Our resident cats are all spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and receive regular veterinary care. Despite taking those precautions, we came home to find our cats had died after being exposed. We now have to isolate and treat the rest of our household cats, which has been emotionally devastating and financially overwhelming. We sent Heaven Can Wait our veterinary records, diagnosis, and bill, but instead of showing concern, they questioned whether what happened was true. That response was incredibly disappointing during an already heartbreaking situation. I understand that rescuing stray kittens comes with risks, but I believe shelters and rescues need to do everything possible to screen for highly contagious diseases and be transparent about those risks before adoption. I hope they improve their protocols to help prevent other families from experiencing the same loss we did. This was a devastating experience, and I encourage anyone adopting kittens--especially those rescued from the streets--to ask detailed questions about disease screening, quarantine procedures, and what testing has been performed before bringing them home.

We found VanVets and from the very start they have been nothing but wonderful and caring. Craig is quick to respond. Dr. Canty is amazing and calm. They made my little man's last three months better. When the time came, they came and sat with us. The loved on my little man. They helped us make a plan for our younger dog. And when the moment happened, our grumpy old terrier passed peacefully and surrounded by love. Even afterwards they have been wonderful. We found VanVets online because we wanted a mobile veterinary service for our older pupp. He was declining very quickly and we wanted to be prepared if the time ever came. We filled everything out online, followed all instructions for both ourselves and our pupp, and scheduled an appointment for a vet and tech to come out for an evaluation. Shortly after submitting everything, we received a call and our appointment was scheduled for the following morning. Unfortunately, very early the next morning, we had to rush our pupp to VEG 24-Hour Emergency Vet Clinic. There was no good news. The vet doctor and techs there made our pupp comfortable for a few hours so we could bring him home. From the moment we walked in, our pupp was in excellent hands. Everyone handled him with genuine care, gentleness and compassion. What was originally supposed to be a checkup with VanVets became an in-home euthanasia. I certainly was not prepared for that, but I knew I could not allow my pupp to continue in excruciating pain. VanVets arrived with a vet and her tech -- two very soft-spoken, compassionate individuals. They calmly explained every step of the process before proceeding. At each stage, the vet respectfully asked for permission before continuing, and that level of care and humanity continued through the very end of my pupp's life. During all of this, my entire focus was on my pupp-talking to him, rubbing his face, kissing him, and making sure he knew he was forever loved and will always be missed and remembered. The vet and tech were incredibly gracious and patient. Nothing felt rushed. Everything was slow, peaceful and calm, even through my constant tears. After everything was done, they quietly stepped outside and gave us all the time we needed alone with our pupp. There was never any pressure or rush. When we were finally ready, they came back in and gently explained the next steps. VanVets had already coordinated everything with West Coast Pet Cremation & Funeral Service, and I cannot say enough about them either. They were compassionate, calm and caring during one of the most painful moments of our lives. I highly recommend all three of these compassionate businesses -- VanVets, VEG Emergency Vet Clinic and West Coast Pet Cremation & Funeral Service -- for anyone needing exceptional pet care and genuine human compassion during such difficult moments. ( which he knew this)) All this Vet said was she was low Iron and hypothyroidism..Well, apparently that means something is going on with her, and she was bleeding internally from the tumor that was in her throat.. I highly recommend finding a vet that is more thorough.. The vet I took her to recently to try and have the surgery was so concerned about her blood count and it was a 29.. I am feeling extremely guilty that I took her here and he missed the tumor..

I couldn't find anywhere that could see him almost immediately so I chose this place. They don't have a wait time for a reason. When you go in, it looks and smells old, including the waiting room it's very much like what you've seen on a movie for a psychiatric hospital in a small town. The smell isn't clean or welcoming. It's very much stuffy and they keep the air-conditioning at a really unsettling 78 to 80°. I was already in there and wanted to get my cat assistance so when I finally saw the veterinarian, it made a whole lot of sense because he looked to be in his 70s, did not care about bedside manner. Everything in the actual vet room was outdated along with his practices. It was a really weird interaction. He is not friendly. He would not answer questions regarding my cat being itchy. I asked what tests would he need? What can we do? I told him that he's not micro chipped and that he needs to get neutered both of those things, but the itchiness is the main concern. He did a swipe of his ears and said there were no mites and left the room and never came back. When I asked the veterinary assistant, what medication are they giving and is there anything that can damage long-term? What will this help with? Should we do any other test beforehand? She said no this is fine. This is what the vet recommended. They gave my cat a crazy high dose of prednisone. He was throwing up, complete mood change. I was really worried. I called them. They told me to give it more time which is terrifying that they didn't listen. They finally said that the vet is offering a different medication. I asked to speak with him. He wouldn't get on the phone. They called me back again and said this medication is a lower dose and it's a transdermal, I once again asked about possible other skin tests, long-term effects. They said everything would be fine that he could be on it for life. My cat is not fine, the vet did not speak with me. Upon speaking with other offices and opinions, there should've been other test ran before giving this medication that is extremely hard on a cat and can cause diabetes, lethargy, anxiety, racing heart and should not be taken long term. Absolutely none of this was discussed. A different treatment plan was never discussed. I don't know what they're doing at the front desk, but it was a circus trying to pay which I had cash out and then they took card and they said it had already been paid for, but then God knows what else they did with paperwork and I received this letter in the mail today. Stating services that I never received. My signature is on there because they wanted to make sure that I knew how much it would cost IF my cat did get neutered and did get a microchip both of which he did not receive that day. Not any day at that hospital. THE AUDACITY to send me a piece of mail saying I'm not welcome back with my behavior being unacceptable from someone who didn't even have the respect or professionalism to try other tests before administering a prescription that had extremely dangerous consequences that were never even discussed. I hope you're given the same patience, transparency and kindness that you've given my cat and other peoples pets when you arrive in need at the hospital.

Never had to wait more than 5 min past my appointment time (unless there's an emergency). They always remember to follow up and when you call, someone always answers the phone. I saw some negative comments about the hospital requiring seeing the dog/doing diagnostics prior to giving meds/treatment etc. I understand that there are emergency and devastating situations and you just want someone to say yes, from my experiences with them, I think what the hospital asks is still reasonable and shows a high level of professionalism and expertise, and extends from Dr. Mauro wanting to give the best and correct treatment to every animal. Anyway, if you're looking for a vet to care for your loved pups (and cats), Haven Hospital is a no brainer.

Over the years I have tried several different Vet offices in town, and most are quite underwhelming in terms of service and price. After my last couple of visits, Haven Animal Hospital has earned my trust and confidence with the care of my beloved furry family members. We just, JUST got a new ragdoll kitty and she started sneezing and had a lot of congestion within a day of arriving at her new home. After stopping by to pre-register a couple of days earlier, we brought her in for her appointment. Dr Lisa Mauro was incredibly kind and caring the entire time. She was very patient and took the time to explain everything. At no point did I feel like we were being rushed at all. I was absolutely impressed by this. She recommended some antibiotics for our new little baby girl to help clear things up. Within the first day we saw huge improvements in her condition! Now she is a hyper little demon kitty who is wearing me out with all of her energy! Two days after the appointment, the doctor cold called to follow up and see how the baby girl was doing. I was very impressed by this action. In the decades that I have lived here NO vet that I have gone to has done this. It really makes me feel like we've found our place. I'm so glad to have found this place and I will 1000% be back! 5 stars.
