Strange business model / does not make sense for anyone with commercial dental insurance. I have never had to pay more than a copay for routine X rays and cleaning- they were going to charge me over $400 upfront (and then who knows what you get back after they file). I went to an 8 am appointment and was pleasantly greeted by my hygienist who was masked (this is important to me and it was nice that they acknowledged that before my appointment). However, the upselling they do at the get go was disappointment. They insisted I look at a chart and tell them what was most important to me about my dental plan. They also asked me to tell them what would prevent me form getting dental work. I had just gotten a serious set of X-rays at my previous dentist in the Spring. They did not request those X-rays, they did not tell me these X-rays would be required before a visit. My husband's bill first visit was $264 - I've never paid that much for my dentist and they are both out of network. So, they refused to give me a cleaning without the x-rays because the dentist couldn't give me an exam (but the dentist isn't cleaning my teeth). I would not recommend. Looking at these other negative reviews I would agree their goal is to uncharge and oversell. That and - you can clean my teeth without an x-ray. read more

The quality of care is at the top of the list in my opinion. Dr. Juarez genuinely cares about the care that I receive at each and every visit. Do not go here do not stop the car !!!! Your teeth are the most important thing you get. This place is a joke. You get charged for bad work, not quality work. They'll tell you anything upfront just to get your deposit on the work. When the work was done, it wasn't done correctly. I had to pay for every repeat visit. They never saw anything but my gums got a an infection too thanks to Dr."O" Please find another dentist They have too many staff smiling in your face and taking the money (deposit for future work) and not doing the work correctly! read more

Literally the best dentist I've ever been to in my life. Super professional, polite, knowledgeable and thorough. At first, I thought it was a bit silly they had a "comfort" menu. Blankets, calming oils, etc.... but I learned that many people have terrible dentist anxiety, and this was something they put in place to help with that fear. I've always been very fortunate with my dental health, so I could never really understand why someone would be afraid of the dentist. The staff is all super friendly, and the office is clean, and appears to be up to date with modern technology. I'd recommend this office to anyone! :) read more

Well, I have to do a little happy yelping about these professionals. They took excellent care of me yesterday, and today I have a new temp tooth and will get a permanent one soon. The location on Yorkshire St. is quick to get to, just south of downtown Biltmore; the staff are friendly and all smiles, and the dentists (Dr. Orlosky and his agile hygienist Macy) are just wonderful. My friend of 35 years sent me to them. She was looking after me. I didn't expect to pay so much, but it was close to the other estimates I got. So. The Zoe Dental staff was amazing!! I wanted to establish a new dentist and they were very pleasant and comforting. I am nervous when it comes to my teeth, but they were very informative and described everything that needed to be done. I even received injected anesthesia and Nikki, the hygienist, was amazing!!! I felt nothing. I even got to have a heated seat and blanket during my visit. And since I was a new patient I received a great gift! read more

Overpriced. Adds on irrelevant extras that drive the price up. Was quoted $193 for a cleaning and left there with a $350 bill. Found a cavity and they wanted a down pymt. in order to make an appointment to get it filled. This treatment was not due to poor payment history or no dental insurance. Everyone was very welcoming and determined that I would have a good experience, which has really not been the case in my lifetime of dental visits. They have a comfort menu (!!!) which was amazing, and they were upfront about my insurance and the cost of procedures we were contemplating. My hygienist, Beth, was very sweet and understanding and did everything but hold my hand as we went through the appointment and procedures (which would have been hard because she needed two hands...). These people are scammers-big time. Told me my gums were receding-just came from my dentist who said my gums are fine. Tried to sell me on procedure for my gums! Expensive too. Then told me my abscesses tooth had to be pulled. Wrong. Just went to endocrinologist and had root canal. Terrible company. read more

Just moved to the area and I was looking for a reliable dentist. I chose Zoe Dental because they were right down the street from my house. When I called to make an appointment I asked "Do you take Tricare"? The receptionist immediately replied "we bill all insurance companies." I assumed this meant that my bill would be similar to what it was every other time I went to the dentist (I move a lot so I have had many). My initial feeling towards the place was creeped out. What dentist offers you chocolate chip cookies and coffee while you wait.... the kind that wants you to get a cavity so you have to pay them to fix it. Also, I came to the dentist for a teeth cleaning not some freaky hand wax, hot towel, or chapstick. Maybe someone would like that stuff, but I found it weird. I've also never been to a dentist that brought me to a back office to have me fill out my new patient stuff.They made a huge scene of being on the phone with my insurance company while I was sitting in the office because they wanted to "make sure that my x-rays would be covered by my insurance." It turns out that I needed some work done on one of my fillings so I knew that I was going to have to pay some money after insurance. When I walked out of the office I ended up paying around $75 for my dental work and some "prescription toothpaste" that they convinced me I desperately needed. I am now wondering if I actually needed to have this work done and also if I was just scammed into believing I needed this toothpaste. So about a month later I got a fairly large bill from Zoe Dental for what my insurance did not cover and it was quite substantial. I called my insurance company and they told me that if I had gone to a dentist down the street I wouldn't have paid anything. I settled my bill, but I will not be doing business with these dishonest people again. I cannot believe that they would scam a military family for a few hundred dollars. All they had to do when I called was say "we are not a provider for Tricare," but making that money was more important to them. read more

Very professional and such a comforting environment. I absolutely HATE going to the dentist and haven't gone for quite a few years. They were very sweet and did not make me feel like crap for not keeping up with my dental hygiene. I found out that day that I have periodontal disease. They made me as comfortable as possible and gave me several treatment options to make sure I could get the care I needed while also keeping my budget in mind. The one bummer is that you have to pay upfront and get reimbursed by your insurance. However, I believe this is typical for dental offices. read more

Beth was dental hygienist and took excellent care of me answered all my questions and made me feel very comfortable!!! On my first visit to Zoe Dental, I stated that besides good dental care I expect to know exactly what my bill will be before any work is performed. In 7 years of going to the same dental clinic in our former city, my wife and I always knew what the bill was going to be before we approved the work. The technician pushed the panoramic x-ray, which I wasn't going to do (I was experiencing no discomfort), but II was told my insurance covered $95 of the $130. So I said yes. After my treatment which was fine I was told my insurance didn't cover the x-ray and I had to pay the entire $130. I wasn't happy paying an extra $95 but I did. About a month later I get another bill for $35. Now I'm livid. I call their finance coordinator who defended the office saying it was impossible for them to know the exact cost until they submit the bill to the insurance company. When I mentioned our former dentist she got defensive, saying they work more closely with the insurance companies than they do. She said we work for our patients, not the insurance companies. I was stunned. I said that sounds like a dig. She said it wasn't. She was trying to promote Zoe as more patient-friendly like the insurance companies are the enemy or other dental centers that work with them aren't patient-friendly like they are. Her argument made no sense to me. Obviously, my former dentist has a much more efficient office than Zoe does. It's about competency, not whose insurance company friendly or not. Newsflash: A clinic that can inform their patients the exact cost of the treatment before the work being done is the epitome of "patient friendly!". My wife was also looking for a new dentist and chose another even before all this happened to me. The reason was that she needs a crown and Zoe's price on their webpage was approximately $50-125 more than others in the area and our former dentist. So if you want to pay more, not know exactly how much your total bill will be, then Zoe is the place for you. We won't be seeing you there. 2 stars, not 1 because the treatment I received was fine. read more

Dr. Sapna Hayes is the best! Best dental experience I have ever had! All the staff is super and very kind and helpful.

Extras: I've never been treated so well at a dental clinic.... I received a welcoming present in a bag, which was actually a really nice stainless steel travel coffee cup - nicer than the average stainless steel cups actually! There was also the standard toothpaste and floss in there, like at all dentist offices. And I received a free whitening kit and $100 credit for being a new client (promotion going on right now). Environment: The whole atmosphere there is very soothing and spa-like. I was able to choose an "extra" treatment off a menu of about 10 choices (I chose the Paraffin hand wax treatment, and the chap-stick, some of the others I can remember are noise-canceling headphones, a warm blanket, aromatherapy.) Work: The cleaning was gentle. They have a state of the art lab and computerized records and xrays. They try to keep it as "green" as possible by not having a ton of paperwork for you to fill out. Instead they ask you questions or have you circle a plastic sheet with dry erase marker. The hygienist asked me a bunch of questions about my preferences for care, including "what do you value in a relationship with a dentist?" All the staff I came across were super nice and professional (the admin, the hygienist and the dentist). That's all really impressive. I would definitely recommend this dentist to family and friends. read more

They lie about accepting insurance-don't be misled!! I had several procedures done and even encouraged my wife to have her cleaning done at Zoe, as I was happy with the work done. However, they absolutely intentionally misled me about insurance coverage, if not outright lied to me. The website clearly states "We accept most insurance" and when I gave them my insurance information the front desk person said "Oh great, that brings your bill down significantly." It turns out that they are actually out of network but explicitly lead you to believe that they are in network. Once I started to receive thousands of dollars of claims, they continued to tell me that they accept insurance. The front desk manager had the audacity to repeatedly deny that it's misleading, if not outright fraudulent, to say they accept insurance when they actually don't. She repeatedly explained to me that they only offer you an "estimate" of what insurance will cover and they "have no control over what the insurance company will cover." Of course, this means that besides lying about being in network, they don't verify benefits, and then they balance bill and hit you with surprise out-of network. All of which is illegal in many states, by the way. I'm a medical provider and am appalled that this is the way they practice. I recommend avoiding them at all costs. I will be reporting them to the BBB for their fraudulent practices. read more

Zoe dental makes you feel as if you're the only patient they have. You will be pampered from the time you call until you are done. They genuinely care about your pain, appearance and overall health of your mouth. I found the cost to be very much worth the care I received and honestly if it were more, I would still go. I even got a tour upon first arrival, gifts and a $25.00 gift card for each person I referred. They're very gental and I cant stand the thought of going to the dentist! But since I have to go, I am so glad to have found Zoe dental!!! I called today with a toothache and they could see me today or tomorrow and they were going to be closed this Friday. She said she didn't want me going all weekend in pain that I probably needed antibiotics at least. Now what dentist usually cares so much?!?! They're great!
