It was about $190 for a ~1-hour flight. With a combined weight of under 350 lbs, I was able to tag along in the back seat. The views were great, but my nerves were glad to hold on to the puke bag though thankfully wasn't needed.

I had issues with billing this whole time and they are always correcting errors for over charging me. After making a complaint with the NCP, when they failed to send my money back to my loan provider after making several calls and emails he now wants me to pay an extra $4,000 for things stating I should have been charged higher and is retaliating against I sat down and told him all the things that has happened with me and the school and said I was just a "bad apple". Please avoid this school if you can and choose a different path to get your pilots license. Ground instruction is great, designed to not let you fail. You will be prepared for orals. Flight…read moreinstruction is ok. Airplane to student ratio is poor. If you weigh more than 170ish plan to be flying a DA-40/20 depending on your location. They have roughly 8-10 DA-40s total and 0-4 up at a time. Mx is slow and prioritizes cruisers. Cruiser USA is also owned by Jason Clarke, so his FLT Mx guys are routinely building sport cruisers for customers of cruiser USA. Upper MGMT is dismissive of students concerns/requests. The school relies on a student base who cannot afford flight training otherwise. They partner with funding companies that lock you into high interest loans, and in turn, get you to sign a training agreement that ensures you cannot leave if you are dissatisfied with their product down the line. They will try to convince you that their program is faster, but it's not. The timeline published on the website for their career track program is inaccurate by 6-8 months. They do not have anyone finishing private pilot in under 55 hours. Expect to take 65-85 hours for private. If you fly the DA-40, expect to get between 9-15 hours a month. You do the math. Instrument will take 4-6 months and commercial will take 2 months after that. CFI will take 4-6 months as well. Just some notes and observations from somewhere who's been there. I could say more, and happy to if people have questions. My final thought- If you can afford to pay cash, take your money elsewhere and never let anyone dictate your training timeline to you. Ultimately your career is yours and nobody will put your best interests forward except for you.

No one showed up to teach the class and now no one will get back to us about the money we had to…read morepay up front for the class!! My husband and I were scheduled to take a CPR/First Aid class through here on Saturday, a wk and a half ago. The Wednesday prior I had text the directors cell # asking if they still had openings for the class their website listed for that coming Saturday. (The directors cell # is listed on the web site along with a school # that goes to a voicemail for him). He responded immediately that there were still openings for that Saturday and told me how to register online for it. I registered and we were required to pay for the class up front through PayPal. On Saturday we show up, along with 6-7 other people, and no one showed up to teach the class. One of the other women waiting said she had just text the director the night before at 9:30 pm to confirm there were still openings if she register and he had assured her the class was still open and to go ahead and register. We all had our cell phones with and I think everyone of us called and/or text the director while we stood there to no response. We all waited a full 30 mins and then left as no one came to open the doors or teach us. It has now been a wk and a half. Neither my husband or I have heard anything from the school/director. We have both text and called the director and left multiple messages. We have been polite and friendly and still have heard nothing back. We paid for this class. There is zero excuse to ignore communications with the people who registered AND PAID for a service that failed to be provided a wk and a half later. I will update this if I ever hear anything back, but at this pt I am finding it unbelievable that this company not only failed to have their instructor show up but has also taken our money with, what appears to be, no intent of making sure we get it back or even talking to us at all about it (that is stealing!). I just keep going back to the question of what kind of director/company doesn't respond to the people they had pay for a class and then never showed up to teach? I would imagine the instructor simply didn't show, which happens, but to then choose to ignore the issue and to refuse to contact or respond to us is simply unacceptable and not the sign of an ethical company.
