I just recently found out about this location when I was making an appointment. What I like the…read moremost is that there is no fee for parking (not like the Bethesda location). There were two entrances to get into the parking lot and once you are parked, the building is right there. The entrance to the building faces Observation Drive. Once parked, enter building 20410, walk up the stairs, go right and WRA will be the 2nd entrance on your right (glass doors). Enter, check in and have a seat. The employees I interacted with were very pleasant, especially the lady at the front desk. Had a great conversation. Once your name is called, you will get the opportunity to check your items into a wooden locker (you are in charge of the key during your appointment). As you check out and retrieve your items, you then just leave the key on the outside of the locker (how you saw it before accessing it). There is signage providing where to dispose of your gown after your appointment. This location has been opened for a year (shared by one of the employees) and just based on service, experience, and location, I will definitely be back for sure.

I originally called this practice because I had heard they offered a more comfortable open bore MRI experience, but when I asked the scheduler about it she told me that only closed was offered. I told her that the website mentioned it, she then responded that told me she wasn't aware of that. Hmm. Odd. Maybe I need to speak with someone else then? But for now let me just get on the books, I thought. Well, that's when the frustration continued because I found myself repeating basic information over and over and over again. I got to the point where I would intentionally add more pauses when repeating the information, the scheduler would repeat back the information to me...but then moments later would ask me to repeat the same information again. Is this how everyone at the clinic will be? Not listening the first or second time, therefore requiring me, the patient, to constantly repeat myself when it comes to an already uncomfortable experience? It didn't inspire confidence in me, that's for sure. They also talked very low, like they were shy -- I had to ask them to speak louder several times, then they would barely increase the volume. Think just a hair above whisper-soft instead of average tone. The low end of the volume dial on an old radio instead of right in the middle. Now that I'm reading the other reviews here about how their appointments went...I feel like I might have been better off just sticking with the Radiology clinic I normally go to instead of trying a different one. I'd recommend that the clinic train its support staff and coach them on professionalism, as they are often the first-line impression and can sometimes make or break an experience for the patient. Have them speak confidently and in a steady tone (not above a whisper). Teach them active listening skills, ensure that they have decent reasoning skills (the scheduler got my address confused for the doctor's address -- although the MRI order clearly noted which was which). Furthermore, have them versed on what is offered and what isn't. I had to explain to the scheduler what I meant with "wide-open bore MRI" although that's exactly how it was described on the website. Shouldn't they be familiar with that and able to talk to it when a patient asks about it? I'll more than likely go back to my old clinic, at least I know what to expect with them and they've been pretty consistent with their service over the years.

This week I have been to the Germantown office several times. I was greeted with a smile each time. They worked hard to fit me in one day. My doctors always recommend I go there for my scans.

Several times they have taken multiple people back before me who got there after I did. Don't believe their website that these mammograms are comfortable, they're not. If you end up needing a biopsy, talk to the doctor before the procedure about where she plans to do it. I have a visible scar that I feel like could have been avoided if she'd inserted the needle from the side rather than the top, but she didn't even mention that the biopsy needle would leave a scar. The positives: The technicians are kind and compassionate. Parking is free and the location is convenient. Scheduling appointments is easy on their website.

I don't want anyone having to go through the frustration that I went through. Washington Radiology has been my trusted healthcare facility for the past 13 years. They do my yearly mammograms. The front desk has always been organized and helpful. The employees at the front desk have been kind, professional, and supportive. The technicians are top tear. They are very supportive,professional, and respectful. I have given this office 5 stars for the past 3 years. This year, is the first time I have had an issue with the results from my mammogram. I had called 4 times and waited for over ten days, over a 2 week period to speak with the facility about my mammogram results. After, 4 calls and ten days, I was able to speak to the office manager, Kimberly Scott! She said she hadn't received my prior messages. She assured me that there was nothing wrong with my mammogram. She is a very nice person, but when you want to speak with a medical professional, the doctor who read your mammogram, you should be able to do so. I was told that the doctor was very busy, she would email the doctor, but there was no guarantee that the doctor would get back to me. So, let's go over this once more, I have gone to this office for over ten years. I have never asked for any help. But, this time after spending over 4 hours trying to reach anyone, but a switchboard, which is unable or unsuccessful in trying to reach the location...I am told by the business manager, that the doctor is too busy to call me? So, after undue frustration, I finally received a call from the doctor, which was 3 weeks after I had begun trying to reach her. I should have had a return call from the doctor with in 24-48 hours from my first call. The businesses reluctance to place calls directly to the location, they are handled by an answering service. That kind of service is not acceptable. So, in summary, if nothing is wrong with you, then by all means go to this location. But, please note, that if you ever have a question or an issue, getting through to a doctor is almost impossible. And, you might not want the stress and anguish involved.

After waiting and hearing nothing, I finally called myself and learned the results had apparently never been sent to my doctor. Patients should not have to chase down imaging results and wonder whether their results were reviewed or communicated. This isn't just an inconvenience, it's a patient care issue. People get imagining done because they are trying to rule out or evaluate potentially serious conditions. If someone simply assumed their doctor had received the report and didn't follow up, important findings could be delayed. Definitely find another center if you care about your health.

Appointment this morning for an ultrasound. I had scheduled it online yesterday and put all my…read moreinfo into the system. When I arrived, I signed in and within two minutes was asked to come to the desk, where I provided hard copy of my order, and showed my other documents. Also paid my copay (which was listed and explained in the online check-in). All went very smoothly. I also was able to schedule another ultrasound for tomorrow for another issue and the person at the desk explained the prep required and what the copay will be. I was brought to the exam room within a few minutes and the technician asked me some questions, explained the procedure and the whole thing took around 10-15 minutes. I am very pleased with my experience this morning. My appointment was at 9:00 am. I arrived, as requested, at 8:45 am and was back in my car going home at around 9:15 am. Tomorrow's procedure is longer and more involved, but I am anticipating a smooth process. If my experience differs for my procedure tomorrow, I'll follow up.

Went to urgent care, they gave me a referral ON COMMUNITY RADIOLOGY ASSOCIATES LETTERHEAD. I call CRA on a Friday and get appointment for the following Friday. CRA doesnt put in my pre-authorization to insurance until 3 days later! Its a 15 day pre-auth process with the insurance company..so I call insurance. Insurance is willing to work with me and say if CRA can call and say its urgent, they will approve now and I won't have to wait 15 days. BECAUSE WE ARE TALKING ABOUT CANCER HERE. I call CRA. Worthless. THEY WILL NOT CALL BC "THE DOCTOR ISNT SOMEONE WE NORMALLY GET REFERRALS FROM SO WE WILL NEED YOUR FULL MEDICAL HISTORY" WHAT IN THE ACTUAL...?? I have a referral for a CT scan for suspected cancer and they wait until 3 days before my appointment to even submit it and when I fix their laziness and do their job for them they say "now we need your full medical history?!?!?" There are plenty of other radiology services in the DMV than this trash.

I believe when you make an appointment at one of their facilities you are sent to a central number. The woman I talked to was really nice, and when she told me their first available appointment, which was only a week or so away, she said "do you want to just get it over with before the holidays?" Yes I did. The International Drive office has plenty of convenient parking. Their entrance is right by the front door to the office building. The reception desk is just as you enter the office. The receptionists are business-like, but that's fine, it's a medical office. The waiting room is set up comfortably and with COVID social distancing many chairs were removed, so there was plenty of room between seats. I was called back shortly after I completed my paperwork to start my procedures. My technician was really nice and she got my two scans completed efficiently and easily. As she said, I got the results of one the next day and a letter with the results of the second one (normal) a week later. All in all, for having a medical procedure, it was a pretty easy experience.

Went for a CT scan with contrast. The provider couldn't find my veins for the IV and started to…read morePUNCH my arm to try to get the veins to appear - this isn't the first time there have been issues finding my veins, but no one has ever punched me before! As she was unsuccessful, I was asked to wait several hours in a small changing closet for another provider to try to give me the IV. The next provider did not move me to a real patient room, but rather stood in the entry way of the closet and just shoved the needle into my skin and poked it around unsuccessfully until I passed out. I then gained consciousness to find cockroaches running across the floor. The provider looked at me and jokingly said "where did those come from?!" I finally got the IV but it was placed in my hand and I was told to hold my hand during the procedure as the hand isn't usually used for this procedure and it could start to swell dangerously. Thankfully, while I experienced extreme pain, there was no swelling. I was not at all warned that the contrast entering the IV would be so painful! I also called a week ahead to ask if I would need an IV and was incorrectly told that I would not need one, so I was definitely not expecting this ordeal. I would never come back here!!
