Here's an overdue review for Aeriform. I trained regularly with Onyx, Lauren, Will, and Kris when I lived in LA for a year and absolutely loved their classes, which included pole, hoop, and stretch. The manager, Lea, is very accommodating and genuinely supportive of the community, unlike some other pole studios in LA that view clients as mere cash flow. While it's a small studio and the poles are a bit on the older side, the classes aren't overly crowded, so you'll enjoy a semi-private training experience in some of them. read more

First, parking can be challenging because it is a street parking. But it well worth the experience. I have signed up for a beginners class. Jane was very professional, kind and being patient with all her students. There were four students in this class (it varies). We started out with a warm up exercise and had meaningful lessons and cool down exercise. I was excited and nervous at the same time. She demonstrated first and assisted everyone since we were at the different levels. One thing I forgot and it is a must? I forgot to bring my water. But everything worked out fine and no injuries. I gained the utmost respect for aerial performers! You watch them and think it's cool + beautiful but the skills they have to do what they do is so respectable. Took an All Level aerial yoga class. Didn't know what to expect but always wanted to try it so I was excited + nervous. We started out using the hammock in minimal ways incorporating with yoga which helped me get a better stretch than doing it without. Then we went inside the hammock and did aerial yoga and was the best time I head. It's very challenging but got the best stretch in a looooong time. Roseanne was such a Great instructor she gives you attention when needed and explains a very simple/clearly and was easy to follow through. She made My first experience a great one!! I first discovered this lovely little studio in August of last year, and I was so happy to find another chill studio that I can call my pole home. Colleen is a terrific instructor and aerial artist and a very nice person in general. Lauren Avon also teaches here and she's great. I recommend both instructors for anyone wanting to learn aerial silks. The studio has pole and aerial, and has four poles in the pole room. Its street parking so you have to walk a little ways if you come during rush hour. Yes parking is bad but that's not really the studios fault so you can't complain and I don't think writing a 1 Star review because of parking is justified. A couple times open pole has been cancelled but I was always informed ahead of time and have been compensated and or my booking was moved to another day. Have you ever gazed longingly at aerial acts during Cirque du Soleil and dreamed of running away with the circus? Have you wanted the graceful bodies of the acrobats, the fearlessness of "dancing" on silks, rings, hammocks? Well, now you can. Okay, maybe it is a long path until you can join the circus but you can begin your training at Aeriform Arts while also getting a workout! What exactly is Aeriform Arts? It is a studio combining lessons/classes in the aerial arts which also serves as a sort of fitness alternative. I haven't yet taken classes at Aeriform but desperately want to so I attended an open house in which the students were each performing a routine to show their progress. Call it a recital, if you will. Therefore, I can only review the event and instructors I spoke to but will place another review once I attend classes. I was a bit weary upon arrival to Aeriform as it is located in a sketchy neighborhood (to say the least), next door to a weed clinic, and doesn't have a large sign. The open house wasn't even promoted outdoors (no chalk sign or balloons or whatever). However, stepping inside was like like walking into an artist's studio. Although Aeriform is tiny in size, the air reeks of creativity in the best way possible. It is basically a one-room studio with mirrors, poles for pole dancing, and ceiling hooks for silks, hammocks, and lyra (rings). The event consisted of a refreshment area (cupcakes, strawberries, wine, samples of nutrition bars, cookies, and sparkling water) along with raffles and product sales tables. Students showed off their skills in routines on each apparatus set to music from a live DJ. It was almost like a private circus show at a gallery in terms of the vibe. There is no way one can watch and NOT want to participate! Everyone, in terms of audience and instructors, were kind, informative, and very friendly. Aeriform offers classes in silks, aerial yoga (yoga using the hammocks and silks), pole, aerial cirque, etc. These are co-ed and are in the evening hours which is great for those who work 9-5. You can easily sign-up online for a class for up to 2 hours before the class starts. The great thing is that you can attend one class for $20 to see if you like it and then select a package, if you please. The instructors suggested trying the "Aerial Cirque" class to see which apparatus one is comfortable with (as it uses them all). Prices are great (cheaper than a gym!) and range from $20/class up to $200 for select packages. Aeriform also regularly runs great promos. Plus, if you are seriously attending classes, you can also attend a workshop to heighten your skills in an area which needs focus. Another area I think is super cute? Aeriform does private event either one-on-one for parties which include cupcakes, sparkling cider, and photos! What a great idea for a birthday or bridal shower or whatever! Aeriform Arts may be THE coolest class/workout in LA. I am dying to actually take a class. If they are as fun as the event, then I will be a happy future-circus star! Look out for me! This review only pertains to the Lyra classes. I took Lyra classes at Aeriform Arts for months and this place is okay but not really somewhere you would want to go to advance. It is very good for beginners or people looking to take an intro class. However, I bought a class package and didn't really feel like I was getting my money's worth. Leigh is a great instructor and I really enjoyed taking classes with her, but she wasn't there regularly. We had tons of subs. All the subs spent 30 minutes (half the class time) warming us up. Then we only had 30 minutes left to learn some tricks. Classes were over crowded (there were 6 students plus the instructor) so after 30 minutes of warm up, everyone only got 2-3 turns on the hoop since there was only one. We were literally only learning one trick per class unless Leigh was teaching (she only spends 15 minutes on warm up time and gives you a few moves to try). Classes were flooded with groupons/living social people. I wouldn't necessarily mind this, but again the classes were over crowded and everyone was learning the beginner basics which had to be explained and demonstrated each time. So I was basically the only person in the class every week given something a bit more challenging to do. Again, I wouldn't have minded so much but we were literally only getting 2-3 turns on the hoop and there was only one unless Erin was subbing (she would bring her own hoop from home since classes were over crowded). The ceiling is standard height. The hoop was pretty high up in the ceiling which made it difficult to do top of the hoop stuff. This isn't really a aerial cirque school so if you want to learn advanced moves, this won't be the place for you. To improve classes, I think Aeriform Arts should: -Limit warm up time to 15 minutes only OR extend classes to be 1.5 hrs to allow for the 30 minute warm up OR require students to warm up on their own time before class starts. Too much class time is wasted on warm up. -Cap the class at 3 people if it's only going to be an hour OR have 2 hoops OR extend classes to be 1.5 hrs. I tried to love this place but the bottom line is that I didn't feel I was getting my money's worth and didn't see a point in continuing classes here. read more

Newly opened studio. Attended my first class today, Aerial Fit, and absolutely enjoyed myself. It's a great course for cross training in different aerial arts and is also great for any curious person to get their feet wet if they're not sure what type if aerial activity they'd like to try at first. The class is separated into different stations: pole, silks, lyra, barre and hammock. We started with a light yoga-based warm-up. After splitting into two groups, we did pull-ups on the pole (upper body training), climbing on the silks (more upper body), inverts (abs) and a basic knee-hang on the lyra. Then, we moved to a balance beam and practiced balance training and finally stretched out and did poses on the hammock. My class had 5 women and two men. The space isn't too large, but it has space for 6 permanent poles towards the back of the room while still having enough floor space in front of them. One wall is mirrored which is great for dancing and checking your form. They have two long bars across the ceiling for hanging hammocks/silks/lyra apparatuses. It looks like they can accommodate a good sized class. According to their website, they have pilates and yoga classes. They also offer burlesque, pole and will offer lyra in the future. Many of the work-out classes are co-ed which is awesome since none of the other pole studios in the area cater to men. Well lit, 1 bathroom, no private parking, but does have ample street parking. Not too hard to find, either. 4 stars because it does feel like they're getting the hang of having the new business. It was the instructor's first class and wasn't very assertive --occasional pauses would be taken to try to figure out how to direct the class. (Where to go next? Checking notes? Humming and hawing.. etc.) In the end, it was a successful class, but more assertive and confident direction could have saved us time to do more activities. read more

I am a fan of aeriform arts! Parking is free on the street right in front of the studio and the staff very friendly. The class size is for a maximum of 8 students giving everyone their own station and most importantly personal space. I have taken the Aerial Yoga class on weekends with both Roseanne on Saturday's and Jane on Sundays both are great but I would recommend Roseanne for beginners because she really explains how to get in and out of positions comfortably, In Jane's class I felt the fabric really uncomfortable making some of the moves a bit painful but the class was still fun and Jane's class has more relaxing music. I still have other classes to try but they offer Aerial Yoga, Hammock, pole ,lyra, and trapeze so you're sure to find something you love at this little studio and never get bored with your workout. The only bad thing for me is that the don't have a.m classes on the weekdays and they have their own mats which you can use although I would recommend bringing our own because even though they are sanitized after every class they smell a bit like corn chips (feet) :-/ read more

I've been to many aerial studios in LA but Aeriform arts has my heart. Not only is the new space better than before but the people here are just the best! This studio has the friendliest students and teachers. I just LOVE Colleen, Jane Osborne and everyone I've met here. They will cheer and clap when you finally nail that scary drop you've been trying so hard to set up. And cheer you up when you're attempts don't work out. Everyone here is just incredible. Also, this is the only place where they encourage you to put together all the pieces you've learned into a performance sequence at the end of class. So fun! They have a variety of classes, pole, buti yoga, aerial yoga, hammock, lyra, cirque, ballet and silks. I'm so glad I stumbled across this studio. I was so shy coming in my first time, but this studio has really helped me come out of my shell a bit. Classes here are literally my therapy. Love! Love! Love! I got really into Aerial Hoops via class pass and I've been going to all the studios around LA. The classes at Aeriform Arts are definitely one of my favorites. It's my go to place to learn new tricks. The Thursday night Intermediate class with Amanda are always challenging but she'll help you walk through all the steps. As long as you stick with it, you can find something to work on. The Saturday Multi-level class with Tamysen is the class I usually take my active friends to. She has the hardest warmup in any Aerial class I've ever taken and she always teaches interesting tricks. read more

This review is for Sunday Aerial Yoga with Jane. I found this place through a Living Social deal and this was my first class. It was cute and clean, and our class was not too crowded. Jane was a pretty good instructor and explained and modeled all of the poses. I appreciated that she would tell us what to watch for or be aware of before starting a pose instead of during it. I am giving two (2) different ratings for two (2) different classes. I give four stars for the beginner LYRA class I took with Leigh. She was a great instructor, worked with me as it was my first time and the class was small. Everyone was very supportive of each other and very patient since it seems like the only put one hoop up for us all to take turns. This class was very challenging but also tons of fun. I give four stars to the beginner SILK class I took with Jane only going off of her teaching skills. She is VERY talented and super sweet. As for the class itself, I give it only two stars because there was TOO MANY PEOPLE in the class. It was about 8 or 9 people. And what made it worse, for me, was that not all were beginners. There were truly only 4 people, including myself, that was a beginner. The rest have been doing it for a long time, or seemed like it. It was nice to see them practice but I didn't pay all this money to watch others with a higher skill practice. I payed to be in a beginner class and learn with other beginners. If I wanted to pay to watch people do this I would pay for an actual Cirque show where I can sit down comfortably in a theatre and eat snacks. So with that said, it not only took time away from the real beginners to have Jane's attention as we learn but it was just too crowded. They offer different levels of these classes so I am unsure why they don't attend those classes. It could just be the timing that fits their schedule. But keep in mind they do have 'open' classes where you can work freely doing different things. I would hope that the owner realizes that this is an issue as I have read others complaining about this same thing. They should make sure their beginner classes are ONLY for beginners and LIMIT the amount of people to 4-5 tops. If they are not willing to do this, to me it only means they 'might' be money hungry and not really focused on what the student truly needs. I am going to take my second Lyra class with Leigh again to see how it goes and if its the same crowd-fest like Jane's class, I will have to look into other places that honestly caters directly to what the class describes. As mentioned the space is super small but if they allow the right about of people to take classes, its not bad. Parking can suck but you should arrive at least 20min early to be able to find a spot. read more

I got a LivingSocial deal, 3 classes for $25. I've never taken any aerial classes so I was very excited about taking these classes. Here's what I took... Aerial Hammock: (1 hour class) Took the class with Jane, honestly this class was difficult for me. We learned different movements & poses, some were more difficult than others. I had a hard time learning the poses & felt the class went by fast, we would learn a pose then go on to the next. It was hard to keep up. I felt the instructor didn't really explain the movements/poses, she kind of assumed you knew what to do. Being new this it was very difficult to learn, especially since you're using so much of your upper body. Silk: (1 hour & 30 minute class) Jane Osborn was the instructor for this class (different than Jane from my Aerial Hammock class) Honestly, after my Aerial Hammock experience I wasn't looking forward to this class. Jane O. was amazing though!!!!! She started off by splitting the class in half since there were so many beginners & advance students. She worked with both groups & explained each pose/movement. I was in the beginner's group and we took turns doing the poses and helping each other out. We learned multiple aerial routines & at the end if the class she had us perform it, it was great! Aerial Yoga: (1 hour class) the instructor for this class was Roseanne. She was amazing. Aerial yoga was probably my favorite class. Roseanne was not only helpful but explained each pose. I felt I got a great workout & learned different poses. I would definitely take this class again. There's only street parking. The studio is small, but everyone is friendly. Aeriform Arts 5 stars for stretch class with Jennifer!!! I purchased a living social deal for 10 stretch/yoga/pilates classes. I opted for all stretch because Iknow I don't do enough stretching when I workout. Think of it more of a yoga class with longer holds but not the yoga poses whereyou're asking yourself "am I doing this right" or "ow this hurts"it's the poses that stretch you out and keep you limber. Jennifer is great and she caters each class to what the attendees are most concerned about that week. The only drawback is I feelthis place isn'tgettingthe buzz it deserves.It's good to have small classes but the stretch class gets really small andif only a few people sign up they cancel for that night.I really like this place so I'm hoping more people start attending. Recently bought a deal online from social living for this studio. The price and location were great. It's a bit of a bummer that classes aren't offered Tuesday and Wednesdays. I attempted to call the studio a number of times prior to checking it out in person. No one ever picked up, and I never left a message. I tried the Aerial Cirque multi level class 2 weeks ago with Antonio Martinez and it was pretty intense. I had no idea what to expect and I had no idea what I was doing. We were mainly climbing high silks and spinning on rings but it was pretty hard. Antonio was really great with helping everyone and making us feel comfortable. He was very attentive and put time into teaching us individually and showing us how to do things properly. He was also good at pushing us to try are best. This was a good workout and I definitely had sore arms after the class. I think I need to do more beginner level classes and work my way up before I try this one again. But I did enjoy it and the instructor was great!!! read more

I've taken cube and lyra classes here. I felt I got solid instruction here. Substantive though long warm-up (they do these micro leg-lift things here, which I really like). Conditioning takes place in the beginning of class. Pros: - Student/cube ratio: 4/2 - Student/lyra ratio: 6/2 - Class times range from 1hr-1.25hours. - This studio had a very welcoming, community vibe for all women, and met you where you were at. I appreciate that lot. I know that a lot of studios strive for this, but I really feel this was a non-intimdating, supportive place to just play without judgment or intimidation. - Teacher was positive and spunky; she let you do what you felt comfortable with. This review is only for SATURDAY 1130A HAMMOCK w/ LEIGH: I found this place via Living Social. The neighborhood looks a little iffy that I totally drove by it the first time. There IS plenty of street parking right out front, however. As a complete beginner, never taken an aerial or hammock class before, I was really astounded at the things I could do at the end of my 1st class. Leigh was very encouraging, engaging, and helpful. She really wants everyone to give the class a go and seems to care about her students, recurring or one-timers. I don't make it to class every week, but having Leigh as an instructor really encourages me to make it to class as much as possible. The studio itself is beautiful. Beautiful silky purple hammocks, yoga mats provided which are cleaned after every use, nice clean bathroom, and a very welcoming vibe. They've made a (trying to be) regular customer out of me. My main area of focus is silks or lyra and I have to say I have learned so much since I started going here! I bounce back and forth between this studio and another, and I just cant get enough of it. He is pretty well educated in what he does, and also leaves room for the beginners but I have to admit I wouldnt be able to navigate as speedily if it werent for my previous lessons before finding this studio. I always feel pushed to my limit (in a good way) and it continues to inspire me to come back each week or whenever I can! The owner is also really cool and warm :) my reason for not giving the last star is because I would love to see more space. Leah got back to me quickly and was was friendly and extremely helpful in trying to coordinate a last minute party for my daughter's 16th Birthday. I love Aeriform Arts. Friendly people, fun classes, and free street parking (no meters) is a big plus. Aerial Cirque is my favorite class! It covers silks, lyra, and hammock, by the time I'm feeling tired of one apparatus it's time to move on to the next one. this is a review of a pole dancing class with Leigh. we came here with a friend. let me tell you that just the warm up made us sweat. the walking plank is oh so challenging. but man this was totally worth it. after few of the warm up exercises we didn't move straight to poles (as in so many other studios) instead we trained on the floor doing rollovers that can be added to the pole dance itself...well when you're a bit more experienced. after that we did move to the poles. most of the class was way ahead of us in terms of proficiency. but Leigh was great at giving different exercises to all of us depending on our abilities. we as beginners totally didn't feel left out. and seeing classmates who are so far ahead of you in the same room with you really motivates you to work harder. it was a great class. just the fact that 2 days passed and I'm still sore all over my body is a good proof to that. read more

I love anything aerial and Aeriform did not disappoint. I took 3 classes here through Living Social and really enjoyed them. I got to try aerial yoga and aerial hammock and really liked both classes. I have also gotten to sample the Buti class which is a tough workout! The teachers are pretty good and explain things well. I've been taking classes at Aeriform Arts for several years now and I can honestly say it's my second home. All of the instructors are talented performers and teachers, and the students are all there to support each other. Since coming back from Covid Closure I've taken Bellydance and Hammock with Mithra, and Lyra with Lauren. They're both great at teaching multi-level classes, with some true beginners and some more experienced students, making sure to give options so that students are challenged but not overwhelmed or frustrated. Lauren Avon in particular has been helping me overcome some bad habits I had developed pre-pandemic, and breakthrough some mental blocks that were keeping me from advancing. The studio as a whole was conceived as a place to create a community of people who love aerial and circus arts, on every level, and a place where people of all ages, shapes, and sizes can explore a performing art in a safe and supportive environment. I know that every aerial studio in town has some version of that on their website, but at Aeriform it's actually true. I found Aeriform Arts through the living social deal, and I love it. I wish their classes weren't so expensive because I would totally take more if I could afford it! I took 2 Lyra and one Aerial Hammock class through the deal, and all three were with Leigh. It was my first time doing anything like this, and I found it very challenging. Leigh was very understanding and supportive; she walked me through each move so I could do it safely, and helped me when I needed it. The classes are small, so you are able to get a lot of attention and really master the moves. Just a warning for those who have yet to try - you will probably be sore for a couple days, and will also likely have at least a couple bruises. Personally, I find it totally worth it, but if you don't want to be bruised up, then this isn't the activity for you. read more

This place is located a little north of Burbank on Lankershim. The neighborhood is a little bleak but the studio is hopefully a sign that things are looking up. On the bright side, there's always ample street parking.The people who run this place are really nice, and chill. First of all let me say that I love boutique exercise studios, so that means its a little pricy but very cute, and has a lot of cool classes you won't find at the megagym. I have been here mainly to do the Tuesday night Buti class which is never full. (Buti is a fun yoga/tribal dance exercise) This is just a cool studio that offers classes like aerial yoga, silks, pole etc. I personally need cool classes to get excited about working out, so this place definitely fits the bill. Buti is affordable at around 13 bucks a class, but the other classes are around $25. Nobody ever said that becoming a circus performer was going to be cheap. read more

Writing this review SOLELY on my MULTIPLE experiences at this studio. let me start off by saying street parking in HOLLYWOOD IS TERRIBLE. secondly they are very unprofessional at this studio. I booked an open pole session and my flight was delayed meaning I would miss my open pole session.
