Overall, the service got the job done, but the communication could definitely be improved. As a first-time user of paralegal services, I found the process confusing because very little was explained along the way. It also took quite a while to get responses, and I often had to call multiple times before receiving updates or answers to my questions. If I didn't reach out myself, I usually didn't receive any status updates. There was also an issue where an incorrect service document was filed with the court, and as of now, it still doesn't appear to have been corrected. That added to the uncertainty and made it difficult to know where my case stood. While everything ultimately moved forward, I think the experience would be much less stressful if there were more proactive communication, clearer explanations of the process, and timely updates for clients especially those using paralegal services for the first time. They were on the cheaper end so I guess if you're looking for affordable just know what to expect. read more

My girlfriend has been trying to finalize her divorce with them since 2022. They keep making mistakes (which they force her to pay them to fix), and they filed her papers wrong (which my GF found out by checking the status herself, they wouldn't have said anything). They gave her an attitude when she called to have them fix the latest mistake (literally one line on one paper), which is why she's going elsewhere for this service. In my opinion they were taking advantage of her since she is not from this country and were milking her for all the money they could. Do not trust them. read more

I am very disappointed with their service. Please read the good and bad review on this company before you choose to go and filed your papers here. All the bad review that they left is correct based on my experience I filed my papers last 2022 regarding my divorce and custody. They are nice in the beginning until this year 2024, I'm waiting for my judgement. I thought there is no problem at all coz I don't hear anything from them until I looked at my profile online and check what happen because they never follow up. I keep calling and following up what happen to my divorce. I checked my account and it says return mail from the court. I called them it seems they don't want to assist me anymore. When I spoke to therese she give me an option if I want to pick it up in the court or want me to wait and I said I can wait. Its been one month before they process my mailed back and when I called whats the reason why I got my mailed back for my judgement and she didn't say anything. Then after that I never heard again from them until I checked again online and it says for the second time around i got my mailed return again so I keep calling them until I went to my vacation. When I came back I called them and they said they did everything on their part and they don't know why I received a mail back from the court. I just found out its because they have a mistake on my divorce paper. They corrected my judgement paper but they forgot to correct one of my paper in divorce to remove the child support thats the error. I keep calling them and Brenda said she went on vacation for 2 weeks then after that I keep calling she said they will give me a call back but they never did until one day I call Brenda even the other assistant and explain whats the error on my paper and I felt like I'm begging them to help me out even though I paid for it and its not my mistake. I'ts their mistake for not checking the whole paper of my divorce before submitting my judgement to court. When I spoke to brenda she said that Theresa was behind from all the customers. I was so frustrated the way they treated me because I am also a customer but seems they don't care at all. She said If you want to wait and I said you know I am willing to wait but I dont know how long should I wait she said I dont know. How can I wait if I don't know how long should I wait. She said If I told you , you will keep calling. As a customer I was concern of my divorce paper. I choose them coz I trusted them but ended up disappointing me. She said if you want you can correct by yourself. I mean I came here for them to help me out but didnt help me out until my divorce was done. I ended up looking for someone else. The person who helped me was fast and accurate she said I dont understand your paper is easy and they cant help you. I will not recommend this place at all !!! We had multiple issues getting divorce documents kicked back for various reasons. I brought them in to her and she spent about an hour and a half correcting issues that even the courts hadn't found yet. We sent them in and the court processed them and gave us a judgment less then 2 weeks later! Highly recommend them for any documents you need help with. read more

I went to this service in June 2022 with a divorce I wasn't able to do myself. They did some paperwork to advance it but there was a return of documents in July. They did nothing more to finish the divorce and never called me or explained why. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, but nothing happened. Finally in March 2023, I went and got my original documents but I was not given the documents that were filed back in June so I will have to have them printed myself. read more

I was impressed with Affordable Document Services. Dealing with the court can be a little time consuming and frustrating. I was in a situation where I needed something prepared for court on short notice. They're was an issue with the court about getting the document accepted, they were able to do so because of their professionalism and working relationship with the court. They prepared everything for court really fast and at the best price. When I've called on follow up questions about certain issues, they've been polite and courteous. There are times where they can perform the service but gave more economical self help options. My soon-to-be ex and I walked into her office with some random divorce paperwork we'd be trying to complete on our own without lawyers for the past 2 years. Truthfully, we were both lost in what steps we needed to take in order to finish our divorce process that seemed endless. Absolutely horrible service , a different person always answers the phone and nobody knows what anyone else is doing. Never returns phone calls even after multiple messages left. Teresa recommended an attorney to resolve this , the attorney told me that they should have recommended I hire an attorney in the first place because this is not something they should be handling. I was never rude, it took 2 months to get a call back from Teresa who basically blew me off. The attorney she recommended said he could take care of this for $3,700.00 , after consulting a different attorney who took care of this with a phone call to the court at no cost to me which he said could have been done by Teresa but obviously this was just a situation she didn't understand. Bottom line is it's done and I recommend using a different paralegal service. I didn't appreciate being lied to, I was told on several occasions by two different receptionist different stories and both were not true. I was told my filing from 2015 was emailed to the recommended attorney , when I asked for a copy I was told it was being emailed to me also , when I didn't receive the email I called the next day and a different receptionist told me that they don't keep filings over a year old, so another lie. I asked for a refund of a $800.00 dollar payment for services that never took place. Theresa never filed anything with the court and she claims the money went to her just for typing up a three page court document and checking boxes on a riverside family court county supreme court form, which was never filed and it took her over two months just to type that paper up. When I saw that nothing was being done I asked Theresa for a refund and she agreed, but after waiting over a moth again on top of the other months waiting for nothing to happen, Theresa refunded only $350.00 of the original $800.00, which she did not do over $450.00 dollars worth of work, and Theresa's excuse was she wrote $350.00 down on a posted note on my file months ago to help her remember the amount, that is no way to run a business. Theresa typed up a paper and e-mailed it to me, i expected to get back more of a refund for the lack of service she provided. I should had received $350.00 dollars more along with the additional $350.00 dollars Theresa already gave me back, for her scam services. read more

I am extremely dissatisfied with the services provided by Affordable Document Services (ADS), owner Teresa, located on Lime St (not to be confused with Affordable Document Preparation Services, owner Elaine, located on Meadow Rock Dr.). In July 2018, I hired Teresa of ADS to prepare an unlawful detainer and a judgment against a tenant. I spoke with Teresa on the initial appointment, and from then on she handed me over to one of her assistants, who knew nothing about unlawful detainers or judgments. There was very little contact with Teresa after this first appointment, and little to no returning of my phone calls to ADS. Eventually, an unlawful detainer was filed, but I still have not received the judgment. In September 2018 the judgment paperwork was filled out by Teresa's assistant, who again reminded me this was not her area of expertise. I filed the judgment paperwork only to have it rejected and sent back by the courts some four weeks later, due to multiple errors made in the paperwork by ADS. Still no contact with the owner Teresa and only sporadically did the assistant return my phone calls. The assistant assured me by phone that she would resubmit the paperwork in November and that it shouldn't take more than four weeks to get through the court since it had already passed through once. It's now almost March and no judgment has been received, and there has been no response to repeated phone calls to ADS asking for a status update of my case. The service provided by Affordable Document Services on Lime St. in Riverside, owned by Teresa, has been very poor and unprofessional and I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

This business was very helpful. When I came to speak to theresa, I did not have the money for an attorney but theresa helped me and I got the custody I was requesting. She stayed late to get the emergency paperwork done and filed the next morning. I was very impressed with her knowledge. Will never use them again! Paid an upfront deposit only to never get them to do any work. They did't return phone calls or initiate any contact with us. The work was never done!
