I called Archer's Appliance because I had a dryer that was shutting off due to overheating. The…read moredryer was also causing a lot of vibrations even with a light load of laundry. I did some troubleshooting on my own and the overheating was likely caused by a clogged dryer vent. I cleared the vent but I was still worried about the safety of the appliance so I wanted to have a professional do some troubleshooting. I scheduled an appointment for a Monday and due to some circumstances I had to call on Friday evening after normal hours to reschedule. Melody with Archer's Appliance called back on Saturday and was very polite and helped me reschedule. When the technicians came out for the repair, they discovered they couldn't access the dyer because of a cabinet that had been built around it. The cabinet provided no clearance to actually pull out the dryer due to how it was bolted to the washing machine below it. I felt bad about wasting their time, but they recommended that I hire a carpenter to rebuild the cabinet and then they would come back. I found a carpenter to do the job, and Jeffrey (technician) came back promptly and was able to properly diagnose the dryer and make sure it was working properly. He also tightened the frame so that it didn't vibrate as much. Despite having to come back for a second visit, they didn't charge me extra and I really appreciate that. The company was very reliable and communication was excellent. I felt bad about rescheduling on short notice and requiring them to come back a second time after the carpentry work was completed, but they were very understanding. They are definitely on my preferred list of vendors!

The total for their quote on the repair was, $129.00 (Service Call), $135.00 (Labor), $129.34 (Parts). A total of $420.87. I was disgusted, went over to DSL ordered the part for $120.00 including tax and shipping it comes in tomorrow and will take me about 5 minutes to install., 3 screws and plug in. After being plugged in for 3 days, it never got cold and we were able to get it replaced by Whirlpool. After 6 months, our food began to thaw so I opened another support case. The Island Appliance Repair tech took it apart and determined that the entire refrigeration system needed to be replaced. While they were ordering the parts, I contacted Whirlpool again and they refused to replace the refrigerator because it was not a 'recurring issue'. While I have been battling with Whirlpool's "support" (which appears to be outsourced because I always have to tell them the brand of my refrigerator), Island Appliance Repair has been consistently proactive and extremely helpful. The moral of the story is this: DO NOT buy this refrigerator! But, if you have any appliance repair needs, please call Island Appliance Repair!
