We had a large bedroom and a large living room we wanted painted. We called Affinity Painting based on the great reviews. Someone came out to give us an estimate but the person was not professional. He wandered through the house like he was half asleep. When we showed him what we wanted painted, he made some notes on some paper. No measurements were taken at all. We thought we would get an estimate there on the spot but he said he would need to do some calculations (based on what, I don't know, he didn't take any measurements at all). Albert and Daniel were great to work with. They scraped the popcorn off the ceiling and painted walls. The ceiling looks fantastic as do the walls. Daniel and his assistant arrived promptly everyday and worked almost the entire time they were here with very short breaks; they took care to not damage anything and to clean up before they left. Their crew and project manager were extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire process, and our home looks beautiful. I rarely write reviews, but had to for this company. This company is the bomb! Got a living social deal and not surprisingly they were booked solid for a few weeks out. Later I called in to see if I could get a last min appointment if anyone cancelled. Sure enough they were able to squeeze me in (lucky for me because I have a tight deadline on moving into new house). Tony was the painter and he did an absolutely outstanding job on my two bedrooms. Accent wall on one room. Lots of cutting around built-in sheving on another. No a drop spilled or splattered. I happened to be out of town when he came, but wow what a pleasant surprise when I return to see my rooms painted to perfection. Tony worked hard, came early and stayed late until job was done. I wanted to write another review on my actual experience with Affinity Painting. Not only did they accomodate my needs like no other painting company, over-extend their excellent customer service, but they actually exceeded my expectations about the job they did. First of all, the painter was 45 minutes early to the job on both days. he patiently waited in the car till we came out to get him. The job they did was phenomenal! They were clean, efficient, hard-working, polite and considerate. My wife home-schools so when she was teaching our kids, they were very quiet and made sure they did not disturb the family. Roger, our painter, was a pro. I asked him how long he had been painting. I think he said around 25 years. You could tell he was a pro. The room looks incredible! I asked how long he had been working for Affinity, he said around 5 years and he loved it. They sure know how to choose quality painters because this guy was the bomb. There was another painter named Gilbert and he did a great job, too. They finished the job in two days. I had another bid that told me it would take a minimum of three days with two workers. The first day, Roger worked all by himself and just about finished the one room by himself. I can't say enough about how awesome this company is. I wish I had found them years ago. I am definitely going to refer all my patients, family and friends to them in the future. My wife and I were floored with the job they did and I can't say enough about them. We had a good experience with Affinity. The estimate was scheduled very quickly (next day) and the estimator arrived on time. The bid was reasonable and almost half the price of another bid we received and included the paint! (the other bid didn't). The painter (Hugo) also arrived on-time with the correct paint. He was meticulous and made sure I was happy with the work. I asked him to add a third coat on part of a section, which he did without hesitation. Very customer service oriented and polite. This was a fairly simple job -- only walls that make up about 980 sq feet and are not tall. My reason for 4 stars is that I thought they would cover the floors more than they did. Still, the painter was very careful, and it turned out to not be an issue, but things can happen. I spent ten minutes scrapping up a few tiny splatters with my thumbnail, but considering the price savings, I can't complain. I would hire them again. But I would suggest you have some old sheets handy to provide more coverage of furniture or rugs, or move them out completely. read more

I found Affinity Painting on Yelp and I'm very happy to review them here as well. I am the office manager of a small law firm in Brentwood. One of our attorneys left and his office needed to be painted before someone else could move in. I asked the building manager for a referral but that company never even called me back after I requested a quote. So, I looked on Yelp and saw the great reviews for Affinity and called them. I received excellent service starting with the phone call asking for a quote right up to the finished job. Affinity's quote was so reasonable that I didn't need to call for any others. The painter was on time and needed no supervision. He did a perfect job in a very short time. I will call Affinity again for any painting needs either in the office or at home. We hired Affinity for external painting. Overall, we are very satisfied with the results. We had Mario and Salvador working at our property. They showed up for work every day, worked well with minimum supervision, organized/cleaned the area at the end of each shift, and were courteous and respectful. Albert handled all initial communication in an efficient manner. We would definitely recommend Affinity to family and friends. The only reason why I did not give a 5-star rating is because the paint job on the entry door was not great. Instead of sanding the old paint before applying the new paint coat, it was just painted over. This resulted in some paint chipping that we will take care of. I heard this practice is common. I wish they had taken the time to use the method that yields the best result for the customer, but the quality of the rest of the work was good. read more

Affinity painted the interior of my house plus a detached guest house. I couldn't have been more pleased with both the result and my experience with them. Daniel came to my house to give me an estimate which was lower than either of the other two paint companies that gave me estimates that day. He was very pleasant and professional. The company carries full insurance, including workers' compensation coverage which was important to me. Luis and Alex were the two painters that worked on my job. They arrived early every morning before I went to work. They were considerate, pleasant to deal with, and cleaned up after themselves every day. I was impressed with the attention to detail. OK, so let me tell you about my experience with these guys. First, I was in a bind. I've been trying to sell my condo in Beverly Hills for months, and there turned out to be a leak from the latest rain (yeah, I said rain) a few weeks ago. It caused some ceiling damage and I needed the ceiling drywall fixed and all painted. To explain, my realtor called and said potential buyers wanted to inspect the place in 2 days! So, silly me, I was lagging to get the ceiling repaired. So I came to Yelp, looked up all the 5 star painters around my area, talked to Albert at Affinity. Long story short, he quoted me within hours of receiving emailed pictures of the damage, he arranged to have one of his guys, show up at 8 am the next day (he arrived 5 minutes early and called my cell), and the work was top notch. Not only did Albert quote me a high and low range due to the amount of patchwork and drying/painting that would be needed - since they were shooting to do this all in one day - but at the end the bill was close to the low range, it was well below 3 of the other quotes I received, and he even gave me a Yelp discount on top of it all! You can't beat that. So, if I need any additional painting or patch work done, whether I am in a bind or not, I wil be speed dialing Albert at Affinity. He really was on it and got it all done without blinking. that is the type of service I really appreciate. Oh, and those potential buyers ended up making an offer. Affinity painted our rental unit. Albert (owner) and the actual painter were pleasant to deal with. They worked quickly, did a good job and charged a fair price. They didn't do a "stellar" job, but it was reasonable for the price. There were many paint specks on the floor (which came off easily) and a few actual paint stains (which took more elbow grease to remove). The communication between Albert (who did the bid) and the actual painting crew was ok, but again not stellar. I needed to re-explain what was to be done. I got a LivingSocial certificate for my first paint job which was accenting two walls -- one above my fireplace and one wall on my stairwell. The wall on the stairwell is fairly large. The work was done by Jorge and he did a fabulous job. So good was he, I booked him again for an accent wall in my bedroom and again, top-notch work. Way overpriced. Will admit the painter himself was good, but they cost about twice as much as the competition. Plus they charge for everything, baseboards, light switch covers. Just ridiculous. After scheduling them to come paint at my house between 8 - 8:30 on Thursday, and spending hours prepping and moving furniture, they no-showed. Complained, they admitted fault, so I rescheduled to Saturday morning at 8:00. My hubby and I woke up early on our Saturday, and sat and waited. So disappointed that once again they no-showed. Apparently, my time is not valuable!!! I would never call them again, and will find a painter that actually shows up to paint my room. Do yourself a favor, don't bother! read more

Wasn't at all happy with the outside work. We were quoted for 2 coats plus primer. I watched them do only 1 coat and they told me that standing and passing the spray gun over the same area twice counts as 2 coats. What? Not in my mind. Also there was no primer. I called the owner and was told 'I use that paint in my own home, it has primer in it' Oh no it doesn't. I'm looking at the tin. I called the paint store to double check. Nope, no primer. Paint went straight on the bare concrete block wall which means we have white marks leaking through the mortar. Some months later I called and the boss said the stains are very common but he came out to remove them and offered to recoat the walls if necessary. The stains are now back and I'm not sure if I can face going through another round but it really doesn't look great. Our back wall which was painted by another company does not have this issue. Really wish they'd just done the job right to start off with. We have more internal work to do but obviously I an extremely reluctant to use them again. read more

After reading the Yelp reviews, I had expected a five-star experience. This is far from what I got. Although the final job was fair and at an average reasonable price, there were several major problems that prevent me from recommending Affinity Painting or wanting to ever hire them again. First of all, there was no attempt to clean up all the old paint chips scraped for prepping. It took my gardener almost an hour to clean up the mess. There were several areas that should've been patched before painting, but weren't, causing the facing to look like it had paint just slapped on over an irregular surface. The edging on several lengths of facia and molding should have been scraped or patched for a clean edge but wasn't. When I sent the check to Affinity, I enclosed a letter detailing my dissatisfaction. I waited a month for any kind of response (the time it took for them to cash the check), but they didn't seem to care enough to answer. Evidently this is a much bigger company than I supposed from the yelp reviews. The sole painter they sent to do my house evidently was from their "commercial division." Maybe they've gotten too big to care. read more

While the office staff (Ziggy) was really nice and the person sent out to do an estimate (Pablo) was very nice, we could not get this company to give us an estimate. Pablo would not leave us an estimate (or even give us a ballpark figure of what their estimate would be), but promised to send an estimate by email that evening when he returned to the office. When we did not receive the estimate that evening, we left a message on the company phone. We did not receive a call back, so I called again the next day and was told they were so busy that Pablo had not been back to the office, but he would be back that evening and give us an estimate "for sure". I asked whether the person I was speaking to wanted my name to give Pablo my message and he said "sure" but did not sound like he was even writing it down. Not surprisingly, we did not receive an estimate that second day. Today was the third day since Pablo came (technically the fourth day since it is now after midnight), and we have not received an estimate or even so much as a phone call saying "Screw you" or "We are busy but we care about our customers and will get to you" or, alternatively, "We just don't have time and should not have promised you anything, so sorry." Clearly, this is a company that has taken on more than they can handle or, alternately, doesn't give a hoot about customer service. Either way, I recommend you stay away, as there are lots of other good painting companies out there. This company clearly does not live up to its Yelp rating, read more
