The office is well-decorated and cozy with accent walls and aesthetically-pleasing black and white photos of people with ridiculously white teeth. They have complimentary fruit and drinks (orange juice, green tea, water, etc.), free yummy chapstick, and of course your obligatory floss and toothpaste. The exam/cleaning rooms all have nice, big windows, so you can look out the window or watch TV while you are having work done, your choice. Also, you have the option of dipping your hands in a paraffin wax bath for a nice hand treatment as you get your teeth done. Absolutely genius ... I mean, if you're sitting there for an extended period of time anyway, why not? Everyone I interacted with there was very pleasant, but, most importantly, honest. Dr. Alber has a very frank, here's-how-it-is personality, which I really appreciated. He told me I should consider having my wisdom teeth out in the near future, and when I admitted that I thought I would be doing that on my next visit to Peru, he encouraged me. "Heck, they can do it for a lot cheaper than I can -- and they have good dentists!" he said. I really appreciated that because he could have said something like "Well, the only way you can be SURE to have it done well is to go through me." I loved the no-upsale approach. My visit was very cheap; with insurance, it ended up being $22, but without it would have been $110 for cleaning, xrays, and checkup. I will definitely be going back.

Yesterday after a cleaning Dr. Lopez came in for a quick look and saw that my two upper front teeth…read morewere badly damaged from misaligned lower front teeth. He had a recommendation for a fix (filling the indentions made by the bottom teeth to cover the now exposed dentin. BUT he said unless we move those bottom teeth out a little so that they no longer OCCLUDE with the top front teeth...the repair would be damaged and the result could be more enamel breaking off and more crack in the teeth and even a potential of losing both of my front teeth! YIKES...His recommendation was for Invisalign on just the lower test and that the process should take about 6 months...it was a daunting revelation for me not just for the annoyance of having something in my mouth for 6 months and having to be so careful to remove them to eat and then clean my mouth and teeth of all food residue before reinstalling them and making sure to wear them for a full 22 hours a day...SHEESH! And then there's the cost. I'm 76 and living on social security so a $3800 output (DELTA DENTAL DID NOT COVER THIS!) really worried me. Today I called the office and had a wonderful conversation with Raquel (Not sure how it's spelled). She went over the costs and the possible issues I might have and assured me that SHOULD the process take 6 months they would bill me monthly until the last treatment and not require full payment up front. ALSO it would include everything...the trays...the visits, photos and even the retainer at the end of the process. She also confirmed that Dr. Lopez has done DOZENS of Invisalign cases and currently has about 40 patients WEARING Invisalign trays now and he's very experienced. Raquel spent almost 20 minutes of a very busy time of her day making sure that all my questions and concerns were addressed in the most kind and pleasant manner. Dr. Lopez if you ever read this review please accept my gratitude for hiring people like Raquel who never make your patients feel like they're a bother or like we're asking dumb questions. She's so kind and knowledgeable. I told her that I wish I could thank her mom for raising such a wonderful human being. I'm still not THRILLED at the thought of the upcoming 6 month journey through the invisalign world but it beats braces and while it's not cheap, I know I can find the way to cover the costs. There are always things I can cancel or cut back on for 6 months until the procedure is fully paid for.

I went to him…read morefor many years as an adolescent and had told him about certain concerns which he claim were nothing to worry about, a few years later those non-concerns turned into a root canal.... I have recently switched to a new dentist which was more convenient and with whom I would feel more comfortable with. I asked Dr. Bogan's office to send my most recent X-rays to my new dentist and gave them 2 months....they never made it. The new dentist took new X-rays and asked why some of my decay wasn't taken care of 6 months prior, I had no answer. They asked why silver almagam instead of resin, I had no answer. The new dentist quoted my work to fix all of the catches and new decay at just over $12,000.

He's very personable and gently honest if he thinks a treatment may be needed for things like failing fillings, of which I have an abundance. He also was the dentist that I used after receiving a dental implant on a lower molar. He was all set to cement it in place, but didn't like the gap in the fit. Food could get stuck there and be a problem. He sent it (the crown) back to the lab for a better fit and a week later, I had it fit in place beautifully. I didn't receive anesthetic for it because it was unnecessary and I didn't feel any pain. I had a filling replaced and a root covered up (he recommended a new crown but after implant surgery and the new crown, I couldn't afford it). I opted for a composite and was told that they often fail but who knows when. He wanted to offer the best dentistry possible. He also fixed a crown on my Left side molar that had failed (the gold filling developed a hole and had started to create a an uncomfortable edge on the cheek side. I was given back the old gold from the tooth in a cute treasure chest box. I haven't gone to any goldsmith's places to try to sell it yet, though. I feel kind of weird trying to sell a gold crown. His office staff is so friendly and efficient. One, his assistant whose name I fail to remember, has been there since it was owned by another dentist years ago. She's very nice. Prices are competitive with the area and parking is easy. It's at 2919 29th Street on the right side with ample parking. Oh, and as far as pain injections, he first uses a topical anesthetic and you can't feel the needle going in. He injected the anesthetic slowly which is why it seems to take forever! He told me that any pain I might feel would be the pressure of the infection fluid creating space in the gums... pressure. That if you inject slowly, it reduces the pain. I just hate having the sensation afterwards of a fat lip! After the pain injection wore off, thank God, nothing hurt.

BUT Dr. Packer's staff would not make the appointemnt for 2 MONTHS (and the ortho called it "AN EMERGENCY" ) I will not return and hope that NO ONE goes there unless you do not care for your childrens dental health. Sorry to have wasted my time and my childrens trust in someone not worth it.
