This review is for Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours (AACT) exclusively. Antelope Canyon, a majestic locale, has its own Yelp page. Several weeks before visiting page, I booked a reservation with AACT online. When visiting Antelope Canyon, you are required to take a tour. Without a tour reservation (which I recommend that you book well in advance), you can't go to Antelope Canyon. Located on Navajo land, there are several different tour guide companies available. They each have different prices, different times, and slightly different tours. AACT offered the best option for my schedule. On the day of our tour, we stopped by 20 minutes early as requested. After checking in, there was a little time to check out their gift shop and go to the bathroom (portapotties only). From there, we got into our comfortable, air-conditioned van and made our way to Antelope Canyon. Our tour guide was fantastic. He was a cool guy, shared a good amount of history about Antelope Canyon, and provided a lot of photo opps to everyone on the tour (we had a group of 15 people or so). He knows all of the right angles and the correct phone set up to give you the best pictures possible inside the canyon. Which was definitely much appreciated! My only complaint, and this applies to all of the tour companies, is that the tours are quite expensive. In addition to your tour, you also have to pay a fee to go on the reservation, and then an additional fee on top of that. It's like going to a concert where you're paying all of these extra fees in addition to the main act which sucks. Given how popular Antelope Canyon has become, people will buy at the price point. I just wish it was a bit more affordable. read more

This was by far one of the best one of the best tours I have been on. Things will start on time so make sure your ready to go. Keep in mind no bags no matter what size are allowed including water backpacks. I loved that our guide Marcus played the flute during the tour and explained how music helps to keep him grounded and pays respect. He also was very down to earth and was able to assist with photos and educated the group on the history of the canyon. Learned so much about how tell the age of the rocks and what different making mean. The Navajo people have done an outstanding job maintaining history and paying respect for all of things the earth provides. Things to note : bring water and a portable fan to help stay cool. There are over 100 steps without railing to enter the lower canyon. Take your time and rest when needed. Water is very important there are coolers with water long the routes. They is alot of red sand and it gets windy so wear eye protection and mouth covers. They will be a van ride to and from the entrance. Bring cameras and videos are allowed. This is well organized and if for any reason cant make it back up they will provide a help. The guide will be in constant communication with the office amd able to call for help via radio. This is an amazing experience and worth every spent. I can't wait to bring my son someday. Thanks for sharing your land and traditions with us we are grateful. Amazing experience at Upper Antelope Canyon! Our tour guide, Jecquana or "Quana," was truly incredible and made the entire experience unforgettable. She shared fascinating insights about the canyon, Navajo history, and even local flora and fauna, weaving stories throughout the trip that made everything feel meaningful and immersive. The tour begins with about a 15-minute drive to the canyon in either a Sprinter van or large SUV. Once there, the walk through the canyon takes about an hour. The hike itself isn't long, but there are currently around seven different tour companies, so everyone pauses frequently for photos (for good reason!). The route is a one-way loop, you enter from one side, exit the other, then walk up a short trail and down some stairs around a small mountain to return to the vehicles. I suggest wearing good shoes. Helpful tips we learned from Quana: There are two main Antelope Canyons: Upper and Lower. This tour company only offers tours of the Upper Canyon, which is shaped like an "A" (narrow at the top, wider at the bottom), making it easier to walk through. The famous light beams shining straight down only occur during monsoon season (July-October). The Lower Canyon, on the other hand, is shaped like a "V" with a much narrower floor. It often requires sand to be added for footing and is more prone to flooding after rain, which can lead to cancellations. Because of this, it's important to book your tour with weather in mind, clearer skies make the colors pop so much more. Quana didn't just share this knowledge, she also helped us adjust our camera settings, gave us the best photography tips, and was kind enough to take multiple photos for us. I truly left this tour feeling inspired, excited about Navajo culture, and grateful for such an incredible guide. If you can, request Quana, she made all the difference. Photo Nate was our guide. He was amazing pointing out many things that I wouldn't have seen myself. Very friendly, efficient but did not rush us. He showed knowledge and passion for the area since he had his childhood here. I found the company adventurous antelope organized and efficient. They take the tour individuals on multiple small Air condition buses rather than one huge bus which I liked .The tour is expensive but well worth it if you can afford it. THIS is the tour company you want! We did the Upper Antelope, Owl, and Rattlesnake tour on March 21 and had the best tour guide, NATE! He shared so much information about the canyons and their history. He also gave us brilliant photo tips using our iPhones. Nate was patient, funny, and a wealth of info. We saw other tour operator vehicles in the canyons and ours was the only one that was enclosed and with AC. Total time was about 4 hours. Some light climbing and stairs. If I could give zero stars, I would. The tour guide we were assigned -- a man named Roman -- completely destroyed what was supposed to be a special birthday trip for my mom, one we had booked months in advance. From the moment we boarded the bus, his attitude was nothing short of shocking -- rude, condescending, and blatantly discriminatory. When my mom simply asked a question about the tour, he snapped back with, "Didn't you check your emails?" -- dripping with sarcasm and disgust. Moments later, he turned off the air conditioning, leaving everyone uncomfortable, and told us to "be quiet" as if we were children on a school bus. When we calmly asked if that was an actual rule, he ignored us and cranked up the radio to drown us out. It didn't stop there. Roman began threatening to turn the bus around every time someone spoke, as if he was on some kind of power trip. When we asked for his name, he smugly told us to call him "sir" and then referred to us as "your kind of people." That was the moment my stomach dropped -- the racism was not even subtle. One of our group members tried to stand up for us, and Roman insulted him, saying, "Stop acting a fool in front of your girlfriend," when in fact, that was his wife. The level of disrespect was unreal. I was the youngest in our group, and even I could tell this man despised his job and the people he was supposed to serve. We were nothing but polite, curious, and excited -- yet treated like nuisances. It's heartbreaking that we traveled so far, spent so much time planning this, only to be humiliated and mistreated within the first 10 minutes. Afterward, we decided to look up reviews -- and to no surprise, we found dozens of other complaints describing the exact same behavior. It's beyond comprehension how someone like this is still employed as a tour guide. What's worse, when my mom tried to post her honest review about the experience, it was mysteriously taken down shortly after. It's incredibly disappointing that not only does this company allow someone like Roman to represent them, but they also appear to silence the voices of paying customers who dare to speak up. For anyone thinking about booking this tour: don't. Save your money, your time, and your sanity. We did the later tour ( 3pm) as the others were sold out, everyone recommends the earlier ones but I don't feel like I missed out on anything. I would give this place 0 stars if I could! Let me share my experience: It is a rare occasion for me to write a review whether good or bad, however the experience I had with this establishment was so mind blowing to me I felt compelled to write a review. Maybe I can help people and save them the trouble of enduring what my party of 12 went through. I have been to many different places and have booked plenty of excursions/tours and NEVER have I experienced such disrespect from an individual. Now bare with me cause there is so much to be said (long post warning) We had a 2hr drive to this location , when we arrived we checked in and waited for our "tour guide" Ramon. Some of us went to use the restroom while we waited. I guess during that time "Ramon" arrived and waited on some of us to make our way to the van from the restroom- a total of 6 min he waited, granted I understand no one likes to wait around on people, however we are paying customers, worse case scenario just deduct the 6min from our tour. Anyway as those of us who went to the rest room approach the vehicle he opens the van door lets a few members of the group on the van and then shuts the door on mine and my husband's face. Initially I thought it was in a joking manner so we laughed it off and went to our seats. A friend of mine in the group asked "how long is the walk" Ramon replied: Don't you read your emails? Everyone was a little taken back but we disregard, he starts heading to the canyons and I made the statement: it's hot in here. The driver turned off the air and said "you want to complain how about no air at all." I again laughed it off, my husband (of 23yrs by the way) did not laugh it off and said" that was a bit excessive". The driver Ramon replied: don't be a wise guy and show off in front of your girlfriend. So I just make conversation w/ husband and friends to ease the tension, and he (Ramon) then tells us "to be quiet or he's going to turn the van around" I knew at that point he was in fact not joking with us and was very serious. He then stated "I know your kind". Like excuse me?! What does that even mean , the lack of professionalism and the blatant disrespect is unfathomable. At this point we are quiet cause we paid a lot of money, roughly $1500 and we didn't want to chance losing our money. We continue the drive and we laugh about the bumpy drive up and comment how it feels like a rollercoaster. He YELLED "I said be quiet, or I'll turn this thing around, this is my land" at this point it's scary, it's like a scene out of a movie. I could not believe his behavior or what I was hearing. I then asked why are there no signs that state no talking in the van if it's not allowed and if there was a list of the rules and regulations so that we are being mindful and respectful. He said "I waited 6 minutes for you guys" we apologize stay quiet and then when we are finally about to arrive he says: we are almost there this is the last chance to turn this van around are you sure you don't want to go back. At that point it was intimidating and in a threatening manner. We at that point lost all interest for the tour asked to be brought back, with no hesitation he turned the van around and kept saying I waited 6 minutes. The behavior was really odd almost as if he was intoxicated or under some influences. After we get back we of course we let the front desk know , they were really nice about refunding us but didn't seem surprised and couldn't accommodate another tour guide. I then looked up the reviews (should have done that to begin with- lesson learned) and to no surprise many others had similar experiences. That said it's clear he's protected somehow/apart of the family owned business cause he behaves as there is no consequences and what a shame they continue to allow this unhinged man to continue being employed. I understand how family business operate but this man should be employed behind the scenes and not working with people. It's clear he hates his job, or even worse hate's people - or maybe it's just "my kind". If it's one review you should take serious it's this one I urge you not to visit this establishment, there are plenty of other businesses with actual nice people. We booked this tour of the upper part of Antelope Canyon, and even though the weather wasn't cooperating our guide Jayden managed to get us some amazing and very cool pictures. He's passionate about the Canyon and eager to share his knowledge with the visitors. Make sure you book well in advance, early during the year is best to avoid the crowds and no bag is allowed (not even a tiny one), just bring a camera and a bottle of water, that's all you need. Determining what time they operate is confusing AF! - Arizona is on Mountain Standard Time (MST), but does not observe Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). - The Navajo Nation in AZ observes MDT. - Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours (Navajo) does NOT observe MDT. - Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours has a sign, "Day Light Saving" that adds tremendous confusion to many tourists. The lady taking money (manager type) and checking QR codes was very unfriendly. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but walked far ahead of the group about half way. Moreover, he didn't say a word the entire ride back. Total Jekyll and Hyde. He focused WAY TOO MUCH on taking photos: camera settings, telling people where to stand, etc. Maybe not his fault as most of the tourists were fixated on taking photos. Why can't people take a photo or two and just enjoy the experience? I wish they'd limit photography. The touristy vibe was on full blast. The 11:05 a.m. slot is by far the busiest and most expensive. We are a family of 4 visiting Page for the first time. We had an amazing experience with this tour. First off, they had clean closed vans to get to the location which gives you the off-road experience without the dust exposure. Secondly, the group sizes were small by design for focused attention. Last but not the least, our tour guide was really patient, empathetic and very knowledgeable. She had great photography skills and we were able to capture the uniqueness of every chamber of the canyon. We did not feel rushed at any point. Nathan was our guide on our 3 canyon adventure. This was a day I will not forget. I was really torn what canyons to pick but i chose the 3 canyon tour because I'd hoped to see the Owl in Owl canyon. Rattlesnake canyon was the most difficult for me .. it was very narrow and twisting. At the end we had several ladders to climb and I was worried I couldn't do that since I've had shoulder surgeries. Even my physical therapist didn't think I should try it .. but I'm glad I challenged myself. My husband had to help me a bit but it all worked out. the pics don't do the beauty of the canyons justice. This was a dream come true and it literally changed me. Antelope Canyon has been on my bucket list for years now and I finally got to check it off this week. Antelope Canyon has two different canyons that you can tour - Upper Antelope and Lower Antelope. As it is on Navajo land, you can only visit with an authorized tour company. You're asked to check in 30 minutes before the tour so that you can sign a waiver. There are porta potties at check in so make sure to use your hotel's restroom before you leave. Be aware no bags are allowed on the tour and you'll take a short ride to get to the canyon. We loved Andy. He was such a great tour guide as he was super friendly and likeable. He showed us a ton of camera tricks and took so many pictures for us. Best time! read more

We were a party of three adults. We had Irene as our guide. She did a great job leading us through the slot canyon. It was beautiful!! She pointed out interesting photo ops and she took photos of us as well. She moved us along at a reasonable pace and was protective of our party's interest by hurrying lolloygaggers from the previous group and slowing down overeager wanderers from the group behind us. We did the upper antelope Canyon tour with this company. It is a little more expensive than the lower Antelope Canyon, we booked it through an online system, the booking process was simple, and the instructions were sent out clearly to the email ID. We stayed at page Arizona, and it is a 10-minute drive from the hotel location. The drive to the area itself is beautiful, and you can see a lot of tour companies operating on both sides of the road. The tour company is easy to locate, and it has plenty of parking and have Portable Restrooms available to use. Once you reach you, go and check in at the booth and take some pictures if need be and ready for your onboarding into the van. Based on the crowd, you go into a specific van assigned for you and your family with other tourists, maybe 10 or 12. It is a 15 minute drive to the entrance of the canyon and the tour guide we had is Jake who is very knowledgeable about the canyon and very kind enough to take lot of pictures for the entire crew. The overall tour is definitely worth the money even though it is expensive, the antelope canyon is very beautiful. I will definitely visit again. read more

My family and I booked a tour of the upper canyon and this was one of the highlights of our trip to Arizona! Even with the rainy weather, we were able to get great pictures during the tour. Our guide Roman was really cool and shared interesting information about the canyon and land. As a heads up, if the weather is bad they will cancel. We had a mini panic attack because it started raining and we thought we may not make it in time (no refunds if you're already there and they have to turn back). Also, no real bathrooms, just port-a potties, so make sure you go to the bathroom before you arrive. Can't wait to go back again one day! read more

For our northern Arizona road trip, we heard such great things about Antelope Canyon, so it was definitely on our list to visit. We learned that we needed to get tickets to visit Antelope Canyon and you can only do so through a tour group. Therefore, we found Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours as it was a company that still had openings the day we planned to visit. We booked a month ahead of time, and recommend that as soon as you know when you're going to Antelope Canyon to start looking for a tour company and get tickets ASAP, especially if you plan to visit between 11am - 1:30pm, which they say is prime time for sun light. We were able to book online and the tickets were about $120 per person with tax. It's steep. I can't say it's worth the price though. I expected more for having to cough up so much dough. We received a notification that we will be on reservation land; therefore, they are on mountain time and do not recognize daylight savings time. Okay, noted. We also received a notice that we needed to be there at least 30 minutes early. So, we planned our entire drive to make our tour time on time, only to find out that we were indeed an hour early because apparently they DO recognize daylight savings time??? And we were not the only group to learn this. There were five other groups who came here an hour early because they simply followed the information of what was provided. We rushed to get here, so you can imagine how annoying that was to get contrary information. When I went to the ticket counter to address this issue, all the employee said was that we were early and to wait until our time is called and she literally slid the glass screen to avoid talking to me. Rude AF. So after waiting for an hour, we then were led on the tour, which was a better experience. Our tour guide was nice, but as we were touring the canyon, she mostly talked about how to take great photos versus explaining the history and geology of the canyon, which is what I was mostly interested in. It seemed to be more of a photo shoot experience than anything else. We were also rushed through the canyon, to make way for other groups. So, depending on what you want out of this, this may be a good or A-OK tour group for visiting Antelope Canyon. It just wasn't for me. read more

I have to admit that I was a bit worried when I first booked my Upper Antelope Canyon tour because of how old-school their website was and that reservations were non-refundable. However, I had an excellent time here at the tour. This was a slightly more premium but more expensive version compared to the Roger Ekis' tour. The tour is more expensive than their other competitor, but they offer a prime time spot to see more of the sunlight in the caves. They also gave us more time to explore the caves, as they picked us up 25 minutes before our tour time and even let us see an extra slot canyon. Our tour gide, Tiya, was excellent throughout and was great taking photos of us. The slight con is that the tour pick up spot is east of town and requires a slightly longer drive (the competitor picks up at Downtown Page which was more convenient). Excellent experience. It's more expensive but it's worth it. read more

Upper Antelope Canyon is definitely more popular than Lower Antelope Canyon. This was our first of the two to visit, so we had nothing to compare it to at the time. After a quick open air ride to the canyon, we were escorted in. There are so many tour groups, that you are ushered through like cattle...and FAST. There is no dilly-dallying here, folks. Our guide was good in getting in the photo ops that she could, but they were very rushed. Even the photo tour had to maneuver around us. I can't imagine they got that great of pictures. The upper antelope tours are where you're going to see the *sun beams*, if any. From what I read, the best chance you have seeing these are mid-day when the sun is right overhead in the middle of the summer. So being that we were here in late Fall/early Winter, we didn't see any of that. So would I do this tour again? Probably not. Am I glad I did it once? For sure. You definitely are doing yourself a disservice if you come all the way and don't do BOTH the upper and lower canyon tours. read more

Our tour of the Upper Antelope and Rattlesnake slot canyons was wonderful, and our guide (Blue Sky) did a fantastic job! He paced the group and yet managed to take the time to achieve outstanding photos for each of us. He was both informative and experienced.
