"The best place and the only agency I would recommend to get caregivers ." Four months ago, my mom had been hospitalized due to Stroke. Then I started looking for a caregiver who would take care of her while I'm at work. A co-worker of mine recommended Affordable Caregivers. (big thanks to her!). I called and talked to the owner and he explained everything to me and got the answers I needed. They have Virtual Nurses who were very keen on choosing the caregiver to fit for my mom's condition. VN's and their Supervisors monitored the caregiver from time to time to make sure that everything is addressed. They were all very caring, empathetic, thoughtful, and always ready to help you especially in difficult times. This agency truly cares about their clients and I'm amazed with service. This place has literally been a lifesaver. You know being a caregiver of a family member is so hard. It is also very expensive to hire help. I feel blessed to be in a position to be able to care for dad at home. I want to do whatever I can to keep him here and Affordable Care makes this possible. At the same time they have the absolute best customer service who are super friendly professionals. You get a case manager to build a relationship which helps to guide and support you. I work nights shift and sleep during the day and can always reach them at odd hours. I prefer text and get quick replies. They have sent a few men CGs for different shifts who all had background checks that were sent to me via email prior to starting service. They also send you their picture, work history, education, etc and then interview them by phone if you choose. I don't because every one of them have been excellent, professional and mature. I can recommend Francisco, Angel and Matthew. So friendly, have big hearts and always going above and beyond. There was one or two others but can't remember their names, but they were great too. I honestly cannot say anything poorly towards Affordable. Again, when it is so hard to be a care giver for my father and work full-time I need to lean on anyone that will help. So my uncle passed away 3 weeks ago . he had hired the company left a 2000 deposit . Two days after he died we started getting calls to pay the balance . I paid the caregivers out of my own pocket and the agency wanted another 600 .I told them to touch base in a month after I had already paid his caregivers almost $3000 for two weeks work . that's more than double what I make in two weeks. They have not stopped calling and texting even tried to get me to pay the caregivers more money ! I have not even buried my uncle yet ! who I don't have any responsibility to pay his bills I did that because I felt bad that my uncle didn't leave instructions on how to pay or what to do if he died . Anyway it doesn't stop there they are also harassing his friend who is 80 they have never lived together or are they are not married but that does not stop them from harassing her a 80 year old woman . But today when I got the threatening text that if I don't pay the bill dated April 22 (that's 2 days after death ) or they will send it to collections. It was the last straw . so they took the $2000 deposit for March payment and some of April so they have gotten a payment my uncle who is deceased still owes $600 for the rest of April .I am completely appalled that they would threaten collections for a April bill after 3 weeks and getting a $2000 payment in April . My father has mixed dementia, which is gradually getting worse. I was referred to Affordable Caregivers by Kaiser after one of my father's ER visits. I called them, and it was the best phone call I have ever made. I was lost on how to care for my father and needed help desperately. We are very happy with this agency. My 89 year old dad requires care 24/7 and because of this agency he is able to remain safely in his own home. The agency worked with us to find the best solution for our needs. The two caregivers we have (one is five days a week and the other is two days a week) are outstanding. I cannot say enough about how good they are with my dad...very conscientious, respectful and just plain nice to be around. Regarding Brian's comments on my review of his deplorable company, here are the facts: 1) A former Affordable Caregiver employee requested and received a $10,000 pay advance from my elderly mother. The caregiver allegedly had a "medical event", never to be seen again. I was subsequently informed that she left the country long before a police report could be filed. If Brian is offering to reimburse my mother the $10,000, I will be happy to file a police report. 2) Brian called my widowed mother and left threatening phone calls after one of his employees quit his company. Using phrases like "make your life a living hell", he demanded several thousand dollars in compensation or else he would sue my mother and I. He knows that he has no valid legal basis, and I'm still waiting for the lawsuit (I won't hold my breath). My lawyer would love to discuss elder abuse in court! 3) I have spoken with several former caregivers employed by his company who have elaborated on the company's shady business practices. Zackie responds quickly via phone and email. She even provided a background check on our caregiver from three different counties: L.A. O.C. and San Bernadino. Unfortunately, my mom has been robbed by a former housekeeper before so this really gives her a piece of mind. This agency is actually a referral agency, which helps to keep the cost down. You are responsible for paying the caregiver, like with my mom every Sunday. You will also be billed by the agency separately. The caregiver's rate of pay depends on your needs.
