during covid in a hospital?! Not only that my mother in law was in the old building. The new building got their breakfast, lunch and dinner before those at the old building. The food wasn't all that great either. I'm giving this review a 2 star just because my mother in law said that at least the nurses were nice and they brought stuff to help my mother in law wipe down in bed because the showers were apparently off limits to my mother in law. I feel like patients should be treated better and the facilities should be updated before having people stay there. If it wasn't for the nurses I would have given a 1 star. It is very unacceptable and unprofessional to also send someone home without any medicine, antibiotics or any papers or information about the reason for being there in the first place, or follow up care. My mother in law was sent home with nothing and still doesn't feel well. Never going to this hospital again. read more

They are more focused on knowing your weight and height. They are very persistent in proving that you are sick with Covid. Do not go to this location unless it's your last resort or if your doctor is waiting for you there. Only go there for tests, not emergencies. This has turned into a clinic. God forbid, you have an emergency on a weekend. They don't have doctors only practitioners. Furthermore, they don't tell you what's wrong with you, give you some light pain killer and tell you to see your doctor, as soon as possible. I personally go to AdventHealth Orlando, advised by all of my doctors. I do recommend "The Baby Place" at this location. You can have your baby here with no worries, you will get excellent care by doctors, nurses and staff 24/7. read more

My father has been here for a week and let me start by saying the only good thing about this rehab is the therapist. the nurses have been hit or miss and mosr of them are rude. In the amount of time we have been here and my father was receiving care after suffering cardiac arrest.. the phlebotomist "tiara or Tiana" whatever her name is because nobody could give us a straight answer didn't even attempt to wake my father up and LIED about it to any nurse who would listen in the hallway. she put the needle in my dad waking him up at around 8am and decided to get offended and become unprofessional and threatened my mother for asking her name to report her actions and who was defending my father. to make matters WORSE!!!! the girl who takes orders claimed I was speaking another language to her even though I don't speak another language. I speak only English and I was born here. she then proceeded to make a joke about "how i should call social services since they don't feed you" to my 7 month old who was laughing. what an evil joke! who even says that and at your JOB? unprofessional and evil place. do not take your loved ones here. worst aren't health ever and i will be bringing this to corporate! read more

I was here awaiting the arrival of my first grandson. The first thing I noticed is how clean this hospital is. The place was immaculate. All the employees that we encountered were very friendly, caring and pleasant. We brought our daughter here due to an allergic reaction because it was the closest hospital. We wished we could have gone to Arnold Palmer instead. The nurses were kind and doing their best; however, it appeared as if they didn't have much experience with young children. It took them a long time with multiple attempts by different nurses to get the IV. Also, when they administered the epi-pen, they put the needle in closer to the knee on the top of thigh instead...I've been told by my daughter's allergist that it should have been on the side of the thigh and higher up. Thankfully our daughter was okay and a trooper with all the times she had to be poked. read more

I went to the er on March 20th because my doctor could not see me and the ask-a-nurse from my insurance told me to go to an er. I spent six hours waiting in an exam room for someone to examine a lump in my groin. Pain I had seen an ortho for had suddenly increased over the weekend and this grapefruit size lump appeared. The dr in the er was on the phone to ortho but never looked at the lump. Perhaps if I had been more overt in my pain but I was trying to meditate to keep things under control. Anyway, I complained days later, received a call from risk management a week after that but still have a bill for over $1,000.00. I was able to see my primary and was diagnosed with an incarcerated inguinal hernia. One look would have told the er doc this. I have issues with the lack of treatment and then being billed for it. Even risk management said they would support my view. Stay away from the Winter Park Advent er unless you you have no other choice. read more

My daughter was transported here by ambulance given stroke like symptoms and 2 days later we are still waiting to see the neurologist. She has had CT scans and MRIs but they have not been able to have a neurologist review them with her. Don't recommend this place for emergencies! You would be better off going to a larger hospital. Had my lumpectomy there on April 16 and it was as good as a breast cancer experience can be. All nurses and staff were kind and attentive throughout the process. My husband and family were given status updates by code on a rolling screen. Husband said code updates were not done promptly. After the doc said I came through surgery successfully, I showed in surgery for a long time. One kind nurse rubbed my back during a particularly uncomfortable surgery prep procedure involving inserting a wire into me. She even gave me a hug when we said goodbye. It brought tears to my eyes. I feel bad I don't remember her name. Another older nurse gave me a tip about how to sleep comfortably on my surgery side using a travel pillow. Then another put on my hospital grippy socks before surgery. TLC abounds for cancer patients. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was it was uncomfortable for me to be in the regular ultrasound waiting room in my hospital gown in a wheelchair. Could hospital cancer patients have a more private waiting room with soothing decor, current magazines and a tv? I had to fast before surgery so no water or snacks there. One non hospital patient asked two of us in wheelchairs why hospital patients were there. She was clearly uncomfortable. I wasn't uncomfortable until she said that. Other than that. Great Hospital for L&D. I have had both of my babies here & would recommend it to anyone. The nurses are great- friendly, calm, informative & most of all caring. The L&D experience was greatly improved because of the care they provided. I was a comfortable as can be expected in the L&D room. The Hospital is currently undergoing some renovations at this time. Hopefully they also improve their postpartum rooms where you spend the next 2 nights. They could use some improvements in lighting, blinds & accessibility for new mothers from the bed to the baby or side items. Our room had blinds that didn't work. For lighting, once you were in the bed you could not turn on or off lights without getting up again, which was frustrating when managing a newborn when no one in the room. They could also improve the bedding for fathers as they are important too & the single chair/bed is very uncomfortable. The nurses in the postpartum area were also great, but it varied per RN, as some were more knowledgeable & helpful than others. But, they always provided the care you were asking for. Another improvement that could be made is not having procedures during the night shift. This is very disruptive to a new mother & baby trying to set up their schedules & obtaining maximum rest. My experience was that once the baby was sleeping the scheduled procedure was about to begin which would wake up & upset the baby. For example, circumcision was schedule for 10pm & labs were early morning based on the baby's delivery time. It would be nice to have these items done during the day hours. Overall, I would recommend this hospital for future mothers, however I hope they can make some changes to make their stay more enjoyable. read more

Starting about a year ago, I got tested for Covid and the nurse shoved it so aggressively up my nostril that I bled for 5 minutes straight, and I've never had a nose bleed before. I didn't think anything of it. I know it can happen sometimes, but then the same nurse had trouble putting in my iv, as well as taking it out. I left with my arm covered in dry blood down to my hand hours later. Once I found out I was pregnant I gave this er another shot, considering the fact that it was a baby place hospital. Boy was I wrong. These drs don't give flying flip about who they're paid to care for. I came in after I wasn't able to hold even down water for over 2 weeks, at this point I was blacking out and could barely stand. I overheard the nurse and doctor in the hallway discussing how the nurse wanted to try the heart rate Doppler on me, being pregnant. The doctor told her that because I am a Medicaid patient not to do anything extra because "they only come in here for free ultrasounds". So I've been dehydrated and passing out for weeks and they wouldn't even check the baby's heartbeat. Then I asked the nurse not to give me Benadryl (due to previous bad reactions from the drowsiness side effect) and she gave me something else with the same side effects. Mind you I came in for vomiting... and all the medicine did was knock me out. Once I woke up they gave me a sip of apple juice and two crackers. 5 minutes later they said they were sending me home because I didn't throw it up yet. Once I was discharged I threw up in the car. When I got home I looked at my paperwork and I had been diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum, which would make me a high risk pregnancy. They had not mentioned any of this to me at the hospital. I called and the nurse that answered the phone said "yeah so you have morning sickness you're fine" needless to say I hung up. Late December I went into the er once again with Covid symptoms (still pregnant) so Ill I hadn't felt the baby move for a while. Waited in the waiting room for over an hour after getting swabbed. Someone finally came out to the hallway and named off about 10 patients and walked us all the way to the other side of the hospital with curtain separated rooms. The nurse or doctor came in had told me that If my test came back positive to go get the Covid regeneron (that at the time had warned pregnant women to not get)... then I could hear other drs and nurses discussing that another patient was pregnant and needed a fetal Doppler. They again dismissed my pregnancy due to me being a Medicaid patient. Overall, this hospital sucks. If you're a pregnant Medicaid patient, please beware. I would go to the Winnie Palmer er, or advent health Orlando. Anything but winter park. read more

I am a first time Mom and I wanted to say that your entire OB staff that I was helped by last week April 28th to May 1st were absolutely astonishing. They all were so very attentive, informative, thoughtful, and kind. I don't have last names unfortunately, but I do have their names. Huge thank you to, Thisha April , Miaranda, Judith, Janay ,Kate, Karen, Anjali and Joy! Thank you guys so much for everything! Now there was one woman who went ABOVE AND BETOND!!! She was literally the reason I got through a natural delivery. She was constantly with me doing everything from stretches, positioning me, to keeping my spirits up. Alex was seriously the most amazing nurse in the world. I seriously can not dote on her enough. I would not have been able to have our daughter with out her. She is a HUGE asset to your team at winter park and deserves a shout out, raise, and anything else you guys can give her!
