Dr. Huffman has been my dentist of-and-on for about 15 years. I've moved away from WNC several times, but I'm always relieved to know that I have an excellent dentist to return to. In fact, I used to make a 3 hour round-trip just to see him. He is by far the greatest dentist I have had. He is gentle, compassionate, and makes sure that I am comfortable throughout the process. Additionally, since I do get a bit anxious during dental procedures, he always knows how to make me relax and feel calm during the process. Worst dental experience in my entire life. Dr. Soojin Lee made numerous errors and caused tremendous damages to my mouth, negatively impacting my whole life. Arden Dental Group staff were totally uncaring and non-supportive of my injuries and losses, and treated me like garbage in response to my complaints. Lawsuit in progress. Good luck. read more

Did not enjoy my experience at this practice. Called to make a cleaning appointment as a new patient, and was advised that I have to make two appointments: one for an exam to know what kind of cleaning I needed, and one for the cleaning. I had never heard of this two-visit approach before, and I also explained that it was an hour round trip, and that I wasn't going to be in town long to come back a second time. Although I moved forward with scheduling just the exam, I called back after reconsidering and was able to make an appointment for a cleaning. When I arrived, the hygienist was out, no one called to let me know. So I just had the exam, which, determined that I needed a deep cleaning. I took time off work to squeeze in a the second trip. Although it was a 'deep' clean, the entire process took 30 minutes, at most. Just got a second bill, totaling $170, after insurance. Two stars because hygienist was top notch! Would not recommend the practice however. read more

They charged me $70 on bill that had a $35 balance. I have never had a dental office that sent me a bill for one amount and then demanded I pay double that amount because several months had passed. Usually, I would catch up a past due balance if there was any and then schedule my next appointment. Arden Dental Group has wonderfully friendly staff and a kind dental care team BUT the unexpected and strange reasoning for doubling my unpaid balance makes me too uncomfortable to put my $ or dental care in the hands of Arden Dental Group. read more

Great experience and service! I had some super sentives areas at my gum line and needed to have them filled in for quite some time. My teeth are sensitive anyway and this made it so much worse. I also get extremly anxious whenever I am at the dentist. Dr Huffman did these 3 filings for me and I have to say it was one of the most pleasant experiences I have had at the dentist. He's very kind, gentle and comforting, especailly knowing my nervousness and uneasiness to begin with. It was a wonderful experience and I am so happy now I did it. So, this is my mother's dentist. She loves it here. And I will say, I am truly, unnecessarily, deathly terrified of the dentist. There's really no rhyme or reason. I just am. I warn them the second they get me in the dental death chair. (Joking, but for real, I am scared). I have came here 3 times, had the same dental hygienist all 3 times, and She is just not the lady that needs to be dealing with someone like me, who is scared of the dentist. The last visit was a checkup and cleaning. Which to the average person would be no big deal. To me it's taking a Valium an hour prior to the apt and still having the nervous leg shake the whole time. I do not in any way get angry or hostile, more scared and upset. She was doing the cleaning and I was starting to feel anxious, and told her to stop for just a second, and she got frustrated and just tried to hurry and nicked my gum, and then just started rushing and sighing and making it very uncomfortable. It was not pleasant and I just had her stop the cleaning before any more damage was done. The dentists here are very knowledgeable and did a great job with me and my daughter and my mother really likes them. However, you have to mainly deal with the hygienists and the one I always get I don't care for, only due to my fear, and her lack of empathy on that fear. The front desk staff is great, and I have always been able to make appointments quickly. But, in the future, I'm going to go back to my old dentist who understands my fears. read more

I was denied any type of care here during an emergency visit. My dentist recommended this practice due to their openings and willingness to take patients on Friday (which by no doubt is only to fatten their already huge pockets). I broke a tooth on Thursday night and was told to call Arden Dental Care in the morning. My regular dentist was unable to see me until Tuesday and I didn't want to be in pain or have no front tooth for 4 days. I called the office at 8am like I was told and they explained to me that it would cost $122 to do a comprehensive exam and to take ex-rays. I told them on the phone that I didn't need ex-rays or a comprehensive exam, I only needed them to tell me if they could temporarily fix the tooth or not and I also said I'd be willing to pay whatever needed for the fix if they could do it. They again told me it was $122, basically just to sit in the dentists chair. I again explained the situation and they put me on hold. When they picked back up they told me to come in and they would take a look to assess the situation and then discuss pricing. So I raced over which was 45 minutes away and as soon as I walked in the door and gave them my name, they said it would be a minimum charge today of $122 regardless of what they did. Obviously they knew that whoever spoke to me on the phone before had made a mistake and wanted it to be clear immediately that I was going to pay $122. I explained what I was told on the phone and they said that it's their policy for new patients and apologized for the confusion. I said this was not a mix up or confusion on my part, THEIR staff gave me the wrong information and now I had to drive an hour and thirty minutes in pain with a broken tooth for no reason. After showing some frustration and being fairly upset, I'll admit on my part (as would most of us with a broken tooth in a lot of pain who wasted an hour and a half and could not get relief). After this brief argument with the receptionist she said she would ask the dentist. When she cam back she again said that it would be $122 to see the dentist, at which point I said, all I need is 30 seconds for them to tell me if they could even possibly fix it and then I would be glad to pay the $122 and more, but if they were going to make me pay $122 and not be able to fix it then that is something I can't afford. At this point Dr. Deines came out into the waiting room and started to raise his voice at me telling me that I had no right to make any demands and that their policy is to pay $122 no matter what. I explained the situation again and then he raised his voice again and explained to me that I was out of luck in a very rude and angry manner. He was standing there in a threatening manner, trying to intimidate me! So, although the dentist didn't have 30 seconds to take a look at me open my mouth and say yes we can possibly do something or absolutely not, he had plenty of time to stand in the waiting room acting threatening and trying to intimidate me. At that point he yelled at me "GET OUT OF MY OFFICE"! If caring about patients and people in pain was half as important to Dr. Deines as acting like a bully and being a jerk, then I bet he's a heck of a dentist! If this is the treatment I received in the waiting room from this extremely insensitive and aggressive man, I can't imagine the treatment I would have received on my teeth. Not only should you not use this practice but this dentist should not be practicing medicine with his complete lack of empathy for a patient in pain and his overall blood thirsty need for money that was so overwhelmingly apparent. This is literally what is wrong with our society as a whole, when someone has a tiny bit of power they use it for greed, ego and and to bully anyone they can. Dr. Dienes plane and simple is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across in the medical industry, but hey, maybe dentists don't have to take any oath, because Doctor Dienes certainly doesn't care about people in pain, especially poor people, but he does care that he get's his $122 out of you!!!!! read more

Arden Dental group has been my dentist for approximately 10 years. I have seen Dr HOFFMAN most visits. Last visit I had a sore place between two teeth. (Area of a past root canal/crown) On X-ray told to obtain wire cleaners from Walmart. COST: X-ray....$35.00 professional opinion: $87.00 Go to Walmart for a Package of five wire clearers.....$4.98. I really appreciate how efficient and thorough my hygienist, Samantha Higgins, is. I visit mostly for cleaning and noted that the doctors in this office are very conservative with their recommendations for treatment of a problem area. I really like that. You don't feel like your getting ripped off. They just 'matter of fact' give you your options for treatment. I am excited to have found this office, as my dentist of 20 plus years retired and I was really nervous about going to a new place. read more
