We used Affordable Appliance for in-home repair of our oven. They were very prompt with an appointment and very professional and knowledgeable when they showed up. They fixed it in one visit. Their labor charge was very reasonable, and I don't think they added an up-charge to the part. Overall, very good service. You might also note that some of the other reviews are older, and, to be honest, Affordable Appliance hasn't been there as long as some the reviews. The building was Taco Bravos until ---- I don't know ---- not that many years ago. So, I suspect some of the reviews are for some other business. read more

This company is the most unprofessional company on the planet. The owner is actually comical and speaks to customers in a way that is nothing short of uneducated ignorance. There was never any mention (informed consent) of a $75 charge for an non-certified technician to walk in our door. The funny yet unbelievable fact is he demanded the $75 for what he said himself was a guess of what the problem was, he already had the part without even looking at the appliance. After we said we were never told about the $75 charge which the owner confessed to not mentioning it because they been charging that for 3 years... finishing the review we asked the service guy to leave he refused and continued to demand money from us and then we demanded that he gets off our property for attempting to strong-arm us into paying for absolutely NOTHING!! I would recommend NEVER using this dysfunctional and unprofessional company for repairs... not to totally give a horrible review they do sell decent appliances just don't call them to service appliances. read more

I just called Affordable with questions about how to diagnose a problem with my dryer. As usual, they were helpful, courteous and provided information that I am confident will save me $100s of dollars. I now have a plan for how to go home and look for the most common problem on my dryer that is causing these symptoms. In the past I have ordered parts from them and the parts have been outstanding and they gave me installation instructions. They actually encouraged me to do the repair myself instead of having them come out to my house....I needed that boost that said, "You can do it Wayne". I have had them come out to fix an appliance and they did great. Finally I have had 2 microwaves and a refrigerator at their shop for repair and the repairs were fast, high quality, and very affordable. I give these guys and ladies my highest recommendation. I realized my fridge stopped working about 9:30PM when I went to get some ice ream from the freezer! I Facebooked people asking for a recommendations and this place had all the references! I called 8:30 am., answered some questions as to what the problem was, they had the part in stock, and I had it fixed myself in less than an hour, counting the time it took to pick up the part! I have been dealing with these guys for about 15 years and they always get my appliances back on line. they can talk you thru the troubleshooting process and identify the needed parts, ship them to you...so within the week, you are fixed. Very patient on the phone too. Its amazing to deal with them vs the bigger appliance places that can only take your order. For the DIY'er in Florida any appliance repair parts place charges you the same as a "Technician" coming to your house and installing a grossly over priced one. I am talking three times as much or more for a given item. I placed an order with Affordable Appliance Services Inc by internet on the weekend and this family business double checked my part number, packaged and shipped it by Priority Mail in 24 hours at 1/3 the price. Went in needing a refrigerator. Guy said he had to rebuild one and would hold the fridge for me once it was done. Received no call and no word for months. Just called them today. Now he told me that he sold it a month ago. He said he wasn't holding it for us. First come first serve. I'm sorry but this is horrible management. I needed a fridge. He told me he was going to hold it. And then sold it to someone else. I'd rate this much much lower than one star but unfortunately I can't. I would never recommend this place. I bought a dryer from here. The first time I used it there was nothing but problems. I called to explain that I had a blanket drying for over 3hrs and it still wasn't dry. They tried to make it out like I hooked it up wrong. Proably because I'm female and we are incapable of simple things like hooking up a dryer. Anyways it gets worse. The guy had me check several things. So I did. I was told to call back if it still isn't working. 4hrs later my blanket still wasn't dry. So I called and told them to come pick it up, I want my money back. They sold me a dryer that didnt work. But of course it's up to me to bring it back. I dont have a truck. I had a friend take me to pick up the darn thing. So they agreed to come fix it a wk later. The guy that came to fix it said it had many problems that needed to be fixed. And that he couldn't believe they sold it to me like that. And he works for the company. Actually now I think he owns it. He did fix it. However, I told him after all the headache I had with it I didnt want it anymore. I'd rather goes to lowes and buy one brand new. That way I could get a 10yr warranty. I didn't tust affordable appliance. Especially since they sold it to me broken. The guy told me it was as good as new, he fixed the problem. But I didn't like the idea that if something goes wrong with it after 30days I'm screwed. The guy gave me his number and said if anything happens I'll come out and fix it free of charge. Well that's exactly what happened. 6wks later it started making this horrible screaming noise. So I texted the guy. And to no suprise I was told he could fix it but I would have to pay labor and parts. WTF are you kidding me? What a waste. I paid $300 to have a dryer for 6wks. And I couldn't even use it the first ek till they fixed it. So really 5wks. This place is nothing but a headache. read more

It is late on a Friday afternoon when it is discovered that the frig/freezer is losing temperature...I call Affordable Appliance to make a service call (only listing which had a review) ...Eric asks me to explain the problem...he gives me directions over the telephone (me being very poor at this) and it is discovered that it is a simple relay switch..I go to the shop Saturday morning...the part is purchased and they check the capacitor...all is fine when installed...I fixed the problem...big feat for me...very personable, helpful, courteous, and professional...highly recommend!....David read more
