Review only for Treetop and Zipline Adventure. Pretty disappointed especially since we didn't get to finish the whole adventure. There's an optional Black course at the end that we ran out of time so we ended up having to get lowered down. Our group took longer during the obstacle course intro area which was counted towards the time. The driver even came over to see what the hold up was. So we began on the actual course late. You're packed tightly into a van and driven up to the start of the Treetop Adventure. I've done another Zipline course excursion before and it included a lot of hiking whereas this one was pretty minimal. It definitely differed in safety. There seemed to only be one size harness and no one was weighed or height measured. One of the kids in the group definitely struggled to reach things. Since we were in the back we ended up helping people. Which I don't mind, I'm all for lending a hand. But on the other excursion I did there were two employees, one in the front and one in the back and I feel like that would've streamlined the process to move quicker. It was pretty inconsistent whether the instructor was in the front, back, or middle of the group. I also wish there had been some organization with the order of the group. There was another couple where the lady had done this course multiple times before and the instructor told her to go first. But the kids/teenagers wanted to be in the front of the line. They tended to be slower which slowed down the process. The kids pushed to go first and then their families followed so we ended up being stuck in the back. And the instructor didn't really enforce things. Like at the end with the optional Black course you have to get up this tricky ladder in order to be allowed on the course. You get two tries. The teen in front of us struggled and said he wanted to stop but ended up being helped up his second try, just to be immediately let down once he got up on the initial platform. Since we were running late on time my husband and I stood at the front to try to get on this last obstacle course first but the teens ended up rushing in front of us so we were again at the end. 5 of us ended up having to be let down due to time. I wasn't a huge fan of that since she actually lowered us right into a bush and I got a bunch of bug bites. Things largely depend on the group. Things just went slowly for our's and besides the ending 3 people had to be let down by the instructor (which is pretty time consuming). Another disappointing thing were the ziplines. They were pretty short and there were also some where everyone (including the instructor) stopped short and had to pull themselves to the end. At one the instructor even stayed behind to push a younger girl to help her make it further but she also stopped short. The lady who had done the courses before said she's never seen it happen this frequently. I think the lines were too slack. There's water coolers scattered around the course but no paper cups. So bring a backpack or fanny pack with a bottle. Also the lodge lost power when we got back. And we had a longer drive back so it made for an interesting bathroom visit at the end.. read more

This place is so fun! I bought a groupon on Memorial Day Weekend for my boyfriends birthday and went on the 4 hour zip lining course. The zip lining is a blast and provides a variety of obstacles that get more difficult as you go further into the course. If you're not in decent shape you might not be able to make it through all of the courses. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in the event that you get stuck anywhere on the course. As expected you are somewhat high off the ground so make sure no ones afraid of heights! They strongly urge safety and go through a demo before you make it to the actual course. Provided you have enough time based on how fast your group goes/everyone's abilities they will take you to the Black course which was quite difficult. No pressure to go through it if you don't want to. You can bring a backpack with snacks/water if you want but there aren't any bathrooms so proceed with caution. Overall I had an amazing experience and would encourage you to check this place out. I'm excited to go again! read more

She went back and forth trying to argue with my group. Shortly after, she got into an argument with another group. She should receive customer service training. If you're wondering if you should come here, or buy that Groupon or Living Social deal, the answer is YES! Do it! You will not regret it. My husband and I came here on a Thursday for the Treetop Adventure course. Upon arriving we filled out some consent forms, used the restrooms (which are large and clean and accessible), and waited to get suited up for our excursion. We didn't know if you could bring things on the adventure, like water bottles, phones, etc., but we realized that they had little backpacks for sale, so apparently you could. We didn't think to bring a small backpack, so we bought one from Skytop for $10.00. We got our sunglasses, water bottles, phones, and wallets into the bag. Once the departure time came, our leader, Jess, handed out the gear and made sure everyone was suited up correctly. Then we went to the small demo course and learned how to use our harnesses, recognize the color coding of the ropes, and use the zip lines. We didn't depart until everyone had gone through the demo course and was comfortable with everything. After everyone felt comfortable we jumped into a ridiculous, giant military trunk and drove up to the first platform. There were four courses, one of which being a purely zip line course. You had to walk over ropes, planks, bridges, stumps, and fly down zip lines. It was absolutely so so fun, and Jess was the best at keeping us all safe and showing us how it's done. There are no bathroom breaks, so make sure you go before you depart. Also, bring plenty of water and maybe a snack to eat between courses. Jess seriously deserves a raise if for no other reason than the "skateboard" feature. Basically, you stand on a board that looks like a skateboard or snowboard, let go, and let Jess catch you when you get to the end. She basically broke every single person's landing, and was the cushion for us. Whose job involves letting people slam into her over and over again? Jess's! She needs more $$$$. Especially since she's going to college in the fall! Anyway, this was just the most fun time we've had in so long. I'm now obsessed with zip lining and feel accomplished that I made it through the courses. A+ experience. read more

This review is for the treetop / zipline course. We've been several times over the years and were big fans. The course is pretty beginner friendly, which works for us because we're not very athletic folk. The problem we ran into this time that made me never want to return was that we were put with a group of 8-10 and another family (including a child who might not have met the height requirement) who took about an hour to get through only the first of 4-5 courses, out of the 2 hr alloted time. We were the first ones done and waited around for the entire hour as we weren't allowed to start the rest of the course without the rest of the group. Due to the time wasted, the tour guide had us skip the remaining 2-3 courses in the middle and just finish out with the long zipline at the end. Essentially, we only completely max 40% of the course, but realistically it was more like 25%. When we asked for a partial refund or voucher, since we weren't allowed to complete the course through no fault our own and solely because we were unlucky to be grouped with people who struggled to do the course, we were just told, "No, it just comes down to the timing" aka suck it up, you just wasted about $25-30 standing around and we couldn't care less. So yeah, the course is fun and all, but fairly useless if they don't let you complete it, and refuse any compensation. Not like I make a habit of throwing away $55 a person. read more

I was very disappointed eith their zip lines. I have done their thrilling zip limes twice and it was way beyond expectations. But now, the new zipline system that they have, slows you down big time. Sooooo much fun and the best adventure course out there! They just installed a new safety system that takes a little getting used to, but it's easy once you get the hang of it. If you're an experienced climber or somebody who is in REALLY great shape, do yourself a favor and go during the week when it's less busy. We were the only 2 in our group and it was nice to go our own pace and not have to wait in line behind other adventurers. They go rain or shine so just bring a change of clothes with you and leave it in the car if you get wet. They have a new "black course" which is the hardest one and you'll only get to try it if there's time at the end AND if you can get up the first weird ladder thing. I'm happy to say that both my boyfriend and I were able to do it. Yay! The staff was very friendly and knew their ins and outs of the course and I felt safe the entire time. After the day is over, do yourself a favor and do the hike across the street. Keep staying to the left on the path and you'll get to a cool waterfall and then across the falls are really cool trails so have fun exploring! read more

Bought a living social deal for the adventure zipline course for $40 for two people. This deal is definitely worth it! The zipline is not that high (10-50feet) but it's still fun to do. I called in to book the zipline deal for 14 people. They told me that they usually do groups of 10 for every half hour, but they were willing to make an adjustment for us and allow us to combine two time slots so our group could go together. We had two guides that came with us on the obstacle courses. The ride from the adventure center to the course is bumpy, so hold on to something! There are three courses and several small ziplines throughout the course and one big zipline. The obstacles are somewhat challenging but definitely doable even if you're afraid of heights. It was well worth the $20. read more

Mix ziplining and an insane treetop obstacle course with some ninja skills you never knew you had and what do you get?? A pretty freaking amazing day. A friend of ours snagged a deal to check this place out so a bunch of us drove to the poconos to try it out. It's quite a drive into the woods and yes, it's actually even harder to find on a navigator... My tip is to set your garmin or tomtom or what have you to the lodge itself and then continue in to where the actual activities take place! You have to arrive a half hour prior to read and sign your waiver, get fitted for a harness (use that bathroom before you do because it sure as heck isn't happening after) and then going through the mini trial park to build your confidence and teach you all the basic rules (red and red and you are dead lol) After all is set and done, off you go with your group in an incredibly bumpy truck up the road to a fun maze of tree top obstacle courses... My tip before you go? 1. Pack gloves. Rock climbing, weight training, biking etc is fine. Anything to protect your hands because you will need it. They sell a cheap one-size-fits-all pair at the main office for $3 but try to bring a pair. 2. Sneakers. Flexible sneakers... You will be walking across tight ropes, hopping and balancing on logs and planks and climbing through netting... Very very not flipflop and sandal friendly. 3. Work on your balance before you go. You will need it. And always remember to relax and breathe... And use your core muscles a lot. 4. Maintain composure and don't get scared. Even if you fall, your harness will catch you and it's all good. Just always remember to be cautious and always secure your harness and have fun! 5. Attire...tshirt or tank and shorts. Girls don't wear short shorts because the harness can cut into your leg. 6. Nowhere really to eat there but we recommend the Pourhouse nearby. Great selection of much needed celebratory beer and burgers. Without giving away too much, be prepared for a fun combination of ninja warrior balancing obstacles mixed with exhilarating trips down a zip line. The last zip is the best and if your guide is cool, he or she will let you have a second run on it! It was an amazing time and I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for something adventurous and physical to do... Oh and who isn't scared of heights. My removal of one star is only because there was absolutely no source of food or drink anywhere on site. Not even a vending machine or a small shop. Pack a water bottle for later.... Lots to do and see here. Wall climb, ATV tours, zip-lining and more! Took my son here with a Groupon deal to go zip-lining. I scheduled for the first tour of the day to help beat the heat and the crowds, which ended up being nice because there were only two others in our group. The whole group has a lead/employee with them to guide you through the various stages, and you move as fast as the slowest member of the group. There was a variety of obstacles, which made it fun for my 8YO, as well as myself, a 37YO athletic male. Plenty of zip-lining at each stage, with a really long one towards the end. Plus the obstacles were 10-20 feet off the ground, so you felt like you were moving through the tree tops. It wasnt completed at the time of our visit, but there is now a more advanced 4th stage (or is it 5th?) of zip-lining and obstacles that you get to go on if the leader/employee feels you're ready for it, so we'll have to go back for that next. I just visited this Adventure Center on Sunday the 17th of October. This was the 2nd time that my friend and I have done this TreeTop Adventure. I have to say that the fist time I did it, was about 2-3 years ago and I was in much better shape. Besides that, this park is UBER fun and for people of all ages. Make sure that you are not afraid of heights because there are areas where you are up pretty high. The course takes a lot of core work and coordination which leaves you feeling sore the next 2-3 days. Our guide Corey was really cool and helpful along the course. For those that were complaining about there being no water or vending machines. Last time I checked you're on a ski mountain and I don't recall vending machines or outlet plugs being installed in the middle of the woods. As for water or drinks, read the fine print and you're good. Bring your own water and make sure you dress appropriately. There are apps on peoples phones these days that provide you with the weather outlook. Overall, would I do this again...MOST DEFINITELY! read more

We only did the zip line course and it was a ton of fun! The courses are challenging but not in a too difficult way. The group behind us had kids who were 13yrs old and they were completing the course with ease. Our guide was super energetic, informative and helpful throughout the entire adventure. Skytop just added additional courses that are all zip line and it's a great course. The grounds are beautiful the lake next to the course was a great spot to sit and eat lunch after the adventure. Came here for treetop/zip lining and it was AMAZING. We were in good hands with Cory as our guide who was as funny as he was attentive. It was definitely challenging but doable. This comes from a fairly sedentary skinny person. I do not consider myself fit. We were a group of 9 (ages from 12-32), and only one of us didn't finish the bonus round. I thought I'd be scared of heights but it wasn't bad at all. Recommend bringing a small backpack if you plan on completing all 5 courses, which took us about 4 hours. Just attended an event with my friends at the Skytop Lodge / Zip Line Adventure course and I thought that I would offer some feedback and an opinion for those looking to partake in the experience. My review is based on our overall experience - I completed all 3 stages and here is my feedback: Course value, challenge and fun: 5 stars Overall experience: 2 stars - and below is why: About the course...It is GREAT! We all loved the course and had an awesome time! One of the most unique experiences our group of friends have experienced. There were a lot of challenging stages and while it looks easy, it is a bit harder than anticipated. It took almost 3 hours for us to finish. We were a group of 5 and our scheduled time slot placed us with another 8 or so people for a total of ~12. Unfortunately, some members dropped out before completing the first stage and some member of my group of friends did not complete the final stage. Here is where I have an issue with Skytop - It is my opinion that our "guide" lacked MATURITY and COMMON SENSES needed to ensure the safety of the attendees. He was 18, I can't blame him for not having life experience. He was helpful on several challenges, but just lacked common sense as to how to check on his group. The guide was in the middle. He was one person away from me. As mentioned, there were about 12 people in our group with varying skills. It is fair to say that people will perform differently based on a number of factors (age, physical condition, phobias, etc.) 2 people dropped out in the middle of the first stage due to an injury - it sounds like one of the individuals cut their hand on the zip-line. These two individuals were at the back of the group and lagging; I would presume that they were more challenged by the course and may not know how to approach the obstacle. In my opinion, from a perspective to understand your guests, at the very start of the orientation, the guide should have assured that he had good enough insights into how people were performing and their capabilities. Making this assessment could potentially provide the guide with insights that additional effort is required to shore up those who may require more support. The back of the group was certainly trailing - in my opinion, the guide SHOULD have waited to for them to catch up and/or fallen back to assess the situation. He could have offered help, advice, guidance, direction - the initial orientation was VERY brief (under 10 min.) Taking a more precautionary action could have mitigated opportunities that would have caused injury. In my opinion, the Management lacked common sense and should enforce improved safety requirements. Is the guide to attendee ratio adequate based on skill level of the guests? Two guests leaving in the middle of a course due to a cut hand would infer 'No' It is also my opinion that management should assess that each guest is adequately dressed...little did I know, a friend of mine wore slip on driving shoes - I only found out after the event. As a testament to his effort, he made it through the 2nd stage (out of 3) before quitting. We had at least 2 people check our harnesses and NO ONE mentioned anything about his shoes. Worse off, it looks like shoes were available for rent. REALLY? We all loved the course and would do it again - I am VERY disappointed at the management of this establishment and would offer the following advice: 1) Ensure people are dressed appropriately and turn away those who are not. Thinking about my friend's safety; he was not told that his shoes were inadequate and/or that shoes are available for rent. 2) Hire staff members who have some level of common sense. It is not about age, but is about sensibility. Make sure to hire people who have an understanding of how to look after a group to make sure everyone has a good time. 3) Assess the guests, understand who is/is not comfortable - perhaps have dedicated slots for new attendees versus those who are more experienced. A beginners group, would be helpful for many doing this course for the first time - new guest will require more time and guides who have different experience. I am writing this review because I feel really bad for the members who were hurt and had to drop out; it is my opinion that the owners/managers could do better to make sure everyone has a good time. My two cents for those of you attending: 1) take full advantage, it is a great course. 2) Look after your own group - and others, 3) wear appropriate clothing, shoes, etc. Please note that I did not question COURSE SAFETY in my review as, overall, I felt comfortable and safe on the course when strapped in as they required. While strapped in as they required, I could dangle (while uncomfortable) and be perfectly safe if I could not tackle any of the challenges. If you do see opportunities for improvement, I hope those of you who attended will take a moment to pose it. read more

Just like many others, I, too, bought the living social deal to zip line here and I had a freaking blast! I went zip lining one other time so I kinda knew what to expect, but this adventure exceeded my expectations so far that I'm honestly ready to buy the deal again and go back in a couple months. The staff here was absolutely fantastic! Our instructor was Deanna (sorry if I misspelled that!) and she was great. Given that it was a Monday during school season, our group was relatively small (only 8 people), and that was the best part about it. There was no rushing through anything, we were able to take our time and really enjoy all of the different obstacles courses, zip lines, and the fun bonus course. Overall, it took our group of 8 about 2.5 hours to complete the instruction course, the actual zip line/obstacles course, and come back down to the Adventure Center. If you see this deal on Living Social (and I know it's there right now), make sure you get it and go have fun! read more

We LOVED our time here! We purchased a zipline package off of Pulsd.com - 40 dollars for two people - an amazing value! After completing the activity, I would have gladly paid full price anyway to compensate for the great time we had! Our guide Rachel was extremely sweet and professional. There were only four of us total in our group, so we had plenty of time to complete every obstacle course. We even had enough time for a "bonus" course at the end! Each course consists of a combination of ziplines and obstacles. The obstacle course did have some challenging parts to it. The harness keeps you completely secure, so even if you fall, there is absolutely no danger of getting hurt. Our guide said it is EXTREMELY rare for people to fall anyway. Just take your time & enjoy! I wouldn't consider myself the most athletic person in the bunch, but I was able to complete it without any issues and within very good time. There is a "practice" course that takes place at the start of the tour - merely five feet off the ground. This was extremely helpful in that it allowed us to get comfortable in our gear, and practice moving our hooks and pulleys along the track. Courses are color coded for easy remembering! We spent the rest of the day exploring the beautiful lodge at Skytop Mountain, and geocaching on the local trails. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Couldn't have asked for a better day. One thing to note: We did not have any cell phone/GPS service for at least 10-15 miles up to/around the lodge! The Adventure Center does offer free wifi if needed though! Thanks again! read more

We went to Skytop for the Treetop and Zipline Obstacle course after picking up a Living Social deal ($16pp in comparison to the regular price of $50pp). The staff was great especially our course instructor, Kevin. He was thorough throughout the entire time, from the training course to the actual courses. He was also very pleasant and spoke about the different groups he had led; and tips on how to complete certain sections of the courses. The obstacle courses was awesome. We had time to complete 2 of the 3 courses available at Skytop (green= beginner, blue= intermediate and silver= the challenge course- the highest zipline). The green course was the longest but overall the easiest but some of the log bridges were difficult and moderately scary. The blue course was shorter but the ziplines were higher and longer. I had an awesome time in the 2.5 hrs we spent on the course. If it isn't a 2.5hr drive from Philly, I can see myself going every available weekend. Anyone can do this course whether you are a kid or 80 years old (that's what our tour guide told us as his oldest student was). They group you in a group with around 10 students and give you all the instructions you need on a demo course first. At first I thought i was going to have trouble but everyone there is in the same boat and you pick up on it easily. Came here over the past weekend with my mom using a Groupon deal. We had a great time! Our guide, Ian, was very friendly and cracked jokes along the way. The entire course took 3 hours for 14 people. This included the brief safety demonstration. The few of the obstacle courses were challenging but so much fun to take on and conquer! It definitely was an upper body workout. My friends and I went for a girls weekend adventure that we purchased through Living Social. We started with the treetop adventure. We lucked out with Jamal as our guide. He cheered us on through the when we said we couldn't do it and pushed us along to finish. I know I couldn't have made it through without him. The second day was UTVing with Eden. Again, she was fun, knowledgeable and kept us at a fun yet safe pace. Final shout out is for Mary at the desk. We were a group of 6 and we all had a blast! Let me start off by saying that this deal includes 7 ziplines and 35 challenging obstacles. The obstacles take place at the height of the zipline ranging from 20 to 40 feet. Maybe even more depending on the obstacle. The obstacles are challenging. From walking on a wire to walking on wood planks to swinging logs, to wood skateboards, you will never find yourself unentertained. I am not a very fit person but i was able to finish all the obstacles and ziplines. And it felt great to have accomplished all those challenges. Our guide kaylen was a sweetheart n very patient. I decided to surprise my friend who is a retired navy man. We had a great time at Skytop. The staff is friendly. I must tell you the obstacles are not easy. They challenge your mind, fears & confidence. Only the strong will complete all tasks. If I can do it you can too!! I feel like a stronger person mentally as well as physically. My self-esteem has improved!!! For me this was more than just having fun. I needed to prove to myself that I am capable of achieving my goals. I'm not a failure. I can over come my fears & insecurities. Because of what sky top adventure center has shared with the world, I feel like I'm the queen of the jungle:) I can walk with my head held high. A group of friends and I purchased a deal for the Treetop obstacle course and ziplining through Living Social. We all had such a fun time. It took us about 3-4 hours to get through all the courses including the challenge course. Some obstacles were easier than others but some were definitely challenging. The last challenge course was REALLY challenging but it was so much fun and you feel like a champ after completing it. Doug was our guide and he was fantastic. He was patient with those that fell behind and he was always energetic, encouraging and reassuring. He was patient and thorough when he went through the safety procedures in the beginning with us. I'm afraid of heights but I wasn't afraid at all during this obstacle course. Not once did I not feel unsafe. The ziplining was really relaxing. My only problem was trying to find the place! We circled around for 20 minutes and we almost didn't make it to our scheduled time (they start right on the dot). My advice: leave early and give yourself enough time to find the place; it's really hard to spot. Call them if you get lost. If you drive by a large gravel covered parking lot, that's the place you want to park your car and you can walk to the adventure center from there. Overall, I highly recommend the treetop obstacle course and ziplining here. We had an amazing time! read more

Amazing fun and adventure on the treetop and zip lining course! My son and I can't stop talking it it up! I am absolutely petrified of heights but toughed it up and did this for my son. So so worth it ! So much fun, the zip tour guide Ian was absolutely fantastic - TOP- in giving tutorials, reassuring, guiding when someone needs it (yes I did), and assessing what someone's comfort level is ... Another word about IAN the zip tour guide. I can't say enough good things about him. He was so on top of who needed help, reassurance. He had eyes in the back of his head on top of who was clipping and being safe and immediately calling out and climbing back and forth to keep tabs on different people in the group. One other woman and I were very nervous - and he was so on top of everything and giving specific pointers on how to walk across the different obstacles best... When I was distracted for a second he would immediately see if I forgot to clip and would stop me for a second and remind me ... He encouraged me when he knew what I could take on and knew what I would feel uncomfortable with and probably shouldn't . IAN helped me take on my fear of heights and was INCREDIBLE! There were even a couple women at my fear level and one worse, but we all had a blast, made some new friends. Also had a workout, an amazing amazing time and with wonderful views of the poconos. I knew I was in a great place when I was able to enjoy the wow-some view thru the trees while zipping! The 4 hour tour includes a brief tutorial session and 5 courses of treetop obstacle courses combined which include zip lining. Think modern day Tarzan and Jane on tree top obstacle courses including walking on 1/2 inch cables, wooden planks, even a skateboard across cables, then climbing up and down trees to zip to the next challenge. So very cool and a must do for any adventurer. The courses increase in difficulty with the first being least challenging. There are 14 zips in the 5 courses including the longest and highest one 50 feet above the ground. It is very very safe! They give a tutorial/ training at the beginning and teach you how to ensure you're safely clipped. Plus the guide is always available and stays close to those who are nervous- and as a worst case would be able to help and drop you to the ground from the course if ever a need. Highly highly recommend with friends family and kids- even an adventurous date . Just not as a first date without telling someone where you're taking them - well maybe that could be interesting too! Tip: get the gloves. They sell them in the registration area. read more
