My old Dell XPS AIO stopped functioning. Super slow running. Photo apps couldn't bring my up photos. I was familiar with ACR's workmanship from years back when they were located off Atlantic and Southside. I was at the point of buying another AIO but I decided to give ACR a shot. It turned out to be that my SSD hard drive failed. For a reasonable fee Jake replaced the hard drive and restored the PC to optimum operating condition buying me a few more years before I replace it. Russell, the owner, did a great job transferring all my laptop data on my old HP laptop to a new laptop (MacBook Pro). He's a good communicator and got the job done in nearly half a day. I called this company and asked for a technician to come to my house and assist in connecting a second monitor and reinstate the screens on both units. A Charles Bolton came over - did not accomplish anything but advised what type of VGA adapter I would need. This adapter was ordered from Amazon, arrived the following day ( a Friday) - I asked Charles Bolton to come back and finish the job, he in turn lectured me over the phone of " how to hook up the various wires, etc" - , refused to come back to the house ( has to cook dinner for the kids) and will give it " some thought why things don't work". Saturday AM I called him back and asked him again to come and finish the job after I had paid him $ 114,- and $ 75. Both checks were promptly cashed the day Bolton left my house. On Saturday his excuse was that he " has the kids over the weekend" - I advised just bring them along and they can sit in my house and wait while you work. " My ex wife would not allow that" was the answer. In retrospect , that man had no idea how to handle the job but boldly took my money. He was to discuss with Mr. Sweet who will call me back in 5 minutes. It took hours before Russell Sweet eventually called me - I asked him to refund $ 189.- because the job was never done. What I got out of that man was comparable to " jump in the lake and get somebody else to do the job for you...". I had to hire a computer expert today that finally got everything done as needed to put me back in operation. And , of course, had to pay for his service. The company of Russell Sweet has an address on 6015 Chester Circle, another one on 9019 Atlantic Boulevard, there are two different names: Affordable Computer Repair of Jax and the statement handed to me by Charles Bolton shows : Jacksonville Computer Repair, Inc. These people pretend to do repair work, do not remedy the problem, take your money and run. I called this company to advise a problem with my monitor, the ownwer russell sweet said it sounds like a programing issue and is common. brought my coputer and he charged me a $85 flat fee and said he fixed the problem by removing maleware. I brought my computer home and found the same problem. brought it back and was then told-its your monitor. I asked for my money back since he didnt fix the problem. Mr sweet said I worked allot on your computer so no refunds. I was told the problem was fixed and Mr Sweet said "were not a monitor repair shop-Im not giving you your money back. I advised Im reporting him to the BBB and he just lost a customer for life. Mr Sweet's reply was--Good-we dont want your kind of customer here anyway and then hung up on me.
