Not sure why all the hate! Recruiting companies are revolving doors so try not to get too attached to any single person or job. If you do well, they usually extend your contract or hire you on as a permanent employee, but you have to be hungry and represent yourself in the best light possible. My experience with Aerotek has been a positive one thus far. My recruiter, Manar, was responsive and provided guidance throughout the whole process from resumes to interviews. Reaching the end of my contracting position, the admin staff/receptionists were still kind and helpful. It was highly likely that my birthdate was entered incorrectly during the on boarding process so I was unable to access my account for my W2. Micayla was able to help me make the changes right then and there. Aerotek is definitely helps facilitate the process for entry-level experienced workers. I would view Aerotek as a stepping stone or a tasting bar for those who still need to explore their career possibilities. read more

This agency is truly sucky, well the recruiters who have contacted me are anyway. Here's my experience... Last year, I was offered a potential position over the phone, and then asked to come in to interview in person. I asked many questions before even excepting the interview; about the pay about the hours etc. I arrived with my friend who drove me there, and the pay rate and hours to completely different. Making me angry about wasting my time and my friends time. I recently received a call from the agency about another position. The woman recruiter; Jane Beery-Beesley was extremely rude talking to me about it. It was like I was doing her a favor. I got jerked around and did hours of forms and physical exams for this position only to end up jobless and wasting 2 weeks preparing for a position that never happened. I dealt with Aerotek for years. When I lived in Colorado, I had two placements with them. My recruiter's name was Aimee. She was nice enough, but seriously hard to get a hold of. She rarely called me back, and when I did talk to her, she was super abrupt on the phone. I always felt like a burden. It was over a year before I realized that that's now how your experience with your recruiter should be. I tried to get other jobs, because I was extremely unhappy at my first one, but nothing came of it. After my second placement ended, I got a retail job, because I had absolutely no confidence that she would find another placement for me. When I moved back to California, I met with literally every staffing agency on the Peninsula and nothing came of it. With Aerotek, though, it wasn't just one meeting. I applied for probably 15 jobs through them and was passed on to at least 8 recruiters. After that first meeting or phone conversation, I would never hear from them again. They clearly had absolutely no interest in working with me, and I have absolutely no idea why. They also were seriously horrible at ever checking communication. I would have the same conversation with different recruiters every time - that I used to work for them, that I had previously applied for jobs, that I had previously spoken with Eric, or Sandra, or God knows who it was. They were always surprised to hear this. I'm really glad that my days of dealing with staffing agencies are over. I'm a patient person and I'm willing to give everyone a second or third chance, but I can't even describe how angry and over Aerotek I was. Rude, unprofessional and likes to mistreat you. A long time ago I got a message on LinkedIn from a bloke that they want to interview me for a quality assurance job. After arriving at the interview I didn't feel comfortable talking with the person because he had no respect for my major, background and lack of experience. Excuse me but I am a marketing major who is a recent graduate, not some jerk who wants to working a minimum wage job. You should be respectful of others, not make them angry. Don't ever go here if they message you on LinkedIn because number one this place is a waste of gas and number two they only interview you so they can get paid.If you got less than 5 years of work experience they will mistreat you. I left with nothing but tears in my eyes because of the rudeness my interviewer has. Just because of them, I went over to Adecco instead. Also if you want to work here, don't even try because the turnover rate at Aerotek is really high. I worked with Chris Musni at Aerotek. As a recruiter Chris was polite, kind, and genuinely kept your mutual interest in mind while pitching you to companies. I've worked with recruitment and staffing agencies before. The relationship can often feel very 'extractive'; as they are usually protecting their own or the client's interests first and foremost. What I notice with Chris at least, is that he tried to keep my mutual interest in mind when presenting me these opportunities. Granted, these are contracting roles, which don't include a whole lot of benefits as full-time positions do. Initially, it was great, they contacted me about coming into the office for a pre-screening interview where they assessed my qualifications and personality. And changed my resume, btw. Great. Here's the thing. I live in San Francisco. They have an office in South San Francisco. Why I was asked to drive out to their Alameda office to meet with someone is beyond me. But heck, if it was gonna get me a job, I'll do it. Yeah... right. Now. Fast forward about eight months. I get a call from someone at the South San Francisco office regarding a potential job that I'd be qualified for. Great. I've just been waiting too long. Get to Aerotek, they tell me about a position and the description of the position. Sounds great. Sounds like something that I'd like to do. They got me an interview, I interviewed, and I got the job. Awesome. I'm employed. All the details regarding salary and contract terms were correct. Unfortunately, when I started working there, it wasn't all I expected. Thanks, but no thanks, Aerotek. During my time with the company I was contracted with through Aerotek, I had barely any updates from my recruiter about the status of my employment. At least, a two weeks notice of when my contract would end would've been nice. Let me just say that, they weren't very good with keeping their contractors in the loop and knowing anything about the company that was employing their services. WTF?! Finally, the company that I was contracted with set up a meeting with the team that I was working with. Lizzy Dawson and some of her colleagues came in and announced that our contracts were over. They explained that they have more opportunities and to contact them about those opportunities. Fortunately, I had something lined up already. I had a good experience with Aerotek until I found another job. In the beginning the rep Matt kept in contact with me when I was in transition up to the bay area. When I was finally ready, a job was found for me pretty quick. While I was working for my first week, I received a call about a much better job offer with benefits, better pay and a better location. Another benefit was it was a full-time position and not a contractual thing like with Aerotek. Of course I took it and I informed everyone right away that I was leaving. Everything went quite nice until I received a phone call from Matt on my way home. To keep it brief, I'll say he was pretty pissed and blowing steam at me. I guess he was upset because he thought I was sneaking around applying at other jobs behind Aerotek's back? Um, no. First of all I had informed him very early on that Aerotek was just a backup for me if everything else fell through. He needs to understand that's the type of business a contracting company has to go through. Anyone in their right mind would take a better offer if it's better pay, benefits and not a contract. Fast forward a few months, and I was completely bored in a contractor position that didn't challenge me. The culture did not value professional development, and there were some strange dynamics/politics going on. Serendipitously, Angela called me to follow up around this time, so I listened. She had an opportunity at a company that she thought I could be a good fit for, so we met up over lunch to chat. She asked questions about my experience and what I was looking for in my next position, and she got a feel for my personality so she could assess whether it would mesh with the company. Things moved very smoothly and quickly after that. We met to chat on a Tuesday, I had a phone screen with the hiring manager that Friday, I had an on-site interview with the team the very next Friday, and I had an offer by Monday - all within 2 weeks! The speed at which everything happened is probably atypical, but I think it illustrates how hard and well Angela works to get things done. I was first recruited by this company nearly two years ago after one of their recruiters found my resume on line. I was by no means someone fresh out of HS or who had no prior work experience and had managed to land many interview on my own prior to the recession. A person by the name of "Vashti" had contacted me and said she would be working to get me interviews and did correspond often with me in the first few months. Since then, I've only been contacted by the individual a few times regarding job interviews and only managed to land one actual interview and contract position that only lasted a month. After getting good reviews for my performance with the company I was temping for, they said they would do everything they can to find me another position. Nearly 9 months have gone by and not only was I not getting any calls about jobs but after not hearing from the recruiter for a while I called her up and asked why no one had followed up with me in a while. Her response was that she no longer worked in that department (even though she didn't bother to mention this to me until I called) and that she would hand me over to another associate. This other associate turned out to be three other people who all called me to tell me they'd be working with me from now on and none of which knew what they other was saying/doing or even that I had been contacted by numerous people. So finally I stuck with one person "Ross" and he told me he'd work hard to find me something. I got a call a few days later about another potential banking position and that he would call me back with details and interview dates. A week went by and no call/email or anything. I then decided to follow up myself, first with an email, after no response for a week, I called the following week and left a message, after that I called another week later and again no response back. I finally got fed up today and called my original recruiter who casually tells me that he no longer works there. I mean, how on earth can you not pass this information along to me and notify me knowing he was given as my primary contact? So I wasted three weeks of thinking I would once again be employed, yet no one, not even my original recruiter whom I thought to be very sweet and responsive in the begging, bothered to notify me that he no longer worked there. What I find even more unprofessional is that Ross himself did not contact me upon learning he was no longer going to be working there or at least getting someone else to contact me and connecting me to a replacement. I'm so angry because one of the numbers I had was said to be his "cell" phone and that was kind of fishy in itself because when I called the first time there was absolutely not name recorded on the voice mail. I wanted to believe with my whole heart that this was a good company and that I could trust them to help me find a job but I feel taken advantage of and very discouraged and let down by them, especially my original recruiter who was supposed to be looking out for my best interest. Now by no means was I ever not looking for work on my own, I mean I originally spend day in and day out on Craiglist as well as going around to business myself but had no luck. I was employed again briefly up until 2 months ago and since have not been able to find work, despite having a solid resume, excellent work references, writing my own cover letters and sending out resume nearly on a daily basis. So naturally, I felt that Aerotek would at least allow my resume to reach the hiring manager and secure an interview based on their recommendation and the fact that they are a recruiting company. After this experience and countless months of being patient and trusting that they would do their best to at least get me to the interviews, I cannot say I would recommend them because they do seem incompetent and apparently do not communicate with each other or you when a situation would call for it. I'm giving them two starts only because at least my original recruiter did get me an interview and I had a great job even if only for a month. However, after that she did fail to notify me she was no longer working in the department or that the next person who took over was also no longer working at the company. All I can say is, Vash, how could you let me down that much knowing my situation and knowing that I proved myself to be a hard working and reliable temp? :( read more

I agree with most sentiments about getting staffing agencies to find you a job. Chances are you're better off doing the work on your own. I've had more contacts with prospective jobs dealing with people directly as opposed to going thru a staffing agency. Unfortunately, the recruiter I dealt with was quite frankly inexperienced in the way he went about his work. In addition, I'd hear about a job opportunity once every 6 weeks. I've had experience with staffing agencies before, having dealt with a Mr. Oshidari from Yoh Scientific. Yoh's rep was very aggressive in trying to find openings for me, which quite frankly, I wound up finding one on my own. However, his method of trying to place me in a job was more efficient and more responsible as opposed to Aerotek. Hope this helps. EDIT: Experiences like this is evidence that getting a higher degree is always best. The more unique and in demand your expertise is in (i.e. health professional field), the less you have to deal with agencies such as this. Food for thought. read more

AeroTek I was without pay for 2 months and no support from my recruiter. It was contract job in SSF. Only her telling me she was sorry and they would not give me any type of assistance until X days lapsed and she would then send me a new check. Hence why it took two months for my first paycheck. To put this into context I didn't get my paycheck until two months later and 4 paychecks lapsed from that time. I was without two months pay. This is expected of SSF, Alameda, and Arizona offices. Do yourself a favor and try Robert Half or Kelly services. You might actually get a job. It wasn't until I left these recruiters I got a FTE position. Today: I still get calls from after I have continued to request that they delete my information. Only for them to call back every 90 days and request again that they remove my information. First guy, emailed me saying I can call he directly to discuss the position... I called him back and left a voice mail in addition to emailing him. Never heard back. Another guy on the same day emailed me asking me to answer qualifying questions. I emailed him all he wants and more. Never got a response. Unprofessional. I know how this game goes. If this is the way you handle candidates, I don't know how you handle your business clients. If there would be a zero star I would have given it without a doubt. I've submitted my resume to this branch several times and I've tried to contact them many many times. I would understand that if there are just no jobs that would fit me since bay area companies always look for people with 20+ years of experience to do entry level jobs. I applied to this particular clinical research position and I thought I would get an update from the recruiter, Kristin Corella. Surprisingly she picked up and somehow she sounded like she already planned on speaking to me that day. So we agreed on a time slot for later afternoon and of course, she never called... I spent the next two days trying to chasing her down and of course she never picked up again. I finally reached her after 3 days of attempts and she acted like she never spoke to me before. When I finally got down to business and asked her about the position I applied, she plainly said I don't qualify. This infuriated me because why set up a time to talk to me, proceed to not call, proceed to MIA, have me chase you down for 3 days, and then just to tell me that I don't qualify? Seriously, that 'best staffing' banner/medal on the Aerotek website front page needs to be tore down. This company is totally not deserving. The customer sevice is totally below par. I leave my resume on Monster.com for a week and I get more emails/calls than after leaving resume on Aerotek site for over a year. Aerotek got two job offers within three months after graduation, and I am now happily employed with an entry level position at a bio tech company. Now that I have your attention, I have to say that the recruiters who have taken care of me these past months have been so helpful with my job search. They came by my college one day and one of my professors recommended me to them so I sent my resume in and was told to call after graduation. As soon as I graduated college with my B.S. in Biochemistry, I called Aerotek to let them know about my earliest availability to begin working. The two recruiters who were taking care of my resume proactively searched and kept me updated. In a span of three months, I was able to obtain 3 interviews and 2 job offers. My recruiter Ed and his assistant Christina were always helpful and answered any questions that I had. They took the effort to get to know my goals in life and sent my resume to the appropriate companies that they think would be the best fit. Before my interviews, my recruiters made sure that I was prepared by giving me sample questions and tips about how to impress employers. Ed even took time off from his day to walk me in to one of my interviews. It's the job I ended up taking. I've been working at this company for two months now, and I couldn't think of a better fit for me fresh out of college. If you want a recruiting agency that does everything it can to find you a job in today's slow economy, then Aerotek is the way to go. Okay, so I know I'm up against a pretty tough crowd here, but I need to make sure credit is given. Much like others, I was contacted by Aerotek after they found my resume on BioSpace. I was looking to get into a lab in the bay area. They quickly set me up with an interview with their hiring manager (Ed Orjalo) and I corresponded with Christina DeSouza and him following the in-person. At the interview, he went over my resume and we talked about my work experience. He then stopped the interview and said that we could talk jobs now. He had 2 companies in mind, and had a few positions for me to consider. I made my choice, and my resume was reformatted nicely and sent the following morning. Within a month, I had a phone interview scheduled. When it had to be moved the the following week, I panicked, but it was actually rescheduled and I did well. The following week they indicated that I would be invited for an in-person interview, and at week 6, I went in. The interview went well, and I was offered a job the following Monday. 7 weeks after I went in. I was also applying to other jobs constantly (2-3x/day some days), but never getting any calls or emails back. My contacts at Aerotek were personable, and I could ALWAYS reach them when I called. They operate out of the Petaluma office, and I highly recommend them. They're the reason why I have a job now. And not only is it EXACTLY where I've always wanted to work, but I'm getting paid well. Thanks Aerotek, I truly appreciate the "boost". As for tips: -Stay on top of your recruiter. I checked in sometimes twice a week to make sure I was still being worked on. I also sent an updated resume when I did an overhaul. I recommend contacting Tues or Wed as Mondays are crazy. -Look at their website for jobs and when you find them, call/email to let your recruiter know. They sometimes need to "introduce" you to the recruiter in charge. -Use the extra time to thoroughly prepare for your interview. I know biotech is a bit different because you can always brush up on technique and theory, but learn the companies. It makes a HUGE difference. Cheers! read more

The recruiters at this office were very helpful and presented me to several companies right in the South San Francisco area. I received a call out of nowhere in February about my resume and it ended up working perfect because I was in the job market. After talking on the phone the recruiter interviewed me face to face which was also a good experience, it seems like he really took the time to get to know me on a more personal level and made sure that they placed me somewhere where I would fit. He asked me several questions about my resume and some situational questions as well. He didn't promise anything, but said that if they came across something that fit my background he would let me know and told me I should continue looking for jobs on my own as well and they would serve as an additional resource. I got another call about a week later and he said that they had found a position that matched what I was looking for! I did not expect to hear back.The recruiter prepped me for the interview with the client which was set for the end of the week. A few days later the recruiter called me with an offer. I wish I would have been working with their team earlier! Overall it was a great experience and I'm still at the same job. My experience w/ them was I kept tell them certain jobs I was NOT interested and they sent me anyhow because these two were about leaving and they want to make their last bonus. I called Aerotek Monday to see if my first week's check was in the office. I was told by my recruiter that it was and that as long as showed up before 5:30pm that I could pick it up. I showed up at 5:10 only to be told they had put my check in the mail and would have to wait until it was delivered. The recruiter said I would get it Thursday at the latest. Today is Friday and still no check. I had to take time off the assignment I was placed to drive in San Francisco traffic to be told that I would have to wait 10 more days for them to fix the situation and that maybe I should borrow some money. This does not even include the multiple emails I wrote out to different recruiters without a single response. Not once did they try to track the check to see what happened to it. Not once did they check to see if maybe someone else cashed it. A week later and the best answer they could give me was to borrow money. This experience shows how little they care for their employees and how inconsiderate they really are. If you are planning to work here, I suggest you have someone to "borrow money" from ahead of time. read more

Aerotek is a greedy company with rude people working for them. They rip off their employees by paying them the care minimum. All of my coworker who contract with other companies for the same job that I do have a higher hourly rate then me. When you call Aerotek with any issues, they give you the run around or are super rude. I had a manager tell me that if I didn't like them then I can end my contract and go work elsewhere.
