We found this on Groupon and being that we live in the Columbus area this is probably one of the most exciting sports in the area. There are 2 locations for which one is in Sandusky, OH and the one we went to was in Landcaster, OH just south on a clean lake that was initially a stone quarry. It's next to the Lakeview RV Park. I would use the online website to contact them and set up an appointment since they aren't on the lake every day. We actually only used the Flyboard. It is much more maneuverable than the jet pack so we were told when we got there and I would totally believe it. You can even start off with some tricks your first day if you do the longer 45 min experience unless you are already that good. I tried 4 backflips my first time however this might not be a reasonable goal for some people. My wife had a blast as well and got up without any problems. I hope you all get a chance to try this. Our instructor was absolutely awesome and very passionate about this sport.

Old and with bad knees, it was a hike. An up and down hike. Kid K and Sweetie were worn out. But the views and experience are amazing. Potentially dangerous, so seriously- prepare, and watch your step and follow the signs. As with many spots and roads in the area, there are steep drops nearby. People were bringing little kids who were running around, and making me and their parents nervous. And beyond a certain point us older folks are going to have to live on our memories of it. But if you are reasonably fit get here and check it out.

It's no surprise that Hocking Hills is noted as one of the best state parks in the country. We…read moreLOVED both of the Old Man's Cave trails (short half mile loop and one mile loop). We lucked out and visited when it wasn't too packed (get there early!). I don't think I would have enjoyed it quite as much with hoards of humans in the mix. This trail is easily accessed from the Hocking Hills visitors center and offers a short half mile and one mile loops. We loaded our two year on a hiking backpack and our four year old was able to manage the trail (keep a close eye- there are lots of narrow trailways). Every bit of the trail hosted incredible views- caves, waterfalls, mossy rocks, tunnels, etc. Just thinking about makes my heart rate drop. Cannot recommend this spot enough! PS: clean family-friendly bathrooms are available in the visitors center.

My mom grew up riding and training horses and while it's been years, I thought it would be a great 60th birthday gift to go riding in Hocking Hills. After a few searches online, I found this place. The booking was easy and the owner, Jackie, was very attentive and communicative throughout the process. The weather was absolutely perfect on the day we arrived and we were part of a small group including two others, making it 4 total, which was honestly ideal. We were greeted with a warm welcome and Jackie got straight to introducing us to our paired horses. She was great at putting us each with a horse that would go well with our riding experience. I got Duke, who was a sweetheart from start to finish. He did a fabulous job and I had no problems at all. He was just as Jackie explained he would be. After getting our mini riding lesson, away we went. We rode through beautiful meadows and even through the forest with high trees, downed logs, and a ton of brush. Every single one of the horses did great. They loved to stop to eat and Jackie knew all the good spots for "cheesecake." That's what they called the horse's favorite snack. Funny, because that's my favorite too! We rode around for just over an hour after getting our lessons and it was wonderful. Everyone had a blast and I would totally go again, only for a longer ride next time. I highly recommend it!

I've spent time exploring the Hocking Hills area for over a decade now and for whatever reason, I…read moredon't remember ever visiting Cantwell Cliffs... at least until a few weeks ago. I rented a cabin in the area and specifically wanted to go somewhere I had never been before. Cantwell Cliffs is about 17 miles from Old Man's Cave so I have to assume that's why I never made the extended trip. However, this go round time was not an issue and therefore I started my day of hiking there. It had snowed the entire evening before and didn't clear up until about 11AM that morning. Once it was done for the day I decided to head out. By the looks of it, only one person had beat me there. Due to the fresh snow the foot trail was hard to follow and deep, but thankfully all the trails here are marked really well. Along with the welcome signage and map at the beginning, it's easy to follow the colored marks among the trees. I will say that coming when there is a foot of snow on the ground isn't for the inexperienced. The staircases were slick with ice and snow, harder to climb but I was happy to be getting a work out in. It was absolutely breathtaking and so peaceful. I can't believe it took me so long to visit. I can't wait to go back when it's lush with green and flowing waterfalls. If you're in the area and want to get away from the crowds, definitely add Cantwell Cliffs to your itinerary.

Lake Logan is just south of town. It's on the other side of Route 33 and down a twisting road. The…read morelake itself looks nice with clean water. It just doesn't have much going on here. There is a small older looking marina. If you're going to or coming from Hocking Hills you likely will go right past it. It's a pretty good size lake. There's a couple areas for parking. One is along Route 664 at the dam. There's a small hill to climb to get to the beach, which isn't too dirty looking. Farther up is another entrance. This is where to find the boat launching ramp. It's next to the marina. The marina sells boating supplies and snacks. It's not fantastic but it's good for this area. It doesn't get too many tourists here. Several restaurants are located between the lake and highway.
