The office in Bluff City was very helpful and made a good partial. The office is clean and very safe. No entry unless cleared as front door is always locked. I was happy with the result. I had need of a new set of dentures so I contacted Affordable Dentures and Dr Shaun O'Hearn on Tunnel Road in Asheville. I went in for my initial consultation and described what I wanted in dentures. I was able to cast the wax mold and chose the teeth and color that I wanted. I went back the following day to try the wax mold with the teeth set in place. Two weeks later, I was brought back in to pick up my dentures and have any adjustments done. If needed. To my immense surprise, no adjustments were needed at all! The fit perfectly, no slippage, no gaps and no irritation points. They do not accept dental insurance but they do give you a receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company towards your claim. I certainly would recommend Affordable Dentures on Tunnel Rd and I will not hesitate to return if and when I need another set of dentures made. read more

I came into this dental office when I first moved to Asheville. Let's just say we had some major dental work to do... first things first. I had two back teeth extracted. My front tooth was also already out so they made me a new flipper for that space. From there they put in four implants. Quite a process they had to perform. The ladies up front at this establishment were always super helpful & called me the day before I had an appointment. I even got lost & Tiina stopped what she was doing to give me directions. Marsha is always available to speak with my mom in Florida to answer any questions she has concerning my care & also in the billing department as well. All my experiences in this office have been handled in a timely manner, this office is super busy but I was treated as their top priority. The office manager named Chad is always on top of his game at this office, fully staffing as needed. Also provided extra help with my care twice when the four extractions were done, totally put my needs first this last appointment for a flipper repair, at other offices they'd have to send it away for repair. This review might be a bit lengthy, but I cannot express enough how grateful I am for finding this place.. I am coming back to finish my implants in six months. I have never been in so much pain my fractured leg and ankle did not hurt as bad as my mouth does now. I had one tooth pulled and the dentist used my cheek and jaw bone as leverage to get roots out. 3 days later I can not open my mouth and in crazy pain. Was given no antibiotics and told to take Tylenol. I will never go back there I have literally had nightmares about the way my tooth was pulled. Please save yourself some pain and pay a little extra and go to a dentist. Definitely feel like I was part of a meat market and a quick dollar. read more

Being that Affordable Denture has no other location in the Asheville area; they just might need to open a second one. For example, Mrs. Sandy has been working there for years not only is she tired but she looks exhausted; however, she still practice professionalism. On the other hand, the lady that sits on the left (front office staff) just as rude as she can be and in my opinion many complaints as she has gotten; she should have been gone with the wind. Plus, Affordable Dentures suppose to be a top notch business but when you look at the website; its not up to date; for instance, your website stated you would close today 3/23/2020 @ 4pm so when I drive there it's closed. And, I really do understand due to the Coronavirus things is changing daily but your website suppose to be in real time so please let people know on your website as well. read more

I needed extractions and a lower denture. I did my research and they were by far the cheapest. I told them what I wanted and they made an appt for the next morning at 7:30. Doctor and nurse sit me down and give me all these options, not to mention a new denture wearer plan. Money is tight so I ask can I talk it over with my Mom in the waiting room. After 5 minutes we had made a plan and went back to the receptionist. She said they were now booked for the day since I took that 5 minutes. Rescheduled. Bear in mind their whole deal is to have it all done same day. I come back the second day, they take the imprints then proceed to tell me that they are booked for the rest of the day. After telling me that it would all be done today. That's two days off of work now. She says, Don't worry, I'll schedule tomorrow for 12:30 cause that's when we get back from lunch and you'll be the first person called back. I get there at 12:25 and the waiting room is packed. I asked out loud to the whole room, "Is everyone's appt at 12:30?" A resounding yes. This is my third day off of work, no sick pay, and they call my name finally. They say there's been a problem with the lab making the dentures and it will be more like 3pm.They hadnt made the teeth yet, after 24 hours. I said that's it, I want a refund. they had done nothing but take imprints (I had my own xray). I let them have it, got my refund and am expecting some magical new bill to come in the mail. TL;DR: They overbook by way too far, they just want to upsell you on everything, they all hate their jobs cause these poor receptionists know they're really screwing people over. Take two days off, get a sleeping bag cause you're going to be there a long time. read more

I hate to leave a bad review but here's my story. When I signed up for dentures I presented a coupon from their company for 5% off. They said that comes from the home office and they don't honor that. Okay... the doctor pull my teeth and made my temps. The doc said that the bottom ones are loose and to make me another plate if needed. The tech refused to do it. She never listened to me about where the plate was hurting and for 6 months I couldn't eat a good meal. After 6 months, I got my new plates, and the bottom one is loose and cutting me. I was told that I had 6 months of free adjustments and another told me it was 100 days only. After wearing the plate for a couple of weeks I called for an adjustment. The first appointment they gave me was 3 months away, which is past the free adjustment time. The people were nice but they are going to take your money and see you as little as possible. Their chairs are for the people that pay and once they have your money they just don't care. There's no time for adjustments because the chair is used to take your cash only. Then you're just a hindrance that won't produce any revenue. Any return visits will be an effort to get you in and out of the chair ASAP so they can get another cash customer in that chair. Customer care is non-existent at this place. read more

My grandmother called numerous times to get an apt and when we got there we still had to wait 2 hours! Yes they were short staffed, but that doesn't excuse the horrible rude young girl in the front or the middle aged doctor who was so unprofessional to my grandmother! Id never recommended this establishment, My grandmother had to got back 6 times for adjustments and finally the last time she said she wanted her money back, the doctor, not the main one, I can totally see why! was so rude! I work at a doctors office and if we treated our patients that way we wouldn't have any and we would get fired! They have poor attitudes and don't care, please think twice before you go!! read more

My fiancé went in to have a tooth extracted. The first appointment the tooth was to infected, she was given and antibiotic and sent home and they rescheduled her extraction for a week later. She went in for her second appointment and they extracted her tooth which was still infected. They gave her a fairly strong narcotic and sent her home. The pain medication was to strong for her. We flushed it and she took ibuprofen. The ibuprofen worked for about a week. Her pain level spiked so she went back in to see the dentist. She was diagnosed with a dry socket. They packed it with medication and sent her home. She called me frantically because she was in severe pain. I took her back to the dentist for him to see her again. This time she was simply told they would not give her anymore pain medication and they would not see her. She was treated as though she was seeking pain medication. This dental office will treat you like an addict regardless of any lack of history of pain seeking behavior. They will treat you like an addict even if you cannot take narcotics. They will also not provide follow up care if something goes wrong. My advice is find another dentist. We will be seeking legal advice. Update: I just found out that they are contractually obligated to see my fiancé for 30 days after the extraction. It's been seven days and they refused to see her. read more

I had an excellent experience getting emergency dental care here. Sometimes a damaged tooth is simply not worth spending thousands of dollars on to repair or even salvage. I had a damaged upper rear molar which had become abcessed. I suspected that it was not worth saving and went here to have it extracted ASAP. After completing my paper work, they x-rayed the tooth, found that the abcessed root was broken in three places and thus not salvageable. The dentist gave me a local anesthesia, waited a few minutes, and then painlessly and very skillfully removed the fragments. My pain was gone, and with my anti-biotics I was all better in a few days. I had a safe and excellent experience here, so if you find yourself in a similar situation, do not be afraid to go there. The care is excellent. read more

Went to this place and explained that I am 62 years old and the teeth I have left I would like to have removed and then get dentures. I knew it would take months because I still have a dozen teeth left but I'm so over toothaches. I was given such a hard time by some young blonde, I guess doctor, who made me pre-pay before she even pulled one tooth. I watched and was the only one asked to pre-pay. Then she started giving me a hard time about medications I was eating. She said she wanted notes from my family doctor and stuff. Now I went to this place about five years ago, they did their thing, I gave them a few hundred bucks and I was on my way. But this bitch throws all that bedtime manner crap right out the window. I guess she just didn't want my business so I'm going else where. The idiot pulled just one tooth for 125 bucks and is throwing away about another 2000. I have insurance and money to get it done but since I have long hair I guess the little princess thought I was broke. Called their office this morning and got diagnosed by the receptionist who did not listen to a word I said... I have never called a business and been met with this kind of unprofessionalism... and actually got hung up on once I told her to just listen to what I called for instead of trying to diagnose me over the phone... I called back and someone else did not to any better on the phone. A few minutes later someone else called to see if they could "save" the sale... but If it is this hard to just call to make a simple appointment I shudder to think about what it would have been like becoming an actual client... Went there to have a tooth extracted, Had been on antibiotics for three days They took my blood pressure with wrist cuff (electronic). Blood pressure was some out of sight number 180/168. I ask for a manual cuff reading and they said they only had a small cuff. They rescheduled me a week later and more antibiotics. I went back and blood pressure was through the roof again. 168/138. I told them this was in no way correct because my wife (nurse) takes it and has never been close to that. Also, I had taken medicine at 4 am that morning. Again I ask for a manual cuff reading and again they had only a small cuff. It was high too and they refused to do it again unless I took anxiety medicine. I figured they were going to charge another office visit after I had already paid 125.00, so out the door I went never to return. I am very unhappy with the dentures. It started with this branch letting me believe that I would not be awake when they remove 10 teeth from my jaw. They lied and I was awake the whole time, very disturbing. After removing my teeth she put my new dentures in my mouth so hard it pushed the skin in my front jaw down to my lip. I did know about that for few days after that, so I had to leave them until I could get the skin to start moving back up. I have been back there several time since July 7 ,and complained every time about the dentures not fitting from the first day. I was ignored, and I told them the quality is bad you can see through them, and sharp edges around the teeth also there rough spot on the back of teeth. One last thing they are bucktoothed so bad my tongue cannot touch the front of my teeth I payed $2500 for all this. I hope that nobody else will ever go through this.
