Unfortunately, things became confusing after that. During my consultation, I was told I could bring in my retainers to have them adjusted to fit my new crown. However, on the day of my procedure, my bill included a new set of retainers that had never been discussed with me. During the procedure, scans were taken, but I was not informed that these scans were for new retainers--I assumed they were part of the normal process. At my follow-up appointment to place the final crown, I was given the retainers. The bottom one did not fit properly, and I was told it would be remade. I explained that I had not been wearing my retainers consistently for a couple of weeks and that my teeth had shifted, so I was not comfortable using scans taken at that time. I also shared that I was unaware retainers were being made in the first place and specifically asked to have both my upper and lower teeth rescanned once my teeth were back in proper alignment. After reaching out to the office manager, I was initially told I would need to pay half to have them remade. After some back and forth, they agreed to remake both the upper and lower retainers. I then wore my retainers consistently for about three weeks before returning for new scans. However, at that appointment, only my upper teeth were scanned, and I was told the lower retainer was already made. I explained that I had confirmed with the manager that both upper and lower retainers would be remade, and even offered to show the email. The technician declined to review it, did not contact the manager or doctor, and instead asked me to try on an older lower retainer. That retainer was molded to my previously shifted teeth and was actively moving my teeth back out of alignment. When I raised this concern, I was told the discomfort was "normal" and that the retainer was fine. I had to repeatedly explain that wearing a retainer based on a misaligned impression could undo the results of my previous orthodontic treatment. This interaction was one of the most frustrating healthcare experiences I've had. I felt unheard, dismissed, and unsupported. The technician would not escalate my concerns, review documentation, or involve anyone else in the office. I contacted the manager again to request a refund. After a long delay in communication, I was informed that I was being dismissed as a patient. I was eventually provided my scans, but it took over a month to receive my full chart records. I was ultimately refunded for the retainers. I work in healthcare and understand that mistakes can happen, but this situation reflected a lack of communication, professionalism, and accountability. There was no follow-up from the doctor, no apology, and no attempt to resolve the issue--only a dismissal as a patient. Overall, I am very disappointed in how this was handled.

I purchased it at Wal Mart, so I did not need to exchange it at World Market after all. OF COURSE WAL MART TOOK IT BACK ON EXCHANGE HAPPILY WITH NO QUESTIONS OR ISSUES - and it cost me half of what World Market wanted for the pillow!!! Word to the wise. From the minute I walked into the emergency department I was taken care of in a very kind, efficient and professional matter. It was about 7 o'clock at night when I checked in with a friendly lady (unfortunately I don't remember her name). The check in was easy and quick. After only spending a short period in the waiting area I was seen by a wonderful triage nurse (Jacquie). She asked me some questions and I was immediately taken into a room where another nurse (Mike) looked after me. The room and the hospital itself is very clean and modern. Mike took some blood, brought me warm blankets and started an IV line. Just shortly afterwards I was seen by Dr. Ryan Petersen and nurse Emma who did an exam. Both were very respectful and professional. I also had to get an ultrasound and Erin made me feel calm and took care of me ever so gently. As my husband and son were waiting in our RV just outside on the parking lot we were given a list with nearby hotels and parking facilities, which was truly thoughtful. Both my husband and son were able to come and see me for a short period of time for some much needed support. Later that night I was discharged and Cody one of the hospital administrators took my details. We had a brief yet deep conversation and I could feel that I was not just a number or patient, but a human being with physical and emotional needs. The staff at St. Charles hospital is just excellent. They do listen and they do care!! Dr. Petersen came to see me one more time before leaving the hospital and handing me my discharge papers as well as explaining what had happened and how to handle the aftercare. Even though I was relieved to leave the hospital Nurse Mike made farewell just a little harder! Mike: you are an amazing nurse and such a wonderful person with a big heart! I'm so thankful for you! I must say that I'm more than impressed with the care this hospital provides. The emergency department surely has a fantastic team and everyone is going out of their way to make patients feel comfortable, reassured and safe. I have so much appreciation, respect and gratitude for each and everyone going the extra mile! Thank you ever so much for all your sweetness, kindness, compassion, professionalism and hard work!!!

In the beginning, I had to relearn simple things like how to sit down and get up properly, using the right muscles, and even learning to be aware and able to activate the muscles had been a huge challenge. Eventually Jamie did give me more homework to do. I have reduced the percentage of fat in my body by about 5%! She helped me improve my posture and I grew by almost 1"! Jamie can help anyone achieve their fitness goals. She has seniors with back pain to body builders, and others in between who go see her and get results. She has a ton of knowledge and wisdom that you need to hear and trust. Some of her guidance will feel counter intuitive, but trust her. She can be tough and kind and will give you both when you need it. She'll also hold you accountable.
