I went in at the beginning of March with chest pain and flu like symptoms, 103 degree fever, soaking through my sheets with night sweats. The doctor told me to come in again in 3 days if my symptoms didn't reside. Well, they didn't and I went in again, and they still didn't do anything. At the end of March, I was continuing to have symptoms (high fever, chest pain that was now radiating up to my shoulder). I just so happened to have set up a primary care appt for the first time which I am so thankful for! I told my primary care doctor about my symptoms and she immediately referred me to get a chest x ray. The chest X-ray came back and showed I had a lung abscess the size of a baseball!! I ended up in the hospital for four nights. Moral of the story is, I paid a lot of money at this facility and my symptoms got brushed off. I know when something is wrong with my body, and if they would have just listened to me when I first came in, maybe this issue wouldn't have gotten so out of hand! I easily made an appointment and filled out all paperwork online. I arrived early and only waited about three minutes. I was greeted politely and efficiently and was treated kindly and respectfully by everyone I came in contact with. The physician called in the appropriate medications for me to my favorite pharmacy, and by the time I arrived there, they were nearly ready. The only slight detractor from my visit was that for me the music was too loud. This is a personal thing, I just don't like loud music. Otherwise it was a very positive experience. read more

Went in with ear congestion from a prior sinus infection where hearing was slightly impaired  i.e. muffled and annoying but able to hear; left in excruciating pain in tears and unable to hear anything in either ear from the incompetence of the Medical Assistant I initially ran into smoking around the side of the building upon arrival who directed me to the front door. This is a routine procedure I've had done a half a dozen times in my adult life with zero issues at all at Urgent Care facilities and am now faced with finding an ENT or going to the ER for now near total deafness, pain and ringing in both ears. First time ever in my life I've reported the incident to the Department of Health. NO I would never recommend this facility to anyone, EVER. read more

On 06/24/2023 at roughly 3 PM I found myself in need of an urgent care facility. I walked in to AFC urgent care told them my problem with being dizzy. They checked me in took my $175 upfront. The young lady, then checked my blood pressure, took my temperature and put me in a room to wait for a doctor. The doctor came in and told me I shouldn't be here. I should be in a hospital because of my blood pressure being so high. She said there was nothing she could do except for to tell me to go to the hospital. Without examining me whatsoever, she did say that she could prescribe something for my dizziness. Other than that no other type of examination was done at all. I don't understand how they can charge $175 for absolutely nothing being done to me or any help being afforded to me. In the morning on 06/26/2023. I contacted AFC urgent care again and spoke to the manager Kamisha Scott. she says it was out of her hands. She could not refund my payment because I was seen. Yes, the doctor did come in and see me, as in look at me with her eyes, but did nothing as far as any examination or attempted treatment for my problem. read more

I visited AFC in seminole florida today 02/23/2024. Candace and the staff here today were amazing, kind and very helpful. I was struggling with a shortness of breath and they provided me with prompt service and care. They assessed the issue I was dealing with and provided me with the utmost care and gave me confidence i would be ok. . I would recommend this location to anyone that asks. Worst experience ever! The office staff is very condescending and short - not customer friendly AT ALL. They advertise free COVID testing but then charged my insurance AND charged me . Per my insurance company, they double charged me and the insurance. I called to try to understand what happened. They were unable to produce an itemized receipt. They were extremely rude and talked over me and would not allow me to ask my questions and did nothing to help the situation. The whole operation is a sham and they ended up getting 240.00 out of me when my copay should have been 50.00. Since I am unable to get an itemized receipt, I cannot submit an additional claim through my insurance to go against my out of pocket expenses. I have never been treated so poorly by health care professionals. The lack of professionalism in the office was shocking. I have a call into the corporate office but have not heard back from them yet. Additional issues around appointment setting and time waiting was ridiculous. I went online at 8AM to get an appointment. Made the appt for 1030AM. When I arrived, I was told, very rudely, that its not an appointment, it was a reservation in line. I waited an additional 2 hours before going back to get the test. They entered my insurance wrong and when I tried to get them to update it I was told "it doesn't matter what insurance you have"... If could give this place negative stars I would. My husband went to get a Covid test in December and we have been disputing an incorrect code Bill charge ever since. We have been going back-and-forth with our insurance company and the AFC team and the AFC team is not cooperating nor willing to change the code. They said we saw provider when we simply went in for a free Covid test and tried to charge us $117. Now they're threatening to send us to collections. I can't imagine how many people would just simply pay a bill and they're profiting off of incorrect billing. This place is a complete joke and scam. read more

The MD and staff are knowledgeable informative supportive and treat me with care and compassion. The staff is extremely efficient. HEALTHCARE IN AMERICA AT IT'S MOST TRAGIC. My 14 year old son broke his foot on the beach, I took him to this facility. When we arrived dozes of people standing around in and out waiting for the "free" Covid test. Well they give priority to the people with insurance (so they can bill your insurance for this Free test" or who are willing to pay $100.00 for the not "free" rapid test. They took my information and the receptionist said the nurse take this patient 1st as they have insurance while in the waiting room I noticed a man with a funny beard (sort of Amish style) walking around WITHOUT a mask. When I asked the receptionist WTF? She said he was fine as he was tested this morning. (it's now 7pm) This man put on his mask as he turned out to be the Office Manager and X-ray technician This bearded man explained to me he didn't have to wear a mask because he a tested negative for Covid YESTERDAY. SINCE I HAVE INSURANCE THE CO-PAY FOR THIS VISIT SHOULD BE $50 AS STATED ON THE CARD BUT THE BEARDED MAN INSISTED MY CO-PAY WAS $115.00 AS I HAD NOT REACHED MY DEDUCTIBLE. THIS IS COMPLETE BULLSHIT. How I will ever get a $65.00 refund from the RIDICULOUS Company is beyond me as I can't reach anyone who has the authority to do it. read more

Visited them on 3/4/2024. Booked a time in advance so I would not have to wait so long in the waiting room. Also filled out all of the paperwork at home on the phone prior to my arrival. This helped to expedite my visit. I might suggest you book something in the afternoon around 2pm since everyone rushes in on a Monday morning to any clinic. When I arrived, appx10 people were in the waiting room. I don't believe I waited more than 20 minutes and that is great for any clinic. Waited another 10 minutes in the room. Jessica, the receptionist is a very nice woman who I found to be caring and engaging. She is a keeper. I was evaluated by a P.A. and she was excellent. Professional, attentive to my issues and pushed forward with my treatment. I required around 6 prescriptions and an inhaler in the office. Everything was typed up in detail on the "discharge papers". I will select them again when needed in the future. read more

I had called before hand asking about the Rapid test, they had told me it was a finger prick.. I get there and wait 2 1/2 hours to even be seen! I watched three ppl without an appointment go ahead of me! I get back there and the nurse says to me the rapid testing is not a finger prick and that they don't take refunds!? This place took 3 vials of blood from me and told me they would get back to me in 2-3 days. 1 week later I receive no phone call so I reach out and they tell me they can't find my labs and it only was showing they tested me for strep throat. And that a nurse would be in contact with me. Couple days later nothing so I call again and they tell me they got the labs back and they were invalid because they didn't get tested. So I would have to come back in to give more blood??? read more

Booked an online appointment for covid testing for 11:25am. Said I'd get a reminder text 20 minutes before my appointment. Didn't. Another text said they'd see me at 11:25am and to check in at the front desk. A third to say I get a text 55 minutes before my appointment if there were any delays. Didn't get that text. Arrived at 11:24am to check in. It's now 1:27pm and I still have not seen anyone. And paid an outrageous $80 for the test! Should have gone to CVS or Walgreens for free and no wait! we visited this location in order to get a prescription for 2 medications (for my mother) as she did not bring enough pills to last her vacation. we were asked by several staff what were the medications ie, receptionist, a nurse (?)who weighed my mother,checked her BP (there was nothing acutely wrong with her) and finally a nurse practitioner. we gave them a pharmacy print out of the names and dosages. we were waiting to see a doctor actually as this is why we went there and have no idea if there is a doctor there at all! we werent allowed to pass the receptionist desk until we paid $100.00. we spoke with the NP and she agreed to call in a 2 week supply of the medications to Publix and then left. then some other person wearing a mask (no one identifies themselves) came in and said, "sorry, we can't give you a prescription for the heart medication as we don't have this dosage in the United states" or maybe she said Florida. We had told them why we were there up front, ie. requesting a specific medication and dosage and they agreed to see us without even checking if they could fulfill our request. we feel we were cheated /ripped off for $100. After this waste of time, we went to a Publix pharmacy and asked about the medication we needed. we were told it is not available in florida. this information was provided FREE OF CHARGE! read more

I was charged 100 for a Covid test in January. I thought maybe FL Blue wasn't going to cover starting in 2022, who knows. They also stated I had BCBS Md. I haven't lived in Maryland since 2015. I've been to this facility on more than one occasion, simply because I had no other options. The appointment scheduling is a joke. They may as well just switch to walk in only. This last time, the front desk guy said the EMR system was down, so they couldn't service appts. So instead of reaching out to the ppl who made appts, you walk in for you scheduled time and they tell you, you have to wait with all the others as a walk in, so your looking at ever bit of an hour or more wait. Better customer service would be to ask for the email/text that was received after scheduling your appointment, so that you could fit us in for the times we selected. Not have us wait as walk ins with the rest of the patients. read more

Nurse-Zilla, who clearly hates her life (and I don't blame her), refused service to everyone and scolded me for only being 5 minutes early even though I completed my registration online. Then she wants to debate the difference between an appointment and reservation (hence the quotes). Then she goes "bottom line, you aren't getting checked in"... Fantastic.
