If you're looking for something fun in West Palm Beach, something different and exhilarating, I believe Aerial Trapeze is the perfect outing. I can be a bit of a drive (out West in Loxahatchee) but it's worth it. It's hard to describe in words how much fun this truly is, particularly with these unique instructors that make you feel at-home, no matter your age, shape/size, athletic ability, or fear of heights. I've seen old-and-young, fit and not-so-fit, and just about everyone we've watched has had a great time. If it's your first time, you don't need to have any experience of special ability, not that I'm aware. We've watched 8 year old children pick it up quickly. Here's a quick preview of what to expect: For the first 20 minutes or so, they'll give you a tutorial and work with everyone in a group. Typically there will be roughly 10 people involved. Next they'll have people line-up to head up the ladder and try the trapeze. They have safety harnesses and there does not appear to be any serious risk. Yet your brain will tell you that you're not in a harness, while your heart beats in exhilaration. In fact, every time I've visited trapeze, I've completely forgot that I'm harnessed and adrenaline is in high-gear. After three attempts to get the basics down, they'll allow you to try a catch. This is where you let go of one bar and you are caught by an instructor swinging on another bar. After each session, you'll fall to the net, doing a flip that will come natural. Here again, they counterweight the harness so that you aren't risking your life. Once you finish, you'll watch the others in your group. About ten minutes later it will be time for you to go again. By the time it's over you'll feel exhilarated. And if you've never done it before .. The next day your muscles will let you know that you've moved parts of your body in a way they've never moved before! The price is about $50 per person and the experience lasts about two-plus hours total. One final tip: Before you arrive, take a look at their website to get a list of tips/FAQ's. This was without a doubt one of the top life experiences for our five-year-old. I would put this at the top of ANY list of Things to Do in Palm Beach County for adults or kids. The team at Aerial Trapeze Academy is spectacular. They were so sweet to our daughter and incredibly talented, both as trapeze artists and as teachers. (Thank you! Thank you! THANK YOU!!!!!) I can't say enough great things about this experience. Words can't do it justice. It was absolutely breathtaking to witness. What a great out of the box adventure to do with your child (or even solo). The staff were unbelievable, both in regards to safety as well as teaching. There were ten of us and we all got to "fly" a bunch of times and even advance to a "catch" where you come off the bar and get caught by an expert. Excellent trapeze class! The instructors take their time to ensure you feel comfortable and confident as you progress. There were young and old in the class, different shapes and sizes, and all were able to accomplish what the goal was for the class. Great atmosphere. It sits on the large side yard of a private home. My only complaint is that I wish it were more centrally located near a highway. But that hasn't stopped me from making my way out there so far. read more

This was a very strange experience for me. While the activity was fun, the day was blemished by the rudeness of one of the female instructors (both on the phone and during the lesson) and the one pulling on the safety ropes and catching at the end of the class smelled like marijuana. Everything was fine but I felt uneasy throughout the entire class. read more

My mom bought this as a gift for our family. The instructors were not supportive of 2 family members that were fearful of heights. They were making nasty comments and rolling their eyes at them. Jennifer went as far as to tell my sister that she is a failure and will never face her fear of heights. We were very disappointed by the unprofessional owners and our experience. read more

This is the place for a great, unique, fun adventure. We watched our 5 yr old granddaughter and her momma take a flying trapeze class and were highly impressed. To watch the care they had for our tiny granddaughter meant the world to us. They helped her stay calm and keep her safe on top of the platform. She enjoyed her first swing so much that when she ran to us afterward she asked if she could do it again! And she did it three more times. Each time the staff was kind and caring. The site itself may seem like a bit of a drive from the coastal hubbub, but was so much nicer than where I did my trapeze school. We were even greeted by the young woman from atop the platform when we arrived and told where we could sit to watch. Don't hesitate! read more
