I knew I wanted to work with all kinds of animals, but horses held a special place in my heart. As a result of Judy & Shelly's generosity, I had the opportunity to work side by side with their horses. At first, they weren't sure what to expect, and I was ill-advised to explain the process. I have worked with many humans but never animals. A chance was taken with me, and amazing things happened. Through our work, I learned how to communicate with horses and help heal their past dramas, and Judy & Shelly's horses were able to get the help they needed. Morning Star farm is a special place. I have been to many horse farms since and I have never seen two humans care and love for their animals as much as Judy and Shelly do. They are true heroes, who have saved countless animals and their work with neurodivergent children & adults has left me speechless. Luckily the rain time shifted and we arrived 20 minutes before our appointment for 3pm to sign waivers. We took pics with the horses that were there and we had time to pet them. I pet mouse the entire time and when we were assigned horses, my husband said i wanted mouse. I recommend not picking your own horse & just having a horse be assigned to you. The workers know the horses best. Mouse is on the slower side but I still enjoyed my time on him. They know which horse hasn't been out yet, has more energy for the ride, etc. All the horses did a great job and they're friendly. At the end of the ride, mouse turned around to look at me while I was still on him. He's so funny... I guess he wanted to see who kept talking him. On the ride we saw turkeys and deer. Horses are well trained, and unlike other trail horses, they take a wide swath through the trees and don't try to pin you. It's obvious that they take good care of their horses. Not seeing any directions or address, I called to find out the new address. The man immediately barked at me that they had moved and "he didn't have time to discuss this". When I again tried to obtain directions, I was again met with a bark. He then stated if we didn't have reservations that we couldn't go till one. The website does recommend reservations however we decided with short notice to go (no open business hours to call prior to our decision). I will not attempt to support this business again.
